Breezy Point has the charm so much of the area has lost. The overall ambience is a mix of 70's, 80's and today, and that's most definitely one of the keys to their success. If you have fond memories of the Lakes past humble and fun persona, they'll be rekindled here for sure. Even so, everything is kept very very clean and comfortable. We had a chance to talk to Teresa, the owner and the Diana from housekeeping. Both of them were very friendly and helpful, and they confirmed what appeared to be the case: the place is neat as a pin under the close observation of Pat, Teresa's husband. The attention to detail is evident. We didn't see any of the bugs or spiderwebs that have always - at least for me - been part of the Lake experience. Every corner of this property is ship-shape and updated as needed, from the Weber grills without a scratch to the very comfortable beds. I'm so glad we found this place and I predict we'll be regulars.

Pros: nice family friendly place, owners are nice, and nice outdoor amenities including the playground. I think we would consider coming back, but I think I would need a deluxe cabin so it's not as noisy and I would probably ask them to check ahead to make sure it's indeed clean enough.

made a $100 deposit for a room in 2020. wife had surgery, so asked if deposit could be applied in…read morefuture. they said yes. then came 2021, with covid and their restrictive dates of 7 days minimum, we couldnt get a weekend to work. now its 2022, i wanted to try again. they (kay) stated she wont honor the deposit anymore. i asked for a refund, she refuses. i think given the above circumstances, applying the deposit or refund would be the right thing to do. i asked repeatly for consideration, but they refuse. i dont think this is a way to treat people and keeping peoples deposits without trying to assist is plain wrong. we wanted a 3 nite stay. i have contacted the better business bureau and chamber of commerce to file complaints.

We found Gasconade Hills Resort on the RVLife app. We pulled up at about 5:15 PM and called the phone listed. James showed up within a couple of minutes to check us in. We did not have prior reservations so we were able to drive around to pick a spot we preferred. We set up quickly and were able to enjoy the very clean, nice size pool. The bathrooms at the pool were also very clean. Afterwards, we decided to order pizza and although it was very close to closing time, James took our order and delivered to our camping site. WE LOVED IT HERE! Can't say enough good things about it. Wish we had time to do the river floats. We are already planning to come back and stay for a few days.

Beds are full size cots, which are uncomfortable but is in line with the camping experience. Went on the 6 mile float trip, our first time doing a canoe & taking our dog. Very relaxing river, only had 1 dicey moment with some tree branches. Saw bald eagle nests, & a bald eagle fishing in the river right in front of us. Met great people on our trip, great convos. We had lunch on a rocky beach. The beavers running around the property were funny to watch. Had a great time, very relaxing. Highly recommend, would come back.
