#8 on a dutch crunch roll. Salami, mortadella and provolone cheese. So fresh!
    Deanna B.

I decided to stop by here on a Tuesday after a grocery/deli in Pescadero was closed. I had a hankering for a really good, mixed meat deli sandwich. I'm sure glad I came here! The deli counter is on the left as you walk in. I decided on the number 8. That one included mortadella, salami and provolone cheese. Their dutch crunch roll was fresh and perfectly paired with it. Upon my first bite, I loved the taste of all the Italian meats blending togrther with the cheese. Delicious! I took it out to eat at Poplar Beach nearby (Right off Hwy 1 or Main St, follow Poplar out to the beach). Even better. They had some assorted salads (potato, pasta or macaroni) for sale also but another time when I will be sharing. I grabbed a lemonade instead. They also sell a variety of Portuguese baked goods. I'll be back!

LOOk what they have!! Marianne's Ice cream from Santa Cruz. Try 1020: caramel ice cream w Oreos and fudge swirl..... oh wow

Cunha's is a required stop for our family! They have an aisle with their own BBQ sauce, marmalade, preserves & hot sauce!. Pomponio Ranch meat is here- FRESH local meat from San Gregorio. Marianne's ice Cream - sooooo good- dozens of flavors

Stoped here last minute while walking back to our car for a quick coffee. I ordered the Choco-Banana Mocha in a small iced. Then she gave me the ticket to pack I noticed i was charged for a medium. I asked her if it could be small because I didn't want a lot and she said "iced" is a dollar more that's why there's a price deference. I said ok that's fine. When she handed me my mocha come to my surprise my drink was hardly even cold and no ice. Pictures for reference. It taste ok but definitely wouldn't get coffee here again. Menu also doesn't specify "Iced" is an extra charge.

    -#5 Hot Pastrami & Swiss Sandwich ($11.50)- 3.5/5 stars

Great little store located in Half Moon Bay where you can purchase sandwiches and/or snacks, drinks, etc. Make sure to check in on Yelp for 20% off sandwiches! Cunha's Country Store was open on New Year's Eve, and I called in ahead of time to place my sandwich order. They had a short line for sandwiches when I arrived around noon, so call ahead if you want to avoid waiting. However, there were plenty of items to take a look at in their store if you do have a short wait for your order. They have a lot of different imported candy, chocolates, and chips, and I purchased a few different candy bars to try (prices ranged from $1.99-$2.99/each). I tried: -#5 Hot Pastrami & Swiss Sandwich ($11.50, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Vvblw5BYTbUv9p3geluEUQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Pretty good sandwich, and I really liked their Dutch Crunch bread. The pastrami was made well, and sliced thinly; however, the sandwich overall was on the saltier side. I would probably opt to order their tri-tip sandwich the next time around. -Portuguese Egg Tart ($2.50, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=BINFc-UVcPfvgnq7wt67gw&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Yum- great version of Portuguese egg tart, especially when re-heated in the oven. The crust was thin and flaky, and the filling was smooth and custardy- recommended! I would come back if in the area to try their tri-tip sandwich and check out their snacks selection. All staff were wearing masks correctly, and hand sanitizer was available. They did not have indoor dining set up, but there are a few tables outside. Parking was easy to find that day and there were plenty of street parking spots.

Yesterday 9/30 my boyfriend and I came into Cunhas to browse. We found artichoke bread from a bakery that was closed that day, being sold here. We bought two loaves, and decided we were finished shopping checked out. Cashier never talked to us or greeted us, when I tried talking with her she ignored me. Gave my boyfriend and I stank face so I thought "ok whatever, she hates her life or job, she's young. It's rude but it's whatever. cool. Idc, I have my bread and it's my birthday." We pay, leave, come home to Lathrop CA--an hour away and carry one. We're getting ready to make lunch/dinner preparing to bake bread and........it's molded. To be far, we bought two loaves and baked one when we got home but it was already dark and night and we didn't think to check for moldy bread because we shouldn't have to. The only reason we saw this was because it's 3 in the afternoon and sunny and beyond noticeable. I've been coming to half moon bay since I was 10, just turned 40, and literally every time I or my family have come in here, which is rare, the staff is either rude or something is wrong with the food. We only came here because literally every other place we go to was closed. This crap was 9 dollars a loaf. I know for a fact that I'll personally never come back here again. I'll just eat crow if every other place is closed. The food in house isn't good enough and everything else is just liquor. Just an extremely over priced corner store

Love this little market! Getting ready to leave HMB and felt like a good sandwich instead of clam chowder this visit. The pastrami is made by them on site as well as their pulled pork and tri tip. We did not try the either but I was inquiring about their sandwiches to figure out which one I wanted. After settling on the Pastrami, the lady being the counter said it was their most popular. I must say I was excitited to try it out. The sandwiches came out in a very reasonable about of time. After taking the first bite of the double meat sammie, I could tell they were made with a lot of love. The Dutch crunch was fresh and flavorful with the perfect amount of mustard layer. Together with the fresh pickles, pepperoncinis, lettuce and the double meat caused an explosion of savory goodness in my mouth. Both my wife and I were very happy with the meal and I had to go back and let the lady know how much I enjoyed it. Great store, great sandwich shop, great coffee and great market.

I really loved this corner store. I was incredibly surprised by the selection of items. Fresh cuts of meat, butcher shop, sandwich deli, all type of groceries even some unique items, with fresh fruit options. You could even buy shirts, sweatshirt and liquor. The aisles are tight and while they have a lot of options, the quantity is not great. But it's sufficient.

I can quickly grab ingredients for a healthy home-cooked meal, which has helped me save money and avoid unnecessary waste from overbuying. They even carry unique items like elk meats and savory jerky for when you're feeling a little adventurous. Their signature sandwiches are incredible--fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Also included blueberries, 2 green peppers, an onion, celery, snap peas, mini romaine lettuce (little gem), romanesco, spinach, and Nantes carrots. Their CSA model is a bit different than others I've tried. Rather than giving you everything from their farm, they source from different local farms. They also deliver which is probably why the price is a bit higher ($44 I think). And the produce seems to be a bit more polished. I mean the carrots and spinach still had dirt, the produce seemed fresh, it clearly still came from a farm. But it was like a smaller cut bunch of spinach tied together, not a huge more wild bunch mostly left alone. Strawberries and blueberries were in plastic boxes. I think the produce visually looked better (and the strawberries were noticeably more fragrant) than other CSA boxes which makes sense. These farms are producing them for Greenhearts which is essentially a distributor or buyer or something so aesthetics playing a bigger role than a farm selling you whatever they have directly makes sense. The produce was all good. But it kind of felt like stuff I could just get from a farmers market or something. The exceptions were maybe the romanesco - very beautiful - and carrots - I don't see the Nantes variety that often in stores and the roasted carrot dish I made was truly exceptional and the sweet carrots were the star. For me, I think I prefer the single farm model more and I don't mind picking up my produce. Given the coordination they have to do and the delivery aspect, I do think the price is probably fair though the quantities are generally pretty moderate. There's also fewer add on options than other CSA models if you care about that. Overall it was a solid box but I did wish there was more of a few items and you do pay a premium for the delivery and the visually nice produce.
