The restaurant is very nice. Employees are very friendly. Service was fast and efficient. This restaurant was the closest we have found so far to our hometown in western ny. The pasta sauce was very good. The garlic knots were delicious. Only negative was the chicken was swimming in sauce which normally I would love but the sauce was incredibly salty. Think someone went crazy with the addition of salt.. the sauce wasn't lemony as I would expect. I have rather high expectations of what we called chicken French in my hometown. Hometown is well known for the dish and this one did not hit the spot. I gave the rest of the meal to my husband who ate it figuring it was senseless to let it go to waste. I won't ding this review for a bad version knowing I am comparing to original version of the dish. I did try my husbands Alfredo and my sons pasta. Both were very good. Think next time we come I will skip the chicken and choose something else read more

Guys! I remembered to take pictures of lunch- after a few bites! Mamma mia's italian restaurant in Seymour is so good. Had a little snafu with our order to go, but made it right and sent free garlic rolls too. I had the deluxe calzone, hubs had a gyro with onion rings and of course the rolls! All excellent tasting and we had a picnic at the park so it travelled a few minutes and was still 100% awesome. Nice folks too! read more

Made the trip to Seymour and glad we did. The location is in a strip mall next to Kroger so if you forgot that they don't serve wine yet stop in there first, worth the $3 corking fee for BYOB! We were greeted right away and seated very quickly in the dining room area. Brightly lit, a mixture of tables and booths. They serve you garlic knots when you sit down. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She answered any of our menu questions and was very helpful with letting us customize our order. My husband ordered angel hair pasta with marinara, which came with a salad (pretty big for a side salad). I ordered eggplant parmigiana and asked for angel hair and Alfredo (and salad). Food came very quick, portions were very large and food was very very good, the seasoning was perfect! Prices were so reasonable. We will definitely go back! read more

We had family get together here. Service was amazing and the food was good. First time there, only 2 little things. When I ordered the mamas trio (don't remember the exact name) they were out of the manicotti, fine they sub with ravioli but they put under the cheese of the chicken Parm and i thought it wasn't there but I found it eventually.2 our second round of roll were a bit under done. I visited Mamma Mia's for the first time tonight and I am so impressed!! Literally they deserve a 10/10. The food was so fresh and amazing, but my favorite part was the staff. You can tell they operate like a family and enjoy every minute of it. The owner and the older woman there were so kind and funny and made me feel so comfortable. Our server was amazing, and shout to the other waitresses who randomly stopped by to make sure we were always taken care of. Even though we were there late they made us feel welcome. This is definitely my new favorite restaurant and I will be back. I recommend them to anyone wanting amazing food, the best staff, and a friendly happy atmosphere. We have been here several times. The food has always been great along with the staff. As of last night, our opinion has changed due to a roach crawling out of the to go box that waitress handed to us. We notified the waitress. Not sure if she told anyone about it. First of all, the food was absolutely spectacular. It was very refreshing to find such an authentic, delicious meal in such a commercial-food saturated area. My family and I have been staying in the sevierville area for the past few days, we're from out of town, and all of our dinners have been fast food or chains. But at mamma Mia's, you won't find basic, premade dishes. Anybody should visit for their homemade marinara alone. It is delicious, and unlike anything I've ever tasted. Second, the service was great. Our complimentary bread knots came out in a timely manner and everything else that followed was also timed perfectly. We didn't have to wait on anything. First the service was wonderful- very sweet staff. Husband liked the marina and his mama's trio meal. Our salads had brown lettuce and big hunk of cheese just plopped in the middle very disappointing. I liked the marina too but my eggplant Parmesan tasted like it was cooked in dirty grease. The worst part of the experience is all the flies and gnats! I only ate a few bites because it felt so dirty being there. The calamari was also fresh but I didn't like the way it's breaded. Service: the service was great no complaints at all. Ambiance: it's in an old service garage which looked strange. Great little place hidden on some really cool back roads on the way to Pigeon Forge, TN. We were headed to Dollywood from Nashville. Looked on Yelp for a good Italian place and found this gem. It is next to a gas station on a rural road. Not to far from town and a pretty drive. When we arrived we were greeted with warm welcomes and happy faces. On the "specials board" there was a message. It read; 10% off with church bulletin. I LOVED this. It was a Sunday. We ordered the fried mozzarella sticks. We think they should be called "fried mozzarella LOGS!!" They were HUGE (see pic below). They were very good, but not as hot as they could have been. The marinara sauce served with them could have also been warmer. Our entrees were Cheese pizza, Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, Chicken Parmesan and a Ruben sandwich. All were very good. The entrees were very hot and great portions. Our server was great. Just tried this Italian restaurant in their new location in Seymour (next to Kroger) and it was delicious! We had the lasagna and eggplant parm and both were soooo good!! The entrees were large so we left with tomorrow's lunch. The entrees also came with a fresh salad and warm garlic bread, served with marinara. Okay we have had a few meals here. We never had the pizza, so I don't have a clue if it's any good. I've been looking for a place that has good gyro meat, and didn't taste like that pre-sliced store bought stuff. The waitress tells me they have the meat shipped in, and it's one of the huge cone things you have on vertical broiler. I'm all in after hearing that. The gyro meat has a good spice to it. The tzatziki sauce is on the side which I like. Too often at other places the sauce is added way too much. With a dine in meal you get tasty complimentary garlic knots and marinara. I'm not a pasta eater, so I take my noodle sucking family's positive praise of their meals quality. For the dear readers of my reviews should know I look at all things at rating a sit down restaurant. Food=5, service=5, atmosphere=2 it's attached to a gas station, inside is blah, and it doesn't have any touch-less bathroom features. read more

Best Italian food I've had in years. The pizza is really NY. I grew up in NY and it is the first time I have found real NY pizza off the East Coast. All the other items I have tried are great as well. The lasagna is perfect as is the ravioli. The make their own sauce and dough. The servings are generous and the prices are reasonable. My wife and I moved down here from Chicago, two years ago and have been looking for a decent Italian restaurant/ pizza place. We were driving by and saw this place and decided to stop in for lunch. We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer. It was outstanding. It was definitely homemade, not frozen from a bag. It was perfectly done. We also had a pizza that was delicious. Best that we have found down here. I ordered a baklava to take home. That waitress said that It was homemade and that they had just made it in the morning. I got home and had the baklava. It was probably the best I've had. It definitely ranks with some of the best Greek restaurants I've tried in Greek town in Chicago. This restaurant is definitely going in our restaurant rotation.
