Stopped into Joe's on our way through town earlier this week. The shop had a wide variety of roughly 15 savory and sweet pies to choose from and the staff was welcoming and patient. We picked up a cherry and Key Lime. The cherry was bursting with fresh fruit filling and the crust was flaky and buttery! The key lime was probably the best I've had. Crumbly graham cracker crust and tart creamy filling. My only regret is we didn't pick up another one! read more

We have tried the blueberry/peach pie & Southern buttermilk lemon pie & quiche Lorraine. I gifted a blueberry crumb pie to a friend and she loved it! All really well made and delicious. I have been baking pies for decades and prefer good pie to cake anytime. However, most store purchased pies have dismal crusts and sugary mediocre fillings. Not so here!!! We love these pies and for good reason. They are made with quality ingredients and taste absolutely delicious. I do not live in the area, but am there on occasion. Will definitely be back when in the area and will try to time my visit for when this shop is open! Thank you Joe!!! read more

Holy smoke! I recently tried the Chicken Pot Pie and it was killer and fresh! Anytime you can see the whole herbs inside the pie you know you've got a home-cooked product. I also grabbed a pumpkin-pecan-praline and a chili pot pie for later in the week and look forward to cracking into those too. They also had Homespun chili--which appears to be made out of a small storefront in Dumont--that was excellent! I got the vegan Thai Mango Tango and it was the perfect blend of sweet with just a bit of spicy. I'll definitely be back! read more

Their pot pies are to die for - beef is a family favorite (it's straight up beef stew in the most heavenly crust you could imagine ), the chicken pot pie is shredded and delicious, and the sausage and peppers one should be a game day staple ! Dessert pies are juuuuuuust as fabulous ! Personally, I liked the ratio of the small pies over a full sized one. Their Pecan Pie is what dreams are made of. We've also tried the lemon blueberry (major hit), coconut custard (they sprinkled fresh toasted coconut on top ), and the apple pie (which had these delicious square chunks on top). I never used to like pies. But then I found Joe's craft pies. 1st of all, Joe and his wife are just lovely, friendly and accommodating people. I have never had anything less than a fabulous pie from their shop. Their savory as well as their fruit pies are off the charts amazing! The quiches are to die for! They use only the best and freshest ingredients. Nothing is loaded with filler. Tons of chicken in the chicken pot pies and tons of fresh fruit in all the fruit pies. I've given the pies as gifts and and every single person has has thanked me profusely! And now they are Joe's craft pie fans as well. On a 1 to 10 scale, their pies are a 20! Go! This place is a must. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed the lemon blueberry, apple walnut, apple pecan and the strawberry rhubarb pies! The crust is amazing-and the fillings are generous. My husband and I stumbled across this pie shop while walking in Westwood. First, the owners are extremely friendly, the place itself is immaculate! We purchased a chicken pot pie, coconut custard and chocolate fudge pecan. As soon as we got home I sampled the coconut custard. It is to die for!! Think of the best homemade pies you've ever eaten and you'll have an idea of how good Joe's pies are. I bought dessert pies here for family dinners at Thanksgiving and Christmas and everyone loved them. My favorite so far is their apple pie (they make at least 3 different types) but all their pies are delicious. They also make small size pies that are perfect for a one or two person household or if you want to sample their offerings before buying a full size pie.
