Local coffee spot with a fun vibe. They have a big selection of coffee roasted in house. We picked up a bag of their whole bean morning roast. It was ok, but a little smoky for our taste. This place has not just coffees and teas but also other local items that are women owned, organic and, have charitable causes, they have great popsicles of all sorts of flavors that are so unique and delicious. The vibes here are amazing. The inside is super vibrant, colorful, and welcoming, especially with the music playing. The baristas were extremely friendly and helpful with our orders. I want to preface this by saying I am not an avid coffee drinker, I just got into it recently. After drinking coffee maybe 4/5 times from Dunkin my friend tells me "you're doing a disservice to yourself. Let's get some real coffee" so we come to Rise Up. I only drink iced coffee so I ordered a medium caramel iced coffee with almond milk. It was 100 times better than flavorless bean water Im used to from Dunkin. The ladies that work at Rise Up are so personable and nice :) and they made my drink quickly. It was smooth and didn't have too much ice which I appreciated. They also use paper straws which I personally find annoying but I think it's a great idea to reduce plastic waste! Definitely not annoying enough to knock off a star. Overall a really nice spot. The employees have always been nice and I'm a fan of their avocado toast and açaí bowls. Decided to try something new and I wasn't disappointed. I made the mistake of thinking their breakfast burritos were small so I ordered two. They are jammed packed with filling. I was pleasantly surprised. I have a huge appetite and I was full after the first burrito. I got the rise up burrito and the Tito burrito-add sour cream and avocado. Both were absolutely amazing. I wish I didn't live an hour away but every time I'm in Annapolis, I will come here!!! They come with a spicy red sauce and a salsa verde. I don't eat spicy food so I only ate the salsa verde which was so good. I'll have to get extra next time. I also got a lemonade which wasn't that sweet or lemony. It tasted more like lemon water with a little sweetness to it. But it was so refreshing and it cut the richness of the burritos so I didn't mind. I'll have to actually try their coffee drinks next time. If you order online, the drink will be inside on the stand with the napkins, and you walk out back to the food truck for your food. read more

Only took a few sips to notice I was on to something. Rise Up Coffee is a new welcome addition to my coffee catalog. I pray my family at Philz coffee shop don't read this but I'm feeling Rise Up Coffee....they have the neighborhood coffee shop vibe down to a science. They even have an honor system where you can pick up a cup of coffee and put your money in the jar and go about your merry way...prices are on par with other craft coffee shops...if you want the cheap stuff you know where to find it. I didn't notice too many food options so I presume coffee is their main squeeze and it's nothing wrong with that if you're a coffee lover like myself. If you're in the area feel free to stop by. Rise Up is amazing! They are known for their coffee smoothies and it's for good reason. These hit the spot. You can get a classic coffee smoothie or add banana or chocolate. Love this little coffee shop. I went yesterday and had a mediocre experience and had some time this morning and wanted to try again. So I will give you my experience for both visits. I work in coffee and wanted to know more about Rise Up! I went first on a Sunday afternoon. I thought it's the weekend I will get good service and an idea of what this place is about. Parking is tight and if you are coming from Whole Foods just be prepared to manage the left into the parking lot. I like that they put spots in the front. I think they did the best with the space they have. The two baristas were very nice. There was no one sitting in the store hanging out. I was overwhelmed with the smell of cleaner. I couldn't smell the coffee, which one thing I love about going to a coffee shop. It was actually so overwhelming we did not sit to drink our coffee, we had to leave. The nitro was delicious. Smooth, not abrasive, not too bitter. And I had a cappuccino. The coffee was great. Smooth, sweet, the milk was ok. Foam was a bit bubbly, not creamy. I also observed some off-putting comments from teh baristas. A couple clients were ahead of us asking how many pumps of sweetener goes in a beverage, and they stated only one. And then she went to bash that Starbucks puts in way too much and the barista jumped in on the negative comments, saying Starbucks is crazy and they make beverages overly sweet and that it wasn't good. Not sure why they think it's ok to talk negatively about other businesses, but I was off put by it. It's never nice to be negative. Then while the barista was making an Americano for a customer, she asked the other barista if it was one shot for a small, and she said she thought it was.. and there was clearly a "Rise Up" company cheat sheet behind her on the wall. I am sure they are working with new baristas still. But anywayysyyyyyysss.... But the coffee was good. I would definitely come back for the coffee. Today, Monday Morning about 0900, I came in to sit with my laptop. Every seat was taken! One woman even took up three seats at the window bar with her set up, Bah! But someone got up when I went outside and I came back in. I wanted to feel out the store. There is free WiFi. There is coffee on the go at a drip coffee bar set up. Not sure how often they change it but they seemed attentive. When I went to the register, there was no line. Lots of cars, and looks like you could park behind the store too. I selected a maple pecan scone, it was yum but a bit dry, and I ordered a couple shots over ice with a bit of half and half and vanilla. The coffee was delicious. She put a bit too much breve and not sure if there is vanilla in it, but it was delicious. I used the restroom here too - there is only one - but it was clean and big. The staff was friendly, the store was not overwhelming with cleaning agent. The store didn't smell like coffee either. . . but maybe because they had not ground anything recently. Well I will be back for the coffee. The staff was much friendlier today and seemed attentive. There was only two people on staff today. I look forward to learning more about their coffee on another visit. read more

Amazingly great brew and it's local which makes it even more delicious. You won't find the crazy frappes and shakes the 'buck' the national brand. They also have a coffee liqueur that is now made in collaboration with Blackwater Distillery though you can't but it here. Seriously good coffee. read more

As someone who stays away from dairy, it's hard to find a decent espresso beverage made with alternative milk--they always seem to taste off. Rise Up has perfected the almond milk cappuccino. Been here a few times. Each time they're so busy and unable to handle volume. I only order black coffee, yet I have to wait behind a long line of specialty drinks before I can grab my coffee and go. Coffee tasted good. The store had an overwhelming smell of cleaner. The barista asked the other barista how to make a drink(the drink making instructions were behind her) other barista told her what she thought was supposed to go in the drink(1 shot in a small) which generally is two shots. Also the barista openly trashed other coffee shops in the area. I hope the Monday staff is better as this was not a great experience. Was so excited to try this place because of the good reviews and we went at 2 on a Sunday coming back from a hike. The lady at the front was very cold and not super nice. I asked if they could warm up the croissant I got (surprised I wasn't asked) and she took it back to be warmed up. I saw one of the employees making a drink that looked really good (she was drizzling caramel all over the top and down the sides of the cup) so I asked what it was and said I would take that. I get my croissant, they didn't warm it up, and my drink didn't have any caramel syrup at all. Very disappointed and don't think I'll be back. Would rather go to Starbucks and pay more for better customer service and get what I ordered. Coffee was pretty good otherwise so it's a shame. read more

This is my all-time favorite coffee ever! My understanding is they started in Salisbury and my daughter graduated from there. So I would always stop and get some on my way to visit her. I went to the location in Annapolis today and everybody was so helpful and friendly. They have some new swag and new coffees. All that are adorable I got the coffee smoothie and they were able to make it sugar-free and it was delicious! Definitely will try the Matcha in the chai next time. read more

Okay, so I will get out of the way that I don't love the location of the Annapolis Rise Up- it's pretty small inside and there's virtually no parking. With that said though, those things don't even matter. The line moves extremely quickly so you'll be in and out in a flash if needed, and I'm telling you: you will not find a better cup of coffee. I love that they're just about straightforward, no frills, honest-to-goodness delicious coffee. The aesthetics of the shop are adorably fresh and modern, but you also don't feel like you've stumbled into a hipster fantasy. There'll be no art in the foam of your latte, but you won't care because you'll just be focused on how delicious it tastes. Another bonus is the variety of milks available- lactose-free options include coconut and oat, which are becoming increasingly common but still aren't available everywhere. Do yourself a favor: stop in for a cup of coffee (there's an express station at the back if you're in a rush and have cash on hand), and pick up a bag of beans to take home too (they'll happily grind them for you if needed), because you'll definitely want more. read more

I went to Rise Up for the first time today. It was 81 degrees outside and probably 90 degrees inside. I ordered a coffee but couldn't stay inside because it was so uncomfortable. The indoor seating is also very limited. I doubt I'll be back anytime soon. read more

The inside didn't have a lot of space to sit down due to COVID but there were a few tables outside. The staff was really friendly and happy to make suggestions because the menu is so large. I also thought it was unique that there are XL sizes available because I have never seen that size at a coffee shop before. Really enjoyed my iced latte! read more
