To start the massage was pretty good for the price. She did not push to hard but the right pressure for the massage. There couple of things that could have been better. One being on your cell phone during the session not a professional when dealing with a client. The second is asking for more on the tip. What I mean is I will always tip 10 percent but if the service is better than the norm then I would tip more. read more

Rising Sun is by far one of the best massage places I have been too in the Washington area. Anna and Lucy are both amazing and you can tell they are well trained and massage with wellness as the main goal. They have individual rooms with the ceiling bars is you want deep tissue. They offer other services but my husband and I just get 90 minutes and have not left with any negative reviews at all. This establishment is very clean, respectful and trustworthy. I find it sad they have sings in the walls that say don't touch the massage therapist or ask for sexual favors, because there is nothing about Rising Sun that would make a person feel that they were selling sex. The massage was GREAT, both my husband and I walked out of there feeling super refreshed. The place is small so you can hear customers come in but it doesn't take away from the massage at all. I came to this place, and of course, they charged me right away, probably because they know people wouldn't pay after such a terrible experience. Let me be clear, I am experienced in getting massages and have tried various places and practitioners. This was the worst. 1. From the first minutes of the session, the masseuse just sat on his phone and caressed my back with one hand. 2. Also, when he moved across my body, he touched my buttocks, which is very unprofessional. I felt sexually violated. 3. I got the impression that he doesn't even know how to give a massage. After 10 minutes, I asked him to do a Deep Tissue massage, trying to be kind, thinking maybe he didn't know which massage I had bought. But after that, nothing changed, and I told him I was done. Today was my first massage at Rising Sun, my masseuse was Nancy. It was the best Asian style massage I've had, and I've had many. The massage was a hybrid of East Asian and Western style. Nancy used similar techniques on both sides of my body but she also focused uniquely on muscle groups and problem areas. It was not a rote and memorized massage like many Asian style salons. Approximately two-thirds of the massage was face down. Nancy has firm hands and the perfect combination of pressure and a calm pace that maintained a sense of purpose. Her pace never seemed too slow. Most of the time was spent on my back, which needed the most work. The face down portion was the best non-therapy massage I've had. The face up portion of the massage was good but not exceptional. It was typical Asian massage, some face/neck, light hands/arms, light legs. The premises were adequate, nothing fancy, clean, and organized. My only critique of the salon is I could hear slight noise from the barbershop next door. read more

The deep tissue massages are great! I've been here twice this year and have had relaxing experiences. Julie was great with pressure points and relieving tension. They do a combo of deep tissue and yoga like stretches near the end. She also use her legs to knead out some kinks in your back/step on you but it feels really good! If you feel uncomfortable with that idea you can always tell them upfront. I was kind of surprised at first but I slowly let into the flow of stretches and it got better. I wouldn't recommend CBD for additional $10 because I didn't feel a difference or smell anything pleasant from the oil. read more

Great massage the lady was awesome but it is very loud and hard to truly relax with customers constantly walk-in and being loud. I'm the middle of my massage I was asked if it was ok if a man could finish my massage because there was a customer who came in and did not have a appointment and said that he was in a rush and demanded a woman masseuse. This is my #1 spot for an asian massage. Very clean and professional. I have been trying to catch the woman I first got a massage from because she was SO STRONG and my back felt so much better and didn't hurt for almost a week. She only works weekends and I don't remember her name. The few times I had a male therapist and he does a phenomenal massage, as well. Be aware that like all asian massages in STW/Lakewood, if you are not comfortable being mostly naked and exposed and your butt being massaged then these types of places may not be for you. That being said, once you begin to feel the pain going away, You might change your mind. They are very professional, discreet even when body parts are more exposed and I never feel uncomfortable. Sometimes he (i keep forgetting to ask his name, too) just knows when I need some stretching too and he will stretch my arms amd legs. Communication can sometimes be a challenge but every time the massage therapist asks many times if the pressure is ok or where they are massaging. And if the person doesn't speak English then someone outside the room helps translate. She has really good hearing . HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Terrible customer service .. drove 25 miles for my massage confirming over the phone first that I had a Living social coupon. Upon arrival I waited past my appointment time 10min then I once again wanted to confirm my coupon and as I was undressing was told they would not accept it . But the would give me a massage for a $10 discount price off full price. First off, I want it to be known that I have no experience going to massage "parlors" so I have nothing to compare this location to as my only back massages came from physical therapy when my lower back tightens up so bad, it has sent me to the ER. L&I closed my claim and the location I get my MT at was all booked up so I took a chance at this location close to my work. The lady was very nice and I informed her prior to going back to the room of my lower back problems and if this was something she has experience in and she sais she did. The $60/1 hr massage itself was so-so. She kept asking me, "You like?" during the massage and I kept saying, "Yes"......after a few times I got the feeling I was being setup for something. When my massage was over and I went up front to pay the $60 to another lady at the register, they lady that gave me my massage was standing oddly close to her and as soon as I signed the debit receipt and handed it back to the lady at the register, the one that gave me the massage, quickly took it out of her hands and looked at it and then glared at me and said, "Hey ! You no give me tip! You give me tip! $20!! You give me $20 tip!!!" Now I knew why she kept asking me if , "You like?" The massage was maybe worth $60 but surely not $80. read more
