I've been here twice and both times have been mediocre at best. The coffee was bitter this time. My last visit at least the coffee was good. This time the coffee tasted like the brewer had not been cleaned in a while. Maybe because it was a busy Sunday but what ever the reason it was not good. There was a 30min wait for food on Sunday morning. It was 10am and I had not had breakfast so I was pretty hungry. We opted for the premade breakfast sandwiches. They were bland at best. The sausage wasn't bad but with the bland English muffin and mild cheese it just made for a tasteless, sad sandwich. The ambiance is good and the line out the door made us believe we were getting a good cup of coffee. I am an avid coffee drinker and honestly I will not go back. Maybe the espresso drinks are what sells this place. The staff was nice and seemed to be staffed enough to allow one guy to stand in the middle looking for something to do. Oh and both carafes of regular coffee were empty when we went to fill our cups. Not that a fresh pot made much of a difference. I have had rise up coffee that tasted much better. read more

Bottom Line: A cute local coffee shop with tasty coffee and friendly baristas. I was excited to see Rise Up come to Annapolis so on a drizzly, chilly morning I was looking forward to warming up at Rise Up. I went on an early Saturday morning so parking was a breeze but I can definitely see where it would be messy when the Annapolis Towne Centre is in full swing. Upon entry, the baristas were friendly and even though I felt like I was fumbling around a bit trying to place my order they made me feel welcome. In the end I got a big brewed coffee because I'm a caffeine junkie that just likes my java simple. I enthusiastically ordered "a really big" coffee but soon realized even I didn't need that much coffee! While enjoying my beverage I noticed they have an express coffee station where you can put $2 in a jar and get a reasonable size cup of coffee. I love that concept! As a simple coffee drinker who usually carries cash, it's great to know I can skip the line and be on my way. Overall, I'm a fan. read more

Stopped in for a quick afternoon pick me up and got a large frappe' - friendly staff and nice seating both inside and out. When I'm in Annapolis I'd stop by again. Not a big fan of the "Gen Z, Virtue Signaling Rainbow" sign with brilliant sayings like, "love is love." Duh. I've been going to this Rise Up since it opened and I've almost always had wonderful and friendly service! This morning my drink was mistakenly grabbed by someone else during a big rush and they quickly fixed the problem and whipped me up a new drink. I love the almond milk latte and matcha oat latte. The to go box of hummus and pita chips is also pretty good too. Some people complain about the wait, but if you use your eyes that you were likely blessed with when you were born, before you enter you can usually see a big line of people waiting to order and waiting for their orders during the morning rush. So, common sense says if it looks busy, it will take a while to get your drink. Anyways, I love this place! read more

Not from the area, only traveling through for work, so I can't say how Rise Up compares to other coffee spots in suburban Annapolis. However this place hit 5 stars for me easily. Small place with only a few tables so not great for hanging out, grab and go is better. However the iced coffee was phenomenal. Nice smooth coffee flavor, no cream or sugar needed or wanted. The baked goods were super fresh and must have been made locally, also excellent. I ordered warm food to go as well. The setup is smart: you get your coffee and pastries in the store. Hot food is made in a Rise Up truck behind the building. So you run back there to grab and go with your food. The breakfast burrito I had was amazing. Great flavors, not too heavy. The two add on sauces were fantastic too, one mild and one pretty hot. Definitely recommend this place as a great coffee and breakfast option. read more

They have more parking in the back for anyone who has ever mentioned the parking situation. They are in a cozy little location and the parking out front is not ideal but Rise Up is worth it! I only come to the Annapolis location BUT Iron Rooster near me served Rise Up coffee. Woo boo! Wait: Maybe a few people even at peak times! Server: The girls really grind it out. They work super hard and are super friendly. I always leave happy because they compliment me every single time. It's a good group! Food Quality& Order: The Chai is great. That's my go to. I'm not a huge coffee person. I will say, they Gluten Free Crustless Quiche? YUM Atmosphere& Decor: SOOO Insta worthy. They have a very modern black& white interior with some nice greenery. Outside? Great coffee. Nice coffee shop! There isn't a ton of room for hanging out, so it is more of a take out place. We will definitely be back!

I stopped by here after a Whole Foods run as it's across the street. They have an outdoor seating area and the tables are spaced out. I recommend parking in the big left across from the shop as the spaces are tricky to squeeze into if you have a bigger car. Masks are required to enter and they have a friendly reminder on the door, but no social distancing markers on the floor. There's plenty of space inside though so just be mindful on your own. They're known for the coffee smoothies but I ordered an oat milk latte. You have the option to combine flavor shots so I combined vanilla and caramel. The sizes are great, and you can get them iced or hot. They use paper straws and also have plastic tops. I definitely want to come back and try the coffee smoothies and sit outside for a bit. read more

I've always passed Rise Up and never stopped by. Recently, someone recommended them to me so I decided to try them one morning and now I'm hooked. Ordered a medium iced hazelnut latte and it did not disappoint. The latte was smooth and creamy, even with the oat milk sub. Price point is about the same as Starbs, so no breaks there. I wanted to try the food, so I got the Tito Burrito (Refried Beans, rice, pico, jalapeño, and cheese) and breakfast tots. OH. MY. WORD. It was amazing. They offer sauces with the food, but I didn't even need them it was so good. All in all, will be a nice treat for my Saturday errands. read more

First time visiting.. drip coffee was good. Ordered some food.. wasn't told the food would come out of the food truck in the back but I figured it out. Was told the wait for food would be 20-25 minutes and it turned out to be close to an hour. Not worth the wait for a breakfast burrito. Another family was waiting on missing food (tater tots!) and eventually abandoned ship after waiting an insane amount of time. Seems like it could be a great spot if they can work out the kinks. Very nice Baristas working the set the only thing that was off is that there was no mention to me as I ordered a food item that I had to pick it up from the Food Truck in the back/outside of the establishment. This place has coffee smoothies to die for! They also use paper straws so it makes me happy that they're environmentally conscious. There's lots of natural lighting and room to work on homework. The workers are all super friendly and always have a smile. I got the small caramel coffee smoothie with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle for $5 and I highly recommend it. My wife and I really like the Rise Up Coffee brand. We had been to some of their other locations so when we found out Annapolis had one, we had to go! We came in on a Saturday morning and it was PACKED. It's a small-ish location and doesn't have much indoor seating, but does have some outdoor seating in the front, around the side of the building as well as the back. There was a huge a line going outside, but the wait went by fairly quick! And unlike the other locations we've been to, they don't have a full kitchen. They had a food truck in the back called "Mad Eggs" who was handling their food orders. So you order at the coffee counter, but pick up food at the truck. Rise Up Coffee is ON POINT. The espresso is smooth and I love the cold brew. The iced Matcha here is also good, but the coffee is the winner! Foodwise, I really like the burritos. But the biscuit is super dry and not as good as other locations. So stick to the burritos! Service is good. Prices are reasonable. A great addition to Annapolis! read more

The coffee here is better than expected. Tough to get in during peak times, but worth the wait. I usually just get plain coffee. They have an express lane option for that, just drop $2 in a jar and grab a medium. I'm an XL kind of guy, so I choose to wait. Not as hipster-rich as the location in Easton, I can stand the crowd here a little more. This is a more mature, yet still very image-conscious crowd. What we called "Yuppies" back in the day. The staff is always polite and helpful, and they doo keep the lines flowing. The parking lot is awful, and requires masterful handling of your car to get in and back out. read more

Since moving to the East Coast I have been desperately seeking a substitute for my beloved Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf ice blended drinks that were a staple for me in California. The parking and location is crazy though. Be careful, West Street and the Towne Center are always crowded. It's worth the hairy drive in and out of the place. Be prepared to wait. But it will be worth it. Super fresh coffee roasted exquisitely. A variety of flavors Excellent staff, good customer service even during busy times They offer a variety of dairy alternatives, my favorite being almond milk. This is a small but popular coffee shop. I spent several hours in the space and I am unsure if they offer WiFi as I didn't see anything visible on my computer and no signage. The coffee was well made and polite staff. I will say in the two hours at the shop I never saw one employee go around and clean the tables or floors which seemed to have a lot of crumbs even when arriving Saturday at 10am which is concerning. Also, I didn't know they had a coffee rewards program until at the end of my stay when they offered a card to a customer.
