Why is there not an option for zero stars here on Yelp?…read more When I started experiencing odd neurological symptoms last year, my GP suggested I see a specialist. I picked Dr. Lussky out of my insurance directory. Why, oh why? First of all, I would like to say that I have never had the dubious honor of being kicked out of a doctor's office before seeing Dr. Lussky. I came to him nervous and upset, but with every faith that he could help me. He was rude and condescending from the very first minute. He would ask a question and then not even allow me to finish answering it before interrupting me with another question. After only 5 minutes, his brusque demeanor led me to snap at him, I mean, if I knew what the problem was, I wouldn't have bothered to see him in the first place, right? He slammed my folder shut and told me he would not treat me, and that if I did not leave, he would call security. There is a phrase in internet-land, and it is called WTF? When I arrived home in tears, shaking and completely freaking out over what had just happened, my phone rang and it was Dr. Lussky. He apologized for what happened, not really attributing it to anything but asking me to come back. I did. He preformed an exam and referred me for an MRI "to rule out" MS. Then he promptly went on vacation. I was left to panic and worry until he returned and got around to calling me with the MRI results, which indicated a pretty good chance of MS. He transferred me to the receptionist to make an appointment. The next one was weeks away. Now mind you, I had just been given the news that I could have MS. I politely asked the receptionist if Dr. Lussky might be able to squeeze me in sooner, in light of my MRI results. She came back to the phone and said, "Dr. Lussky said you can wait." I can wait? You just dropped a bombshell on me, after our already rocky start, and I can wait? I'll pass, doc. I was able to find another neurologist who fit me in the very next day, who was polite, and respectful, and did not have the personality of a rabid pitbull. The bad news is, yes I had/have MS. The good news is, I don't have Dr. Lussky as a doctor.

Gotta deduct another star…read more Do I still love Dr. Simionescu? I think so. I'm not really sure, as I have not seen her since March. Conversation with office person in March: Office person: Okay, so the doc needs to see you in 3 months, here is the referral for your annual brain and spine MRIs. Oh, she has Saturday hours now, would you like to schedule your follow-up at this time? Me: Saturday hours? Rock on! I would love to! So... I made the appointment for June something or other. A week before the appointment, I get a call. The doc is canceling my appointment, she won't be in, would I like to re-schedule? Sure, I say. Can I still have a Saturday? Yes, I am told, and the appointment is made. Or re-made. Today, I get a call canceling my August 31st appointment. Seems like it took the good doc this long to realize she won't be in on the 31st. Me to caller: You know, this is the second time this has happened. Why do you offer me the option of a Saturday if she doesn't want to work on a Saturday? Caller to me: These Saturday hours are new to us. New? It's been 5 months since you first offered it to me! As it stands right now, I didn't make another appointment, telling the caller that I will give it a few more months and hopefully by then, the doc will have made up her mind whether or not she wants to work on Saturday. I did not want to risk making yet another appointment only to have it canceled. I don't handle rejection very well.

I've been having some medical issues as of late and my parents suggested I get another opinion…read more They have always had really good connections as far as qualified and competent doctors, so I believe they got this recommendation from their other doctors. My appointment was with Dr. Cacciopo and from the moment I called the office to make the appt. and answer the preliminary questions, they were really friendly and nice. This treatment continued throughout the whole process. Dr. Cacciopo himself was young, "hip" and nice as well. I felt he really listened, explained all my options thoroughly and gave me piece of mind as I weigh the various options related to my ordeal. I'm actually very grateful I visited his office, as his diagnosis and approach is different than my first doctor, so it may be something more serious than previously thought! I highly recommend this office if you need a neurologist, and are a little freaked out by your health condition. He and his staff will treat you with dignity and put you at ease!

Dr. Iacob is part of the Neurosciences Division at Central DuPage Hospital (also referred to as…read moreCadence Physician Group) and I have been seeing him since December 2011. Before he came to CDH I believe he worked out of either Oak Brook Terrace and/or Melrose Park (Gottlieb Hospital). The office location is very nice - large office on the 4th floor of the outpatient center at CDH. I see him Dr. Iacob @ 4 times per year as I have had an ongoing serious migraine condition for over 10 years. Dr. Iacob is said to be "very popular" with patients so you must schedule appointments well in advance to see him. If you are also a BOTOX patient like myself, the office also recommends separating "general follow-ups" and the BOTOX appointments so you may have extra time speaking to Dr. Iacob if you need to discuss medicines or just other general issues. Dr. I or his staff will always get back to you with MyChart email questions, prescription refills, or if you wish to provide him updates in between your office visits. I am very happy with Dr. Iacob overall and I have no plans of stopping my care plan with him unless he leaves the facility and/or some other unforeseen circumstances occur. Dr. Iacob is a cool guy, very professional, and can even be funny at times :) ** I must also mention that Dr. Iacob's nursing staff (nurse practitioners, including Nurse Angela and Nurse Karey M.) are also fantastic. Several times I was having some questions or issues and needed some resolve, and while Dr. I was unavailable, his nurses have always returned MyChart emails or phone calls quickly and were very NICE and THOROUGH, never did I feel rushed off the phone. ONE OTHER TIME, I was having some on-the-fly issues that were bothering me and I called to see if I could somehow bump up my appointment by a week or so or get into the office quicker - by chance the office called me back and told me that while Dr. I was just too booked up, Nurse Karey (who still has all my records, notes, etc.) was able to see me THAT DAY if I wanted! This is a huge bonus to have a nice nursing staff! Would highly recommend Dr. Iacob. I also had some tests done by Dr. Kazkaz (one of Dr. Iacob's colleagues), and he also was very nice. Would recommend him, too.

He performs surgery out of Hinsdale Advocate Hospital which is an excellent hospital with an even more excellent staff. Prior to seeing Dr. Kazan, I was told by 4 different neurosurgeons, 2 at Duke and 2 at Northwestern, that I needed a triple cervical fusion. Obviously I didn't accept that or I would not have gone to 4 surgeons for an opinion. Dr. Kazan was finally recommended to me by a friend who seemed to have a similar issue with the same result that I had. Dr. Kazan looked at my MRI that all the other doctors looked at and said to me "you don't need fusions yet, you just have a bone spur." I guess it's about the money for many other surgeons!!! A week later I had my minimally invasive surgery. I had no pain after surgery in the hospital, no pain when I returned home and absolutely no pain since the surgery, which was 4-1/2 years ago. This doctor is all about doing the right thing, not about how much more money and notoriety he can achieve by performing an expensive, unnecessary procedure. I only wish he would be around the next 10 years for when I need another spinal surgery. I would go to no-one else but him.
