My wife and I were on our way home from Glen Rose, TX and decided to stop by for some breakfast…read moreto-go. The name on Yelp of this restaurant needs to be changed to "2nd Street Social." It's right next door to where the address on the Yelp Page will take you, but it is formerly the "Bakeshop." The staff mentioned to us the former building/house was being renovated to become an AirBnB or something. We were looking forward to patio seating given we had our pup with us, but the restaurant didn't have any, so we opted for drive-thru. The restaurant itself has a small parking lot. The woman who took our order was very kind and informative, as mentioned previously. I ordered an "Iced Latte with White Chocolate" and ordered the "Breakfast Burrito," which contained sausage, scrambled eggs, and cheese. The latte was good, creamy and sweet with the WC flavoring. The burrito was also good, not amazing, but good! I should have ordered 2 of them, it wasn't too big, so keep that in mind. The cheese was melted inside and the sausage was super flavorful. There was a section of my burrito in which the sausage was actually cold, which took me by surprise, but other than that it was good. Pricing was decent for what we ordered. We would come back if we were driving through again!!

Our waitress was so kind and friendly and even the women seated nearby struck up conversation with us while we waited for our food. It just had that warm, community-oriented breakfast spot vibe. I ordered the blueberry lemon pancakes which were a seasonal special and wow, they were fantastic. Sweet but not overly so, fluffy, flavorful, and the combo also came with an egg and I chose two slices of bacon. All delicious and certainly plenty filling. The coffee was strong too, which I greatly appreciated. All in all, this was a five-star breakfast experience and the kind of local spot I love discovering while traveling. The place was at the end of a shopping strip. The restaurant was bright and typical to any breakfast restaurant Our waiter was nice and answered our questions. I like that they have smaller portions and regular portions. I order the small french toast and with poached egg and sausage. It was just enough since I cutting back, you may need regular portion for a big appetite. Overall it was decent. The food came out quickly and the price was good. I forgot to take pics.

The food was good and I was able to get a gluten free plate despite them not having GF bread options. That's fine at least I got a decent meal. There were complaints around us of folks not getting items but we were good. Bathrooms were clean and parking easy. I will say it was a bit sad that all the art on the walls was clearly AI...there have to be local artists that could supply work?
