During my first appointment, I did a consultation with Jessica. We spoke about my history with knee pain from skiing, and then moved into an assessment on the table. Without any kind of prep, she initiated muscle scraping on my entire leg, which was one of the most painful things I've had to endure. She said nothing to the effect of "we're about to do some muscle scraping, are you familiar with this?" or "this may be painful" or "it can cause pretty serious bruising and tenderness." She just got the tools and went right in. It was excruciating, and I found the total lack of preparation unprofessional and alarming. I was left with huge bruises up and down my leg for days; this was 2 days before a birthday trip where I'd be in a bathing suit, during which I had a massage I needed to cancel due to the tenderness of the massive bruises. Had I been prompted about the severity of this procedure, I likely would have declined or opted for a less intense massage approach (which was what I had explicitly asked for in my consultation and the beginning part of my assessment with Jessica, as massage therapy has helped me a great deal before). My first visit ended with some ultrasound therapy, which was more pleasant. Despite the intensity of the scraping, I was at least interested in the fact that this PT (the fourth clinic I've been to in 2 years) was performing more manual therapy than the others. I figured that I would give it a shot. At my second visit, we did more muscle scraping, and no ultra sound therapy. I was quickly passed off to another therapist to do some hip strengthening exercises, and halfway through she had to ask me which side my injury was on. She didn't seem super prepared to help me, and then brought me to the front desk to wrap up my appointment with 20 minutes still left in the hour. That appointment cost me $168, as my insurance does not cover PT until after I've hit my deductible, so I was feeling a bit shortchanged. I asked if I could be charged for fewer PT units due to the shorter appointment, and the therapist instead took me back to do some stretching. I had arrived to my second appt with some hip pain, and the therapist showed me a stretch that aggravated that pain. Upon telling her that I was in pain, and not in a tight muscle kind of way, she said "yeah, you'll feel that" and dismissed it. I left that appointment in more pain than when I arrived. I am super disappointed in the care I received here.

I noticed that my energy level was low and that I needed to get an IV done ASAP. I'd rather get an IV here then end up in an ER waiting 2 to 4 hours just to be informed that I'm dehydrated. I found Prime IV hydration in Beaverton on YELP since I'm still new to the area. It's close to my house in Progress Ridge so I thought I would give it a try. I'm definitely not a newbie to being dehydrated and just can't get all the water in that I need in a day. I'm familiar with receiving IV drips since I lived in Las Vegas Nevada for 22 years. I'm used to getting stuck, poked, and missed veins from time to time. That's just normal, especially since I normally am extremely dehydrated. I was worried that my veins would be hard to work with but I'm thankful for my one poke and that I experienced great care today. I was respected. I was informed. I felt welcomed. I felt like everything I said mattered and that I was genuinely being heard. I found out from the owner that this was a new location which is why everything is very new. Since I was a new client, I was provided intake paperwork sent electronically to my email. After my paperwork was signed, I was moved into a small meeting room to have a quick 5 to 6 minutes conversation with my intake provider. I was the only client there when PrimeIV opened which gave me time to look around. I took pictures and attached them for others to view. The front desk is clean and organized, floors clean, bathroom clean, and massage chairs. After the 5 to 6 minute interview, I moved to another room where Amy started to prep my arm for my IV. Once my arm was ready, I was off to get my massage. Now, let me tell you these are pretty fancy massage chairs. It's not the normal chairs that you'd be sitting in when you get your nails done in a salon. These are the high-tech massage chairs. There are a total of four in the room, which means the max clients in the room would be only four at a time. The IV room is very quaint and has a little feng shui about it. After I sat down in the massage chair, Amy set my massage to rest/sleep mode then went to mix my IV. My massage was Heaven. I'm so thankful for the massage chairs because the massage helped me relax, especially since I have anxiety. Amy hooked me up to my IV and fixed the titration and my drip started. From the time my bag started to the time it ended took about an hour and 20 minutes. I added vitamin B -12 to my bag And within the first 15 minutes, I already started feeling the energy. When Amy came in to check on me I told her I felt so much energy that I could take on the world. Ha ha ha. When the full bag was done, I felt REJUVENATED!!!! My thoughts and speech improved. My blood pressure improved and my mood was lifted. I no longer felt lethargic, nauseated, or dizzy, and as I mentioned earlier, I felt AMAZING!!!!! In essence, I couldn't walk or put weight on my leg and NSAIDs didn't touch the pain. Complicating matters, I needed to fly at the end of that week to a event which was unmissable. Fortunately for me, I was able to get an appointment with Vidhra, who somehow made the pain manageable, and made me able to walk relatively normally again. Two days later, I had a follow-up appointment with Tara, who also did amazing work and made it possible for me to resume my life. I was also appreciative of how much attention to detail was given to each treatment room and they even have a section for children to read and play. I started off with a 'Life Vessel' session and Amber, one of the clinic owners, described to me the research and benefits of the chamber. I found the experience to be incredibly relaxing, so much that I returned for 3 subsequent sessions to complete the four session package. I really enjoyed the music and every session found myself going deeper into relaxation to the point that I was just as 'zenned out' as I can achieve through states only found through long-term meditation. I could immediately tell after the first session that the near infrared was working like a charm to remove toxins from my body through my lymph nodes. Later, I could see through just a few sessions a dramatic improvement in managing my stress levels so much so I would find membership to this business worth the investment. I then moved on to the Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber. To be honest I was somewhat nervous at first being confined to such a small space but once I sat inside there was actually more room than I was anticipating. I had a wave of claustrophobia when they zipped up the top but Andy, the other owner, was attentive and walked me through the entire process and how easy it was to unzip the top if I wanted to. Once I saw him through the window the wave ended as quickly as it came and the rest of the session was smooth sailing. Both owners continued to check in on me while the pressure increased, throughout the session, and while it was depressurizing. They also offered me a fan, reading material, and even a communication buzzer should I need anything. I ended up listening to a meditation on my phone and savored the oxygen saturation feeling! Quite addicting. Next I went on their PEMF mat. I was particularly excited about this device as I have been researching PEMF technology for a wide range of conditions and how promising it seems to be. I could feel the tingling sensation right away on my legs and Andy told me that this was evidence of increasing my blood flow and detoxing my cells (although most of the time people don't feel anything explicit which doesn't mean it's not working). For one thing, I am much lighter than I was when I started there, though that wasn't even my goal, or the focus of my treatment. With compassion, they helped me get my body in balance.
