Found this place on Yelp while searching in the area for some good BBQ. I asked Michael at the window to give me his best to try. He recommended the two meat plate with sliced beef, sausage, baked beans, and potato salad. It was served with their regular bbq sauce and sweet & spicy. I preferred the sweet & spicy, but they were both delicious on these perfectly cooked meats. The sliced beef literally held together for dipping yet fell apart in your mouth. It was so tender and the flavor was exactly what I came searching for. I ate at one of the three picnic tables they've got outside. Someone overheard me say I was from out of town, asked how I found this local secret, and reaffirmed that it was the best in town. Well it sure was the best I've ever had! Great Reviews led us to this place. We were driving through from a very long flight from out of state and this being our first true Texas BBQ experience did not disappoint. Owners were super friendly. Food really hit the spot. We tried all the meats so you should too. Only negative was that I really wanted to try their banana pudding and peach cobbler and they were out of both. I was really hoping for some Southern style sweet tea but it was a bottled brand. Seating is two red benches outside, clean, nicely manicured lawn but no umbrella on a hot spring day. We would definitely recommend. read more

New to the area and found this BBQ location on Yelp. We were greeted by the very friendly owner and welcomed to the area. We ordered the three meat plate of brisket, pulled pork and sausage. Our sides were beans, slaw and we ordered an extra side of potato salad. The plate was perfect for sharing between my wife and I. Everything was exactly as we would expect and even exceeding expectations. We sat outside on the picnic tables and the weather was perfect. The pork ribs followed suit, and had a balance between chew and fall-off-the-bone tender. As for the sides, both the potato salad and cole slaw are on point, providing a refreshing contrast to the richness of the meats. The only minor hiccup for us was chopped chicken, excellent but just not quite as smokey as the other items. I was in Hillsboro taking care of tax business and was looking for a good place to eat. The reviews were all good so I decided to give it a try. I was surprised to see that it was so small. But the service and the food were not small. The lady at the window was very gracious and nice. She was awesome. She gave me a sample of the potato salad to see if I liked it. I ordered the 3 meat plate which consisted of brisket, ribs and sausage and got 2 sides of the awesome potato salad. I highly recommend this little bbq stand with big hospitality and food! This lovely little BBQ place is situated in a quiet neighborhood just south of the Hillsboro Courthouse. We sat outside on a beautiful day and had great food. The lean brisket plate was delicious, cut with a fork and melt in your mouth. The potato salad and coleslaw was very good as was the BBQ sauce. Good service! Also there was a rooster serenade!! No restrooms or indoor seating, but there's always a Bucee's down the road. (Literally go north on Abbott and you see they are building a new one) read more
