I've been coming here since it was called Sodhi's Cheaper in the 90s, and over the last 10 years, this place has lost all its purpose. The point of coming here was low price gas and goods. Now, the gas is too expensive compared to other gas stations on the coast, and the products they sell are completely overpriced. I bought a plastic bottle of coke and it cost me about $5. I'd expect that at an amusement park or a ball game but not at a gas station. Inside is cluttered, and they usually only have one cashier, so you'll have to wait forever to spend a fortune on junk food. read more

More For Less is a convenience store with an Interstate Gas Station in Half Moon Bay. The prices of gasoline seem to be the lowest in the area. However, they don't have diesel available! The gas pumps are very easy to access from both sides of the entrances. No problem, even if you are driving a large vehicle. The location is conveniently located very close to the Half Moon Bay State Beach. It is very clean and many parking available in front of the store too. read more

12/2/2019: More For Less' gas station price sign posted along PCH 1 caught my left eye's peripheral vision . . . "Regular gas=$3.19 per gallon!" WOT???? NO Freakin' WAAAAY! I screeched my truck's tires dodging the cars entering PCH 1 from the right side street, gunning my foot pedal, zipping into the driveway surely was a skillful, Mario Andrade, drifting maneuver! Waaaah~Once I entered the driveway, one gas pump at the end was inoperative while people were lodged into the remaining gas pumps in front: One car facing South and another car facing North within the same gas pump lane! Seriously, driving into an operative gas pump, truly was a harrowing, chaotic ordeal especially, contending with rude, contentious drivers who are an integral part of the "ME FIRST" generation! After waiting TEN FRIGGIN' MINUTES, I finally arrived at a vacant pump-only being rudely met by a man who rapidly dodged the other side's waiting line thinking he was going to snag the gas pump I've been waiting for TEN FRIGGIN' MINUTES! YAH! I almost honked my horn at him then, he realized he wasn't getting the opportunity snagging not waiting in line filling up his gas tank! Is it worth waiting TEN FRIGGIN' MINUTES and hassling with rude, "ME FIRST" drivers? Oh, yeah! This place is not rocking! I was getting ready to make the drive to Orange County from the Bay Area and decided to fill up here cuz the gas was so cheap, $3.17 per gallon for 87!!! So why not go inside the store for more deals???? Tea box with no tea bags. No hot water available anyways. Four to five exotic coffee blends, all cold. I even poured coffee on my finger to show the clerk the coffee was cold. She said if i let it ran a little bit it'd get hot. After it became obvious it wasn't getting hot, she said "there's a microwave over there". Sorry, I'm not big on microwaved coffee, specially out of a styrofoam cup. So I just paid for my gas and proceeded outside to fill up since that's what I came in for. 87 gas not working. The next tier of gas, 89, is $.30 more. So much for the big savings I went in for. Well, I live in OC so chances are I'll never be in there again. read more

They ripped me off for $30. I lined up to buy gas, but had to go in to pay $40 on my credit card. I told Andrés, the clerk, that I was on pump 3. But when I got to pump 3, it was off. I went back in to ask him to turn it on. He did. I went to pump, and it stopped at $10. When I went in to ask him again to turn it on, he said that I had pumped $20 before. But that was the car in front of me. He just shook his head over and over. His co-worker Maria said that they can't do anything once the payment is made. None of this makes sense. First, if they think that I already pumped $20, but I paid $40, why give me only $10 on the pump? Second, how can it be *my* responsibility, rather than theirs, to connect my payment to the gas I'm trying to pump? I think this is a mix of the clerk not knowing how to use his register properly plus a lot of belligerence by both clerks. Update: after many emails with the manager, Ana, I was reimbursed for the overcharge. Be careful with this business. read more

Okay, no. The luster has worn off and I've found that my initial excitement was way off-base. Cheap gas? Nope. Not if you pay with a credit card. I don't understand these gas stations that charge extra for using a card. It doesn't cost them THAT much to process a fucking card transaction....and gas stations are pretty much the only businesses I'm aware of that do this douchey practice. The book store down the road doesn't charge me extra! The grocery store doesn't! Cough medicine at Rite Aid? Nope, I pay the same as a cash customer if I buy it with my card. Other businesses absorb this so-called "processing fee" just fine. Sure, maybe they pass it back to the consumer by marking costs up a bit in general, but I doubt it's anything as ridiculous as this. It's called customer service. Apparently More for Less doesn't care all that much about it. Premium gas this morning is $4.25/gallon for credit card customers. That is TWELVE CENTS more PER GALLON than the cash price. I put 17 gallons in my car this morning. That comes out to $2.55 extra that I had to pay. Monkeys might fly out of my ass before I believe for one second that it cost More for Less a whole $2.55 to process that transaction. Sorry, but I'm done buying my gas here. There are plenty of other places that don't bend their customers over and rail them at the pump just for paying with a credit card. I think they've gotten their name mixed up. Spent $80 on gas and needed to use the bathroom and of course they have a sign up that says that the bathroom is "out of service", but isn't completely blocked off so I'm sure that employees can use it. I'm sick of businesses claiming their bathrooms are "out of service" because they don't want the hassle of cleaning it. I get people are short-staffed but that's not my problem. If I spend $80 at your establishment and need to pee I would appreciate the opportunity to use your restroom. We are not in the "thick" of the pandemic anymore and this should not be status quo. Dear More for Less: you have terrible parking and gas tank "set up." Please use some of the money you're clearing off your weekenders and make tanks 2, 4 and 6 accessible. Living in HMB, we have 4 gas stations, 3 of which are always extremely over priced. So when you find yourself in HMB and needing gas I always recommend More for Less as it's almost always the cheapest gas in town. Just like other reviewers have mentioned... make sure to always select Debit before running your card through as you will get charged the Credit Card price if you do not. Trust me, it normally only takes once to screw that one up to remember doing it! They also have a good convenience store inside, with a good selection of drinks, chips, beers, other snacks, and even freshly delivered baked pastries for .35/ea. Ideally I try to always get my gas on the "other side of the hill" but if I forget and need gas in HMB, than More for Less is where I go. read more

It has been almost a year since gas has been below $3, today we saw it at $2.79!!!!!!! Of course we turned the car around and joined the line. Well, we sat there for about 20mins and not one car moved! That was because two of the pumps were broken or maybe more? A bunch of cars never moved. I bought gas at this gas station before I headed to work. The line was so long already at 7:10am!! There are only 6 pumps, and each car has to wait in a single file line until a spot is open. The layout for the gas pumps is not user friendly. I literally waited 10 minutes before a spot opened up. There are two prices for gas: cash only and credit card. I paid with a credit card since $4.01/gallon is cheaper than back in the Milpitas area. Total purchase: 9.721 gallons x $4.019/gallon = $39.07 When I passed by this gas station, the credit card price was $4.11. I do not understand how the price went up $.10 in 8 hours.. crazy! This place definitely has the cheapest gas in the area, arguably even the greater bay area, BUT only if you're paying cash. I've gotten used to carrying cash on me specifically for buying gas, just as many other people mention that the card price is 10+ cents more than the cash price. My only problem with this place is that the curb near the last pump doesn't have much room for people to drive around if someone is filling up, which is pretty much always. I wish they had installed the pumps with just a little more room to get around. Overall, make sure you top off your tank here (paying cash) if you're driving by or just in the area. read more

I was in my way home from Monterey, so I stop with my wife to have some gas and use the Bathroom, while I was Pumping gas mi wife run inside the store in, the manager for the key to use bath, who was a Spanish man said that the owner told him not to let the People use the Bathroom She was really needing to go and ask Please let me use it and he refuse to let her use it. I walked out with my wife and went to the Mexican Restaurant right in front crossing the street, the were very polite and was not a problem with that. 5/30/21. So please don't support this more or less Busines They dont deserve to get money. Checkers can get really bogged down if they know someone in line in front of you. Also, they do the whole "cash discount" on fuel thing, which can trick you into paying more and I generally avoid just for the obnoxiousness of it. The Chevron up the road is comparable if you use Safeway gas rewards ($0.20/g off). read more

The store is clean and they have the necessities you need in a small convenience store. My three stars is for one reason and that is "cashier speed". There is no reason to wait 5 minutes to get a Mountain Dew. How can the line stack up to 5, 6, and 7 people. I am a cashier and can run customers with 20 items through the line faster than these guys can ring up a donut and a coffee. Let's speed it up guys! read more
