I went to 7-Eleven to grab mayonnaise and mustard like I always do and this man called the cops on me when I tried to walk out so I went to go buy something and he still called the cops on me and continue to take pictures of my license plate when I literally bought something just to get packets of mayonnaise and mustard which are free call me shithead never experienced anything like this in my life before really sad. Well, don't get coffee late in the evening at this 7-11. First, I'm not a regular customer here, nor am I a resident of Half Moon Bay (HMB). My job brings me out here once a week. A friend from high school used to work for 7-11, so I usually feel good about shopping in one. So I go into the 7-11 along Hwy 92 x Main to see if they have fresh coffee. I asked the clerk if he has fresh coffee, and he said the coffee is fresh. I check by lightly smelling it, and it's old. As I'm leaving, the clerk said I shouldn't smell the coffee as it can get other people sick. Well, no one is going to buy old, bitter coffee. I agree with the negative reviews for this place. My family and I love going to this 7-Eleven for some hot coffee after a little trip down at Poplar beach. There have been some incidents where I've witnessed this man right here kick out many people;He apparently loves to judge his customers. It was a gentleman who came into 7-Eleven, he walked right in and knew exactly what he wanted. As he walks up to the cashier, (this same person in this picture) the cashier himself asks for the cookies and immediately yells at the gentleman, "go away!" He was extremely harsh and disrespectful. The gentleman thought the cashier was going to scan the item (because why else would he ask for the cookies?) but instead the gentleman was kicked out of the store just like that, with no reason whatsoever. The cashier claims to be the manager and that may be so, but I believe in customer service and respect above all and this man definitely does not qualify as a manager and should NOT be a manager or even an employee if he does not acquire the proper customer service skills. I never thought I would encounter an incident like that until today. This evening as my family and I finished our usual trip down at poplar beach,(mind you my family is pretty big, 15+members), we went down to this 7-Eleven at Half Moon Bay. As I mentioned before, we love coming for the hot coffee but today the coffee was cold. I told the cashier that the coffee was pretty cold and I asked if he can warm it up. He then proceeded to take my coffee, took the lid off, and dump it in the trash. After that he looked at me in the eyes and said "no more coffee then". My cousin jumped in because she could not believe her eyes. We were astonished. Nothing like this has ever happened to us. We felt appalled by this mans actions so we did what we thought was best and left everything we were going to buy. He lost some big money with us because like I said, we were 15+ members with kids! So this was definitely going to be a big purchase. After we walked out he called the police and we actually decided to wait for the police to explain the situation for ourselves. My friend and I were greatly surprised at how excited we were to find a 7-11! In this tiny beach town where everyone goes to bed at 8 PM and there isn't a business open at night, not even a gas station, this 7-11 is open. And that's marvelous news when you're a night owl, grew up in Vegas and now live in Seattle and not finding something open for a drink or snack at midnight is like being on another planet. We were greatly impressed with the pre-made salads found in the deli section of the cooler. They were fresh and tasted really good! Couldn't believe it! Salad from a convenience store! Since we had 2 hours to kill between the wedding rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner, we decided to take a ride into Half Moon Bay which I don't remember ever going to (Toni-correct me if I am wrong here). Anyway, we were all thirsty and the daughter and man wanted a little ice cream treat,so when we saw the "Sev", we pulled into the parking lot. This location has all the typical stuff, but it is also the absolute most filthy store of this kind I have ever been to or seen. Think filthy floors, dried mustard lidded inside garbage cans, caked on coffee pots, no napkins or lids that fit drinks anywhere, oh the list can go on. Sometimes I wonder how I could get a job with the Health Department as I would be making them some big bucks with fines on the things I notice. We were just passing through Half moon bay for the night, had to run to this 7/11 for some emergency dog food. This location is a 24/7 store. There were no other customers in the store as it was pretty late at night, & only 1 cashier working. When my boyfriend walked in, the cashier was having a personal conversation on his Bluetooth headset. After being in the store for just about 2 or 3 mins, he very rudely told him to "hurry up so that he can close the doors"... he claimed it was so that he could go & clean the store.. while STILL being on his personal phone call ( Which he continued to have even while scanning our items! ) If you need to close the doors to clean in a store that claims to be open to customers 24 hours a day/ seven days a week.. have a 2nd employee working at the same time. Lastly, he asked my boyfriend if he wanted a bag for our items and when he replied yes, he just threw the bag down at our items!!? We're not the types to leave negative reviews for a business unless there is good reason to, but this guy was a real prick & he should NOT be in customer service. Judging by the amount of crap reviews that have already been left on this store, hopefully he won't be! This was a savior on a late Monday night when we needed to get a case of waters. Pretty much everything closes by 8, like the other reviewer said. There was like one other person in the store besides us and the clerk. The case of water was pretty hard to find. There were only like 2 and they seemed to be holding up a shelf in the back lol we slid one out and luckily nothing fell! I was also looking for a small bottle of mouthwash. Wow, there are a lot of reviews here about expired product, dirty premises, surly service. The only times I've ever been in this store was after midnight. All I ever bought was hot coffee, and a donut. The coffee was hot and tasty, the donut was fresh. The clerk was polite & efficient. It did not look that dirty, not spic and span, but OK. Maybe I was there on a good day. There are other "gulp n go" places in town. Safeway is open 24 hours and CVS until midnight. There is a 24 hour Chevron one block from 7-11.
