The view was nice. The prices were OK. The food was OK. A tour guide suggested this place so we thought it was going to be great. They tried to shake us down for a service charge table for the table tablecloth. Across the street is a restaurant with a better view nice music more attentive service. My brother pointed out the menu as soon as we were dropped off by our taxi. Since it was the first restaurant we saw, and the area was full of tourists, we decided to explore to see if we could find a place more "local". We could not and decided to return. As soon as we walked downstairs and into the restaurant i new we made the right choice. Right away I was transported to my childhood when I would spend the summers near Sorrento with my family. The ambiance felt the same as all the restaurants we would go to. We managed to get there right at noon and we were able to grab a table by the window with the 5-star views. Absolutely one of the best meals I have had in Italy. Went there about 10 years ago and was very happy to find it again under the same management. The service was impeccable and the food is amazing. First the homemade Sourdough bread is the best outside of San Francisco. The baked seabass with tomatoe sauce and potatoes was perfection and the side of sliced tomatoes with Italian seasons and olive oil was an excellent accompliment. My wife had ravioli with tomato sauce which she loved. The view from a window table is wonderful. Definitely give this restaurant a very high recommendation! read more

Cute spot overlooking the Marina Grende in Capri town Very family-friendly.....(very!) Service is fast and attentive. This location is before you arrive at the main Capri Piazetta. Just past Ristorante Jovis and down the stairs. Food very good and prices reasonable. Cons: -no outdoor seating (ask for a table by the window when you reserve) - lights are a little bright so this is not a romantic spot -and the Muzak is sort of laughable: ItalianVersions of old American standards. Check your bill. They charged me for a 13€ dish I did not have (not sure if this was sneaky or a simple error) but removed it when I asked. Great place for an easy meal with your family read more

We loved lunch here so much we did it twice during our three day stay in Capri! Entering the town of Capri feels a little like being cattle herded into Disneyland. There's really only one road in, basically everyone is a tourist, and the entire town is themed white fancy with Italian coastal town souvenir and restaurants, all bustling with day trippers. So, all that to say, the lineup of tourist style restaurants can feel rather overwhelming and it'd be easy to overlook the sign right as you come into town pointing you to a restaurant two floors down from the road. We only knew to look for it at the recommendation of our hotel and some friends who'd been there during a previous trip. The restaurant itself is incredibly serene, even during peak lunch hours and boasts a gorgeous view. Without reservations we got window seatings both meals, and the bulk of the restaurant remained empty throughout our seating. My favorite dish was easily the scialatielli - a handmade green noodle similar in weight to a thick fettuccine - coated in a thick tomato garlic sauce and served with fresh shrimp. At €22 it's not a cheap lunch but it is f-ing delicious. The pizzas were also a hit with our group, ranging between €8-14 and everyone agreed the crust was the perfect amount of crunchy and chewy. Could easily split just a couple of pizzas over three people and be pretty full, portions were very generous! Regarding drinks: the €18 fallenghina white is crisp and refreshing. Be aware this restaurant, like many in the area, charges for water. So when in Italy, and on vacation...wine over water! read more

Pros: Food was very good. Nice view from the restaurant. Cons: Were asked to tip on top of service charge automatically added to bill. Waiter made it uncomfortable by loudly asking for a tip and waiting for us to write the number on the check. He did not seem pleased with additional 10% we tipped on top of service charge. Is this begging for additional tips common now in Italy? Haven't experienced it before, and it's happened many times here in Capri including people telling us how much to tip them (laughable amounts) and saying so up front before any service is provided. If not for this I'd highly recommend this spot. Sick of feeling taken advantage of as tourists here. read more

The most important thing about this restaurant is that YOU NEED A RESERVATION prior to going to dinner (especially during peak tourist season). Without it, you will still be allowed in BUT you will be treated worse than trash. I dont leave reviews but I have to for this one because of our awful experience: 1. They shoved us in a literal corner by the door where there was no space to fit even 2 people. We asked if we can move to the other unreserved table and they gave us an attitude just for asking and vehemently said NO 2. The waiters had zero communication with each other and we had multiple people asking the same question and they became rude when we told them that another waiter already took care of it. 3. During the end of our dinner, they disappeared from our area and we had to hunt someone down to ask for the cheque. It took them about another 30 minutes to produce the cheque itself. 4. One of the waiters was extremely clumsy and spilled water on my plate and did not bother to replace it. They disappeared before i had a chance to ask them for another one or if they can at least give me a napkin to wipe off the water. It was ok in the end though because the main course came in its own plate. Also, the same guy knocked over my glass of water, essentially emptying the water supply we had. They told us they'll replace it but lo and behold they disappeared from our area and never appeared again. They told us since it was their mistake, they'll make it free but by this point we knew they will charge us for another water, so we let it go. All in all, it was the WORST restaurant on the island we've ate at. The food was mediocre but the bill was hefty. And you'd think with them charging that much and being in an extremely touristy area, they'd have better manners and customer service! Do yourself a favor and find another restaurant to eat at. There are plenty of high quality restaurants on the island that outperform in the service and food category and avoid this dump at all costs! In hindsight, I wished I saved the 56€ and starved for the night. read more

This is a difficult rating. In regards to the food, the location with view, and level of service and attention from staff, 4.5 stars across the board. The challenge is we have traveled Europe and Italy many times. We know when a service charge is added and when it is not. We add for great service. In this instance we had shake down from the waiter for more. Not sure if this is the norm. But let's just say there are may options and will not return. Diners be aware. read more

We walked into this lovely restaurant before the formal dinner hour and with no reservation. They kindly gave us a great table with that spectacular view of the harbor toward Vesuvius. It was Capri-typical in pricing, but Northern California costs about as much with drinks and dessert, and this is Capri! Our waiter was very attentive, very sweet and treated all of his table the same way. As the reservation crowd came in, I felt it was the patrons, certainly not the staff that seemed affected, but it's Capri! I had handmade pasta with clams and lemon, it was delicious. The mixta salad had tender lettuces carrots, tomatoes and was enough to share. My husband had the octopus,,which was grilled and delicious, even for the non-octo lover. From the moment we walked in the smug attitude from the waiters should have made us realize it was going to be a terrible experience. Between the nasty looks we received when we informed them we didn't want to drink wine to the comments about our food choices. We were the first ones in, the last ones to get our food. It took 25 minutes after they cleared our table just to get the bill after we flagged them down. Food was subpar but the service made everything worse. This place is NOT LGBT friendly. WOW! I wish there was a scale for 11 stars because it would've gotten twelve out of eleven stars! The gnocchi was amazing it was so good that I wished I ordered more. The pizza came in the first fifteen minutes we were there. If only I was staying in Capri longer because I would've been going there every night. I hope I can come back and go and live there.
