When I first…read morebegan seeing her, I had just attended 2 impatient facilities, and had never struggled with mental health before. Everything was new to me. I had previously had appointments with 7 other psychiatrists who only took 15-30 min to talk with me, and I feel like they didn't actually care, and weren't putting in enough time to get my correct diagnosis. However, Tisha sat down with me for an hour (or more) and really took the time to listen to me, and ask thorough questions. She also took the time to explain (in basic language) what was happening in my brain (and didn't just refer me to online sources like so many others do). She's also not just trying to push pharmaceuticals, and she carefully lays out options and gives patients some autonomy in their own care. Tisha was very clear from the beginning that pharmaceuticals are great, but to really improve, I can't just pop a magic pill. I'd have to make some other lifestyle changes (which she also laid out clearly). I've never met a more THOUGHTFUL and CARING doctor ever. I truly believe she is the gold standard of psychiatric care. All they are concerned with is lining their pockets! First visit $195, then $15 blood draw, then paying upfront for ordering of pellets of $122.54, then a follow up of $175.50 then finally the insertion of yet another $195!!! There were 2 other blood draws of $15 each. I had been paying $300 from a specialist up until just recently she raised her price to $350. And yes, that's pellets and insertion. I paid WVNC almost $800 to feel like shit!! Dr Huynh did not listen to me, she reduced the dosages to my detriment. Then, when it was time for next insertion, they want to do a follow up, then pay up front for the ordering of pellets, then another appointment for insertion. WTF!! But, then Dr. Huyhn tells me she thinks we need to wait because of my levels. Again, did not listen, I told her my history. Thank goodness I was able to get with my previous provider who knows what she is doing and I will be feeling better soon. My mistake for taking convenience over experience. Additionally, they push their supplements. Worst experience ever. I am too old to deal with incompetence and doctors who don't listen. If that is what you want then WVNC is the place. Think twice and real hard before going here; they don't listen, push crappy supplements and charge an exorbitant amount of money.

From what I understood it was for people that don't keep their appointments as in not show up. My appointment was on Monday. I canceled my appointment on Friday because my husband surprised me with a little road trip. Clearly more than 24 hours ahead of time I called to cancel my appointment. Asked for my deposit back and I was refused. The $25 is completely nonrefundable. If I were to make another appointment in the future, they would use that towards my appointment, but that is not what I wanted. I would've liked my money back and when I make another appointment for them to take another deposit that would've been fine. I will never walk foot back into that office because it's under principal at this point how dare they keep my money?

He also assured me that I did nothing wrong and therapist aren't allowed to reserve unscheduled spots here. That has also been my experience in the past with my old therapist. If I didn't schedule out far enough, then another client could schedule and I'd just have to miss out or schedule the next available day that that time was open. It's first come first serve so what Stacy did was wrong. I was then paired with Dr. D whom I saw for a few months and definitely felt much safer. Then due to availability, I switched to Sally and wow. She is the perfect therapist for me. I don't plan on leaving Desert Sage while they have a gem like Sally there. My husband and I both briefly saw practitioners from Desert Sage last year. I worked with Kristin a few times over the phone and I found her to be incredibly impassionate, if not a bit stuffy. She didn't seem interested when I expressed specific concerns, nor did she seem interested in committing to some sort of a diagnosis. I realize that may sound strange, but I've struggled with my mental health for basically my entire life. At this point, I can guarantee I'm not neurotypical. It took a lot to actually see a practitioner. Perhaps I should have been clear of this when I walked into the room (or, um, answered her Zoom), but I wanted professional feedback so I could truly identify some problems, and then work on them. She was happy to try medicating me after a single, brief conversation, but wasn't willing to try diagnosing after 4 sessions or so. I finally figured seeing her just wasn't worth the stress, and have gone back to sweeping things under the rug and playing doctor with myself. Not ideal, but I've found more benefit in doing that than continuing to work with her. My husband, on the other hand, worked with Daniel for substance abuse. Of course my husband liked him at the time, considering I found Daniel to be incredibly unprofessional and generally removed anytime I sat in for their sessions. There was never any talk of trying to identify a diagnosis or triggers when working with Daniel, which I figured could be helpful when it comes to substance abuse. Maybe that's not unusual in psychiatry, I honestly don't know. Regardless, seeing him always felt like a waste of time. I felt like Daniel wasn't interested in his work (IE helping people, which is kind of shitty on him). Though he was happy to bring up his own poor life choices during one session, like not setting himself up for retirement. Super professional, Kirsten and Daniel. Desert Sage. Thanks for the help. Our lives have been changed. (Not really. I'm quite obviously being sarcastic here. I really wish I could have those copays back. We've had to figure things out on our own, and you wanna know something funny? The military has helped by husband get his head screwed on more than these pompous lazy asses. Kind of an ironic, perhaps even unoriginal twist when it comes to tacking addiction, but the government managed to get more positive results from him than this practice did. The government?
