Overall an fantastic meal from the food to the service. A wonderful experience.
There is a huge number of possible places to eat in Piazza Bra', and we are so glad that we chose this place. We liked the look of the place, the menu looked good and the staff were friendly, not trying to force us into a seat, just being appropriately helpful when we asked things.
Once we were seated, our server was prompt and friendly, patient with my pathetic attempt to communicate in Italian, answering in Italian when she thought I would understand and using English when my poor Italian failed. She was patient and helpful.
For the appetizer we had prosciutto with mozzarella basil and tomatoes. It was fresh and delicious. You could tell the mozzarella was freshly made and everything was delicious. Even the bread was good that they brought to the table in a white paper bag.
For the main part of our lunch we had a mushroom pizza. This was one of the best pizza I have ever had in Italy (A bit of a surprise in the north). The crust was the perfect combination of bite and chew. Sauce was delicious and the flavoring they used with the mushrooms was to die for, I could have eaten a whole bowl of just the mushrooms they used.
The Prosecco and red wine we had were delicious and an average pour for a single glass.
I even had an espresso at the end of the meal, and I am so glad I did. I expected it to be good, this is Italy after all, but it was the best espresso I have had so far on this trip (and I have one after a lot of meals and sometimes just stop in a shop for one as a pick me up after a bunch of walking.)
Overall one of the best meals we have had in a long time, in a great location with way above average service. read more
