In brief - if you do business with them (I hope to never again) please check every invoice and hope you interact with someone other than I did. Having dealt with them for 21 months, Invoices had the incorrect amount billed and over the past 6 months invoices with meds that I should not have been billed were incorrectly invoiced. Now people and companies make mistakes, but the person I dealt with was continuously rude and unwilling to realize they were incorrect until after many months of calls, emails and others having to get involved to help them see they were incorrect. Never received an admittance of error or mistake on their part, just agreement that the amount owed was what I had always said it was. Their business billing side needs training in many ways.

[End of update] I had a terrible experience with Alto Pharmacy and would strongly advise others to stay away. I ordered a medication that explicitly required cold storage, yet it was delivered without an ice pack and was completely warm by the time it arrived. Concerned about the medication's effectiveness and safety, I reached out to Alto for a replacement. Instead of taking responsibility, the pharmacist dismissed my concerns, insisting that it was fine at room temperature--despite the manufacturer's label stating otherwise. If I can't trust a pharmacy to handle medications properly or to acknowledge basic storage guidelines, why would I ever trust them with my health? This level of negligence is unacceptable for a pharmacy. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

They are quick and have multiple options available to get your meds to you which is super convenient - free delivery, same day delivery (for a fee of $10), or pick up at their location in SF. My second time filling a prescription at Alto is when things went a little haywire. When placing my order I was told there was no charge for my meds, only to be contacted ~2 weeks later that they incorrectly billed my clinic instead of me and I now owed $250+. I was fine with this but instead of giving me an itemized receipt to submit for my FSA, I had to message them for it and was told it would be e-mailed in one business day. Two business days pass and got nothing. I message again only to receive a snarky response that they legally have 30 days to provide me with a receipt. Maybe don't tell me to expect a receipt in one business day then? I'd only return to Alto if, after doing my research, they were the cheapest option for meds. Would otherwise avoid...

Transferring…read morethe prescription online, getting notified it was ready, and picking up the prescription was painless, and only one person was in line in front of me. The store in general honestly surprises me it's still open - I would say overall, 50% of the shelves were totally empty. If I was going for a retail item, I'd have no confidence it was even in the store at all. No wonder Rite Aid has been closed in so many states! I tried one of their self checkout stations to buy something else, and the station froze mid transaction. The employee said that happens all the time, but a minute later, the station had finished my transaction (without applying the $4 credit I had for opening a rewards account). The employee just said it would be there for later and made no offer to refund the accidental charge from their broken machine. Not impressed.
