Now this was an original Toyota alternator which LKQ supposedly thoroughly inspects and repairs. Haaaaaaaa. You would estimate the alternator had another 50k miles and several years to go. However, it went bad in less than a year, but of course over the warranty period which is only six months. Buying another alternator is bad enough. The problem is the labor which is 2.6 hours to remove and replace on the 3.5 liter engine. I should have gone to Auto Zone, O'Reillys, or Rock Auto. Anywhere but LKQ. Learn from my mistake do not buy parts from these charlatans.

When I returned to fix the issue, the cashier told me I only needed to return the front rotors and purchase the correct rear ones. However, doing that would have invalidated the promotion I originally received. It didn't seem like the cashier understood how the promotion worked, and to make matters worse, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the mistake at first. To resolve it, I insisted on refunding the entire transaction and having it rung up correctly from the start. Although there was some hesitation, once everything was redone properly, I received the full and accurate refund. It was over $45 difference from what I was initially being offered. Mistakes happen, but the resolution process shouldn't leave customers shortchanged or confused. Double-check your parts and your receipt to avoid issues.
