I rarely do negative reviews for local businesses, especially for massage parlors since it can be very tiring and labor intensive. I'll try and keep it specific - but this was an experience from 4 different people who all experienced the same thing. 1. The massage did not start on time even though we got there early. We also asked for the aromatherapy oil since they provide it for free if it's your first time. The lady told the next set of us that it's usually $10 but they'll give it to them for free (making it seem as if it was something they didn't do for the first set of us because we knew and asked for it). 2. They ended the massage right "on time" not giving the full 60 min. 3. Every 10-15 minutes they would hit you - which is usual for making the slapping noise to let you know they're done with that section. However they did it SO much and actually slapped my back so many times my friend asked me if I was okay at the end of our massage. 4. The lady that my sister and I had would lean on another part of your body while massaging you and it was painful and she would get heavy over time. 5. The massage was uneven, meaning that they would massage one arm or leg a certain way but not massage the other side either in the same spot or at all. 6. They answered calls throughout our massage and one lady left the room twice at one point, they also did this for the other pair as well. 7. At one point the lady I had sat on the table and was practically petting me with no pressure just up and down my back with one hand... Pros: 1. They give you water at the end of the massage 2. After a mediocre massage....where too much oil was used, the massage therapists physically prevented me from leaving. They said I had to tip them. I felt very intimidated. I did not know if they would try to hit me or what. I feared for my safety. They were yelling at me and blocked the door. I normally do not leave reviews, good or bad, but if I could leave a -5 star review I would. This was my first time at this massage place. I got there a little early, like ten minutes. They make you pay first, including tip and they charge a little over $5 for using a card. They do not have a blanket to cover you, just a towel. The room was cold, the bed was cold though eventually, the bed did warm up. No relaxing music. His phone was in the room and was pinging on a table nearby. They do not ask if you have any spots you want extra attention, nor if there are spots that are sensitive. He had only started the massage and was a couple minutes in and hurt me twice before I told him I was done, that this was not my expectation of a massage place, and to get out of the room. I didn't even stay to try to get reimbursed after waiting for them to come out of the backroom for over 5 minutes. My bad for paying first, as I should have just walked away, since the service usually is not paid for prior to receiving it. read more

I love this place! The ladies are super professional and amazing at what they do. I need deep tissue massages and I mean DEEP (elbows and a lot of pressure) because of my back and neck problems and they always help me feel soooo much better! I've seen several different women here and all of them were equally good. It's typically hard for me to find good people to give the massage I need without leaving me feeling worse or just hitting the wrong spots and I am so glad I found this place!!! They listen to your needs, so make sure to tell them if you need lighter or deeper pressure. With the type of massage I get I feel terrible with how hard they have to work but totally worth the money spent! I return here frequently and am always pleased with my visits :) read more

Had a couples massage today. My wife got a 90 minute relaxing massage and I got a 90 minute deep tissue massage. Mine was $150 and my wife's was $120. We paid prior to our massages tipping $20 each. The massages were very good; our only complaint was that, one, they spoke more than we would care for, and two, my wife's massage therapist left to answer the phone twice and once to greet someone at the door. All-in-all she probably lost 10 minutes of her 90 minute massage. At the end of the massages the therapists began pressuring us for a larger tip, explaining that a good tip would be 20%. We always tip a waiter or waitress 20%, but when you pay $300+ for a service, a tip is a courtesy. After several minutes of high pressure we tipped them each another $20 (for a total tip of $80) and left. They got a larger tip but they'll never get our repeat business. Really too bad because we enjoyed the massages so much. I guess we'll continue looking for our forever massage parlor. Update: The owner, Lulu, called.and was extremely apologetic for the conduct of her employees. She offered us a free massage. We told her we wouldn't be comfortable coming in after giving a negative review but she assured us the two therapists that pressured us for more money would not be involved in our massages. We agreed but we have since reconsidered; looking through the negative reviews the majority of them were about the size of the tip, so this is a trend rather than an anomaly. While we feel that Lulu's apology was sincere, a free massage will not change the initial experience. It would be very difficult ever being comfortable in that establishment again...especially not understanding what it being said. So...in closing my review stands. The massage was the best deep tissue massage I've ever had, but the rest of the experience was terrible; I'm actually disappointed in myself for giving in and giving a larger tip. read more

My wife and I decided last minute that we needed a couples massage. It was a Friday night and I knew our chances would be slim. I called around and everywhere was booked. Nirvana was further from where we live, but I decided to give them a call. Boy I am glad I did. Lulu was super friendly on the phone and they were able to accommodate us for 30 minute foot massage and 60 minute couples massage. I will admit I was a bit Leary at first. The place is clean and has a friendly atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Both Lucy and Lulu were fantastic, they talked with us during the massage, checking on our comfort level and made a few jokes. Their massage style is a bit unique but you will get no complaints from my wife or myself. We came away relaxed and generally feeling like we had a great evening. I would highly recommend Nirvana.
