I went in yesterday to check because, as every review of this place states, they will not answer the phone. They lied about the status of my prescription. I know because as soon as I left, I called my doctor's office and told them what they said. They told me the employees here were lying. Further, I've been a Rite Aid pharmacy customer for over two decades. In Bakersfield, my Rite Aid had twice the patients and I never once experienced the issues this store has, which they blame on the number of patients. It's a disgrace that these people even have jobs. And btw we all notice that this store is next on the Rite Aid chopping block. When that happens, Cal City will be left with no pharmacy. That sucks, but it will be good that all these incompetent and, quite frankly, evil employees will be out of a job. May they end up homeless. read more

The greed business model is alive and well at Cal City Rite Aid. This is why when you need a same day Rx filled and you ask for a time estimate they wont answer. If they say the estimated wait time is 4 hours then they risk you leaving to drive to another city for the regular 20 minutes to fill yr Rx of Walmart or really any pharmacy. The added problems of a busy pharmacy with only 3 chairs broken AC means lawyers should hang out there. I almost fainted, there was no chair available for the lady old lady with the walker. I give this place 0 stars because i have been on hold for more than an hour. i'm calling the pharmacy to see if my medication was done and they won't even answer the damn phone. My dentist called me in a prescription from my dentist office for a tooth i have to have surgery on so i sent my son to that Rite Aid pharmacy to pick up my medicine he's 33 yrs old mind you he has a valid California drivers license that he showed them but they would not give him my medicine they said his last name had to be the same as mine and he need my identification card too. something is really wrong with those pharmacist in that Rite Aid im 54 yrs old and i have chronic medical problems including fibromyalgia and I've not NEVER been able to get my pain meds from this pharmacy it's ridiculous if i could i would give this pharmacy a -1 or 0 read more

This review is about the Rite Aid Store (non-pharmacy). The store is always generally clean, well maintained, and fully stocked. Prices are a bit high, but if you stick to their "sale items," "store ads," "coupon cards," etc...prices are then fair and reasonable. Lines are generally short and quick. Staff are always friendly, polite and professional. The one staff member that "stands out" is Barbara. She is always very warm, engaging, and gregarious. Kudos to Barbara! read more

Long lines are a regular thing here. Prices are high, and sadly it's the only place in town to pick up a lot of the items available here. On a number of occasions there are people begging or trying to sell you puppies outside in their parking lot. read more

Rite Aid in California City is the absolute worst.. It seems like because they are the only pharmacy here they can jack customers around.. Every time I've called in my refill they have yet to have it ready.. Is always come back in an hour.. Here we go again, nothing but constant problems with this pharmacy on a monthly basis, one may ask why I Continue to use this location, because it's the only pharmacy in this area . This is regarding a monthly maintenance prescription whereas refills are available from my Doctor yet for unknown reasons this pharmacy never has the prescription ready by refill date causing us having to make unnecessary trips trying to obtain this prescription. This time around on a Thursday they needed to order the medication, okay no problem. I hear nothing back in three days so I attempted to call for a refill status, of course after NUMEROUS calls no one would answer the call, resulting in yet another unnecessary trip to the pharmacy on Saturday only to be told would not be in till Monday, so frustrating as it will be three trips by the time prescription will ready. I only wish the problems with this pharmacy could be resolved as we have no where else to go in this area. read more

Absolute garbage! They never ever have my medicine ready when they claim, they don't even bother to start on it until at least 2 days later. They basically ran Cal City Pharmacy out of town and then realized they can't manage all the prescriptions in Cal City, Mojave and Boron. Despite not getting any of my medicines on time, they still have the nerve to give me a low RX score. I'd love to see this place gone TBH and another pharmacy who can handle the work to show up. read more

Every time I pick up through the drive thru they always tell me there is a wait so after about a 20 min wait I go inside and NO ONE is in line.. right now as I write this ive been waiting for them to help one person for 25min. I will never come to this rite aid ever again. I came to fill my prescription I am medical and kaiser and they are telling me that they can't fill my prescription. Because they don't use medical or kaiser. I have never had a issue with rite aid but the lady's at rite aid were and not trying to help. The staff here ( in the store part) are very nice and always helpful. Since we do not have much choice in this town to go to this kind of store I do believe they take advantage of that and raise the prices on certain items such as dog food. The Pharmacist is a very rude man. I now drive to Lancaster 40 miles to the Wal-Mart if I need anything from the pharmacy. Thank goodness I do not need medications on a regular basis. read more

Rite-aid has gone through a renovation recently, it looks fabulous! It's a good idea to have a rewards card to get merchandise that is on sale. There is an extensive of beauty products, the best in town. The alcohol selection is large also, with great sales too. Rite-aid also has a pharmacy, with polite pharmacists that are willing to help you with any health needs. Rite-Aid also has the only ice cream counter in town. They serve Thrifty brand ice cream. The wait lines are seldom long, and the staff is quick to call for help when needed. read more

This is the worst rite aid pharmacy. Unprofessional techs, who are only there to get a paycheck. They could not care less about people. I have waited 7 days to get my prescription, and my Dr office could never get ahold of them because they don't answer thier phones. This place is a joke. Omg worst pharmacy EVER. dropped off a scrip at 10:30 am was told it would be a few minutes since there were 4 scrips in front of me. Came back at 6:30 pm still not ready. so that's it for me. I told them just give me my scrip back so i can take it to a pharmacy who knows what the hell they are doing. Can't stand this rite aide. Every time I go in, the send out the rental cop out to follow me around like I'm a common criminal. I'm a mother of 3 and a nurse, and I get very irritated when I go in. Horrible pharmacy. On hold for 45 mins and counting, this is the 3rd call. They are slow and confused. CVS blows them away. WORSE pharmacy I've ever seen. Switching to Palmdale ASAP, I was driving there before, and thought I'd try these guys because alot closer. We came in here twice today. It was awful. Workers were unfriendly, the store looked messy, only one cashier was open with a line of at least 8 people. It took a good 15 minutes for someone to wander up from the back of the store and open a new register. This happened both times we were in today. There was someone stocking shelves artistically - I think he could have stopped that for a bit and helped customers. I also pulled a wine opener off a plastic strip holder that was clearly labeled $1.19 each. When it was rung up, it came up as $4+. I asked the cashier about it - all I got was a "Sorry" and he leaned back on the counter. It was just rude. read more

I had the same problem with the pharmacy. They did not have my medication which is fine. What shocked me was when I asked the lady at the pharmacy counter when it would be available she literally shrugged her shoulders with out saying a word and just looked at me! I almost laughed because I thought she was just messing with me but she was actually serious, the aforementioned shrug was her answer. Every negative review of the rite aid pharmacy in California City California is spot on even the old ones from 2014. Unfortunately they are the only one in 40 miles. It's enough to get panic attacks knowing you have to get a prescription there. Same ineptness day in and day out for years, but especially so when the other pharmacy in town closed a year or so ago. I have had enough and will travel 45 miles to get another pharmacy from now on. They have lost all my business and it's a lot. Amazon for all other stuff needed for a store like this. It's a constant and ever changing battle with these people, you cannot even drop a prescription off before the due date because someone complained about their ineptness that they were the ones that lost the prescription, I believe the customer. I'm on monthly pain medication and see my neurosurgeon monthly. I got a new script for Percocet, went to drop it off and Gabrielle the pharmacist says to bring it back in two days because it's early. The date on my medication bottle was 13 sept which should be filled 13 October not 15 October, 30 day script. I questioned her and think I hurt her little ego. There is no way I waited 2 days to pick it up. So today the 15th go to drop it off, counter person sets it right next to Gabrielle as she's counting pills, promptly folds it walks around the corner and places it a drawer, after she ignores it I asked the counter lady after 16 minutes, what is the problem she goes to Gabrielle, Gabrielle looks on her workstation and it's not there duh I told her she folded it and put it somewhere around the corner, she finally gets it goes into the system than proceeds to tell me it can't be filled cause they are out of stock and bring it back Thursday another 4 days from when it should have been filled. Hello, this is pain medication. Why didn't she tell me on the 14th, it will take me four days after my last pill to get it filled. They don't care that you are in pain. Wonder how many people they had a hand in dying because they couldn't get their medication...there are only 3 not so inept workers in that pharmacy and they don't wear a white coat. read more

My family is changing pharmacies! We have had enough. Staff in the middle of helping us find stuff for my sick child, said he'd be right back...finally after waiting quite sometime I found him on break outside!! Months of arguing with the pharmacy to get medication prescribed while they insist we take something different (on more than one medication!). Calling to say medications are ready and then not finding them and lying about calling. This is the tip of the iceberg, we are done. read more

My gosh if I had to stand in line any longer, clean shaven when I went in, 5 foot long beard when I left. However, the fight while waiting was entertaining enough. People are just rude. I will say that the employees seem to be empathetic, and management seems to be at fault for the long waits in line. Go somewhere else if you are able. read more

This store is now remodeled to a more "going green" feel. It was much needed since its one of the most legit, never have to worry of it closing down here stores. I use this as my pharmacy and it may look better, but staff is still the same. I always use the drive thru to pick up and drop off my prescriptions, I never know how long I will wait but I usually take my kids and they are more work going in then sitting and pushing a button lol. There seems to be new staff inside, they are very kind, never had unkind at the register. Same goes for when I pass by a stocker working, always kind words to say, to me that speaks a lot for cal city. I'm always one for a good bargain, if you haven't already get your wellness card and sign up online as well, two different things there. The more points you earn, more free stuff, and prices on your shopping after a few months drop dramatically, definitely recommend this for locals, and constant visitors. And I also recommend the shoes, I loved Tom's but hated how expensive they were and worn out easily. They have Tom look alike slip ons, with actual soles, if you don't care for the name but the look, 9$, or half off that is awesome. Always get compliments on them, can't go wrong. This rite aid has pretty much everything in stock I ever needed quickly, even jarred hummus I got the guts to try, and actually decent. Just do yourself a favor and sign up, and get the card. read more
