I have never ever dealt with extreme unprofessional pharmacists or pharmacy managers- Sami whom I spoke to. I never get irritated and definitely a lot of patience. I had hip surgery and they wouldn't release my prescription as it was controlled and I had a partial filled at another rite aid because they were out. My doctor sent in a month supply so I can go out of town. Never had this issue with CVS and I'll never come back here. Letting everyone I know about this location and will stick with a different one. This has to be the worst pharmacy I've ever had to deal with. The Pharmacist Chris should not be dealing with anyone's welfare. My wife was out of her seizure medication and I understand she's on Medical. So Sat and Sun was having seizures. So there were some issues with Insurance and getting the Meds covered and Chris refused to call Medi Cal and just asked me where I wanted my wife's prescriptions transferred to and hung up. Not only horrible treating any situations with zero compassion . I was in severe mouth pain after I left the ER with the roots hanging out of my gums and teeth and the pharmacy was about to close. My husband ran in as they where closing and and they filled my pain meds for me even though they needed to close and wanted to go home! I've used the RiteAid on Manzanita for several years and just have to comment on their exceptional customer service today while I'm getting my travel shots. Pharmacy staff have always gone above and beyond and are extremely helpful. One situation involved me needing to pay for my son's Rx out of pocket. The pharmacy person helped me get a refund and found a way to get it covered under insurance. I'm not sure other pharmacies would have gone out of their way to do that. Ever since the new pharmacist took over the pharmacy has been lacking. Every time I go to pick up my prescriptions I have to wait. It does not matter if I call it in and pick it up the next day or two days latter, I still have to wait. The reason people call ahead is that they just want to pick it up and go! I moved across town and unfortunately had to start getting my prescriptions from this location. Why is it that every time my Dr sends a prescription in the morning, it's not ready when I get there after 5pm?!! Why do I still have to wait?! The petite, older Asian lady cannot understand or communicate English very well. I end up giving up when trying to ask her about anything, even tho it's important. The pharmacist seems to hate his job. When he has to do a consult, he says "anything you need to know?"...um idk, you tell me...aren't you supposed to be educating me regarding a NEW rx, I've been prescribed?? And Sam, young man, I don't know if you're high or this is like one of your many jobs but wake up sir... you have to actually speak to the customer when helping them not just stare at them & let them talk to themselves. The ABSOLUTE WORST pharmacy I have EVER been to. I was forced to have my prescriptions sent there after my local wonderful pharmacy was literally driven through. I have gotten my prescriptions refilled twice. Both times the pharmacist and/or assistant were rude and lacked any empathy or human kindness at all. Called my latest refill in five days ago. No notifications that it was ready. Called to check in it and the rude pharmacist or associate answered the phone and was so rude I transferred my prescriptions to another location. Stay away. They don't give a crap about their job or their customers. Shame on you Rite Aid for letting them continue to treat customers like this. read more

An awful pharmacy. I have issues almost every time I need to get my prescription. It's either they won't let me pick it up until the morning I am out, then won't have it filled until the end of the afternoon. It's so rude and dehumanizing to call and try to get help with something they hang the phone up before you're even realized the conversation might be over. I am so disappointed I live next to this pharmacy and have to drive further to a decent one. So frustrating every time I need to get something filled. I literally got 86'd from this location because they wouldn't give me my medication all at once and I got upset about it on the phone. I'm sorry I don't want to go to Rite Aid once every other day for 8 different medications, but I have better things to do with my time. The worst part about it is they completely screwed up my medication while I was in the middle of dealing with a doctor that was on vacation so I couldn't get my medication after they kicked me out of the store and they wouldn't transfer it. And then they were fucking assholes about not transferring it . They literally withheld my medication from me because they don't know how to do their job. This Hass to be a HIPAA violation or something. It can't be legal to withhold somebody's heart medication from them. Either way, I'm glad all these places are going out of business, it's exactly what they deserve. Enjoy the unemployment line when this place inevitably closes you rude inconsiderate lazy pricks. My husband likes the nostalgia of getting the 2 scoop cones at Rite Aid...we reminisce of when it used to be "Thrifty's". We're getting sooo old! I did want to mention that this is the one place in town that sells "Carmichael" memorabilia t-shirts - you know, the toursity "Someone in Carmichael loves me" type. I've found this place to be A-OK for getting prescriptions filled. You can refill meds online, plus you can sign up for auto-fill, and they'll call you when your order is ready for pickup. The staff is professional and efficient. Also, they're open 7 days a week. That's way better than the pharmacy at the Raley's across the street. However, I won't shop at this Rite Aid for anything else, because I've had too many ridiculous and disappointing customer-service experiences there. One time, I told one of the service reps that I needed for him to unlock some printer ink for me. (They arbitrarily lock up select items here. There's no particular rhyme or reason.) This dude look annoyed and said he had to go get the key. Several minutes later, he had not returned. I went to look for him; he had started helping customers up front, apparently without giving a second thought to the fact that I would be waiting for him. He clearly didn't get a rat's tuchus, either. More recently, I went there to purchase a couple of items. I paid for them and took them out to my car, then remembered something else I needed. I went back in and bought the additional item. As I left, I was followed by the store's security guy, who essentially accused me of shoplifting the items I'd purchased previously. (I had to pull the stuff out of my car and show him its contents and receipt.) It was especially baffling because the store was mostly empty, and the cashier who sicced him on me could have asked the other cashier if I'd paid for my stuff. If the pharmacy weren't so convenient, I'd stop going to this Rite Aid entirely. read more

This Rite Aid pharmacy is ALWAYS hit or miss. At times pretty efficient filling prescriptions (but only when there are refills left), but if you have no refills left they are amazingly bad. This is the 3rd time I have used the phone in refill system when I have had no refills left and was told on the phone answering system that they would contact the doctor at the next day. This was 10 days ago. As for the reason to leave your phone number to call you if there are any questions, they NEVER seem to call back. I have asked the front counter person several times why ask for p/n's if they don't use them. Their answer: Um, we promise we will do better next time. I have received this very answer for the 3rd time in as many years. I don't know why the pharmacy service at this location is so inconsistent but I would NOT recommend it. I will look elsewhere to get my prescriptions and my families prescriptions (4 total) filled. ARE YOU LISTENING TO ANY OF THESE COMPLAINTS RITE AID??? read more

Mike the manager was such a dick to me, I will never go to that store ever again. I brought the wrong 2 pack of deodorant for my hubby & paid cash. I never got a receipt. Tonight I went in to switch to the same brand, same 2 pack & same price on sale for $6.99. He explained he can't do a return without the receipt but he can give me credit for the lowest price in the computer. $3.00???? WTF is that? So your going to rescan this and sell it for $6.99. When I went up to the cash register at 9:50 the gal that was at check out was on her phone the entire time. She rung me up then looked back down at her phone and kept texting. Then I asked her if I could use the restroom after all I did just purchase some feminine products for on them and the gal at the register told me I could use the restroom after the bathrooms were cleaned. Once the gentlemen came out of the restroom he informed me that although I purchased feminine hygiene from them I can not use the restroom because the floor is wet I informed him that there should be a wet floor sign and as long as he is not in the restroom I should legally because I am a customer be able to use it and he informed me that after the bathrooms are cleaned no one can use it for 30 minutes and that this is a COMPANY WIDE TRAINING Rite Aid has set in place for all their customers which is obviously a complete lie. You can deny your customer especially after buying feminine products the right to use your restroom. Horrible customer service and what a nice way of saying hey I'm too lazy to re mop after you use the restroom so I'm just not going to allow you access. I love this place I love walking around and looking at all the different new things they put up for get holiday or event coming up. I love eating my ice cream cone while standing in front of the liquor lol. Horrible experience I went into rite because I know they have ice cream service. Took the the cashiers far too long to serve me and my three year old child once served my son had to use the restroom we got the keys went to the restroom only to see it was a complete disaster in there. I have used this store for 5 years. The pharmacy is great and friendly and I give it 4 stars but the store front clerks are very rude and needs lessons in customer service. Today as I was trying to use my 20% discount coupon towards my purchase, the young lady who was working at store front snapped at me for no apparent reason. I had to switch from Walgreens to Rite Aid because the Walgreens pharmacy staff was so rude and disrespectful to me, so the next closest pharmacy to my house was this Rite Aid. Since I was so used to being disrespected and treated terribly I was just expecting the same treatment & then I had the most pleasant experience. They were so nice and helpful and I left feeling like finally someone seems to actually care about me needed my medications. They said I was one day early and that they couldn't fill it until the next day, so I said okay I will come fill it then. So when I came in the next day, I went to fill it & they already had it filled and waiting for me and were very polite and nice when I checked out with them. I never get treated so nice, Walgreens was so terrible and now Rite Aid is AMAZING to me. Very clean place as well, the pharmacy is a very nice setup and the entire staff was nice and helpful. I appreciated it more than they knew! I will now fill every single one of my medications here at Rite Aid. So thankful I found a place to go that I don't dread filling my prescriptions. Been going there for YEARS- decades.....NOT ANYMORE. I am having EVERY prescription switched to another HARMACY tomorrow. BECAUSE of CHEKO.....she can't sPEAK eNGLISH.. tried to give ME SUDAFED INSTEAD OF ACETOMYCIN...she tried to KILL ME. she kept insisting the doctor prescribed sudafed. instead of the correct drug....AND THERE IS A NEW YOUNG MAN (dark complexion) there who took my prescription Monday 5/2/2016 at 2 and said= come back in three hours- and when I did- that's when Cheko tried to tell me there was NO prescription on file- (NO ONE CALLED ME TO INFORM ME?) and then she tried to charge me $60 for a prescription that I paid $1.10 total co-pay for for the past 2 years.....DONE WITH THIS STORE AND THEIR SCREWED UP PHARMACY...... read more

What an absolute garbage dump. When I walked in the store the alarm went off for some reason. I don't know why, all I was doing was playing Pokemon Go on my iphone. If that weren't enough, when I finally decided to pay for the item I came in for, the cashier behind the counter treated me with suspicion and contempt and asked me if I set the alarm off when I came in. Do you honestly think I'd be dumb enough to steal something as soon as I walked in? I guess that's what I get for being a minority and being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Also, Arizona Iced Tea costs 99 cents, but here, it costs two dollars, even after I typed in the number for my (useless) Wellness card. Review for pharmacy only -- Twice I've had prescriptions filled with an incorrect quantity of pills... wasting my time ..... And every time I return there is some sort of wait in line...(of course that issue is not entirely their fault )... My 'favorite' incident occurred when I tried to pick-up and was advised of a consultation and 20 minute wait for a lunch (which I can somewhat understand -- I guess there aren't 2 pharmacists on duty) .... I had an appointment and advised I would return the next day ... When I returned the next day, they had returned my prescription to stock ! ... Another complete waste of time after having the pleasure of waiting in line 5-10 minutes beforehand... I"m not sure where else to go after reading about Walgreens and the limited hours of Bel Air across the street ..... I really don't think there's any place with much better service these days... it's a sign of the times.. ya just have to suck it up ! .. At least they have a "wellness" program !! ... is this an attempt to counteract the stress they cause by such poor service ???..lol read more

The store is clean and the staff is friendly, but... The pharmacists are prejudiced. My husband got a cut on his finger that required 10 stitches and was prescribed pain meds to be filled at this pharmacy. When I went to the pharmacy to pick it up, I was told that they had originally prescribed him Norco, but then changed it to ibuprofen, which he can not take due to high blood pressure, when the doctor found out he was taking buprenorphine. Buprenorphine is usually dispensed to treat opiate addicts. My husband is not an addict and in his case it is used for a dealing with a severly painful undiagnosed gastro-intestinal problem. He has been dealing with pain for many years, with near constant tests and referrals to specialists. While other types of pain relievers helped, only with buprenorphine does he not develop a tolerance. This pharmacy went out of their way to make sure the doctor knew he was on buprenorphine, assuming he was an addict and prejudicing another doctor as well. No questions, no asking about his medical history, nothing. My husband was told by his personal doctor not to tell other doctors that he is taking buprenorphine and this just shows why. Because of this, my husband spend a night in severe pain. This is not the first time he has been treated badly at this pharmacy. Routinely, when he fills his medication, he is treated rudely and questioned unnecessarily by the main blonde female pharmacist. She will not fill his prescriptions until the day before they will run out. If he had other prescriptions for pain relief such as oxycodone, hydrocodone, etc., other than buprenorphine, he would not get this treatment. He is already dealing with a debilitating illness and on top of this he is treated like a drug addict. I understand making a judgement call, but make sure you know the facts. read more
