They have a lot of things to do like arcade games and shuffleboard, which is nice. Not sure if I'd spend my whole night here.

One of my favorite bars in Denton. Great atmosphere, and not so loud you can't hear yourself talk. Interesting variety of shots available, although the bartenders don't always know how to make them. The chicken tenders they have are always delicious. We've managed to avoid the crowds, and while I don't feel like Riprocks get as much attention as some of the surrounding bars, when it gets packed, it gets PACKED. read more

Best place to grab a brew if your in the Fry St. area. Staff is actually friendly and has a great sense of humor. Drinks are super cheap and the music doesn't suck. Most of all they serve the best food! The burgers are never frozen and the meat is shipped in 2 times a week for the freshness. Great wings, turkey delight, and you must try the specialty nachos! Rip rocks is your average college bar. Pool tables, darts, shuffle board, etc. A great place to come for birthdays because they have a fun way of choosing which free shot the birthday person gets. Decent place to grab a cold beer and a burger. Friendly staff and super close to UNT campus. Try the fries...crispy and delicious.

A pretty okay place. The fries are amazing and the drinks are fairly priced, however people get REALLY loud and rowdy. Way more so than a normal bar and this place isn't just a bar. I wish staff would do something about the obnoxiously loud patrons. If I wanted the true bar atmosphere I would just go to Lou's next door. read more

The best of the Fry St. bars next to UNT. Plenty of room inside and outside, with $2 double LITs every day and $2 Ziegenbach pints. The staff pours with a stiff hand and are very nice. Food is pretty good for bar food though it's a bit more expensive than it used to be, though for $2.50 you get lots of crispy, restaurant-style fries and 10 hot wings for $5.95 that can clear your sinuses off the aroma alone. The daily food specials aren't really all that good considering it saves only $.50 but I appreciate the effort. And they always serve free food buffets every Thanksgiving and Xmas for us who don't favor family get-togethers. read more

I had some time between classes so I came in for a bite and a beer. World Cup easily viewed on the multiple large screens - check. Righteous bar games such as dart and shuffleboard - check. Ice cold tap beer - check. BLT - sucked! How can you screw up this classic? Giant slices of bread held a ridiculously large amount of mayonnaise, about half a head of lettuce, a tomato, and the most disgusting bacon I have ever had... and I've been served some crappy bacon before! I get that you prep your bacon before the lunch shift starts and it hangs out for some time. But to refry it again for heat until it is black is uncalled for. I took my first and only bite and the grease, mayo, and most of my sandwich slid out the back. When the server stopped by to take away a basically uneaten sandwich, I explained what the issues were and I was told "Guess we'll have to work on that." WTH?!?! I slammed my beer and got the hell outta Dodge. Thank goodness I graduate next month and won't be anywhere near this place again. read more

I've never had a bad experience here. Great food and drinks for reasonable prices. Favorite bar on fry street without a doubt.

About the same as Lucky Lou's-owned by the same people but still something of a unique place. I like the background music that is played-it is usually a diverse playlist, depending on who is working. read more

Rip rocks is great! It's always a fun laid back atmosphere. The food is really the best part. I find myself going there at lunch time just to get a burger or chicken sandwich even when I am not drinking. Sometimes they have live music on the front patio or the back patio and the bands they book are usually pretty good. This is my go-to bar in Denton. read more

Not sure what the deal was, I'd only heard and expected good things. The bartender was really rude, and didn't make the drink I asked for. I felt like I was being ignored as she took the drink orders of people standing behind me for ten minutes before acknowledging the fact I had been standing there. Once she did, she acted like I was a huge burden to her time, asking "What do you want?" Overall not a great experience, and it just put me in a bad mood. Probably won't be back very often. read more

The bar itself is pretty cool. The drink prices aren't very competitive considering how many bars are in that one area.

My favorite bar in Denton that serves up super-great drink specials and tasty food at great prices. You can get $2 double Long Islands, $2 Ziegenbocks, and $2 margaritas on a regular basis. And the wings are great and a bargain for 10 at $5. The place can be loud but most of the people are laid-back and eager to have a good time. The interior is homey, and there's ample room out on the patio section. And the staff is always super-friendly and a pleasure to be around. read more

Love the food and drink as well as all the sports. I would like to continue doing business, however I cannot. Most eating establishment's have a ban on smoking. I have tried to tolerate the situation, but because of the lack of ventilation and the density of smoke, I fear for my health and must stop! Not only do I experience shortness of breath, but my clothes and my food are subject to the residue of cigarette smoke. Because of the health issues attributed to smoking I believe Riprocks is limiting their customer's and profit. Designated smoking areas outside may be the answer. Nothing is worth the potential health hazard that second hand smoke causes. I will seek legal petition for banning smoking in eating establishment's in Denton, Texas. I have lost family due to the effect's of smoke. I will not join them! I will look forward to Riprocks becoming a smoke free environment where I can enjoy the great food and entertainment. Until then, sadly I will do business with those who do not allow smoking. I'm not ready to R.I.P.! read more
