Can we please take a moment to thank or be kind to our Rite Aid pharmacist, tech and sales person? I don't often stand in line and hear people being rude, but I did today and it makes me so disheartened when this staff gets treated like garbage. Hey, I get it, people are impatient they have things to do. But so do all the other people waiting, helping or servicing. I just want to shout out Lenon the pharmacist who always checks to see how I'm doing, several of the techs who when they see me immediately know if I'm picking up for my kids or myself, and always are friendly, and the sales people who today kindly commented on my outfit. A second of kindness is all it takes. What do you get out of making someone else angry and miserable? And for the dude who was rude to the tech, what he didn't know or ASK, was that the neighborhood lost its power in the late afternoon until close to midnight. The pharmacy team had to do a massive catch up of orders and existing meds. Give each other grace, it's the least you'd want for yourself. Also, I seriously always appreciate this rite aid for always having our RX stocked and always serving with a friendly demeanor. By far the best Rite Aid Ive ever been to. Its small, friendly and welcoming. Staff are very friendly and always make a point of saying hi when you walk in the door. I know, this doesn't sound like any Rite Aid you've ever been to. I have been so surprised by the consistent friendly service and cleanliness of the store. The Pharmacy has been very easy to work with. I had been going to small local pharmacies just to avoid dealing with a Wallgreens, Rite aid or grocery store pharmacy's . This Rite Aid is truly different. Of course they have to follow the same rules as all pharmacy's, but they always talk to me with respect and seem patient and willing to help. Terrible!!!! Second time in a month that the pharmacy does not have my prescription medication in stock. Neither was a terribly uncommon medication. The most recent event from today is it, I'm done with Rite Aid. A prescription was sent about 10 days ago, they did not have the medicine in stock as I mentioned. I had to wait 2 days for them to get the medication in stock. However, they were 14 units short of filling the entire order. Staff says I will need to come back in to pick up the additional 14 units. 10 days later I call during pharmacy business hours, about 10:30 am to inquire about the missing 14 units. No answer, I leave a message, system says a call back will occur. About 2 pm, No call back. I call again and get routed to auto system and I request a refill, system says it will be available by 4:00 pm that same day. I go in the following day at 2:00 pm. Still no call from the message the previous day. Well guess what, the medication is not available even though the automated system says it will be. This is a pharmacy! 100% not acceptable! I am done, I will never step into a rite aid store for any purpose. Note, rite aid recently filed bankruptcy. The shelves are bare bones, the pharmacy stock is not acceptable, and it appears to me the "A" team employees have left too. It is very unfortunate that the inept leadership and management that lead rite aid to bankruptcy appears to be still running the business likely back into the ground. read more

My husband and I ran into Rite Aid to grab one item really quickly on Saturday night after having dinner in the same shopping center, and when we went to check out, we were greeted by the lovely Kathleen. I have to say, I have been in this Rite Aid numerous times before and have never been prompted to write a review because frankly those occasions were just not that memorable... until I met her. Most people today seem like they hate to go to work and despise their jobs. But not Kathleen. She greeted us with a huge smile on her face and proceeded to chat with us while she was ringing up our purchases and was happy and engaging and positively delightful. She even assisted us with getting our free N95 masks that the government is distributing at various locations right now. And I left there laughing and feeling more upbeat than I was before I entered the store, all because of my interaction with this one person. And it wasn't because of anything profound that she said. It was just her positive attitude and demeanor that I just don't see very often anymore. And it was very much appreciated. So Management, if you see this review, please know that the Kathleen who was working the front counter on the evening of 2/12 is an absolute gem of a person, and you should definitely commend her for the positive experience that I am sure that she extends to all of your customers on a daily basis. And Kathleen, if you ever see this review, you keep doing you, girl. Because you are perfect just the way you are. read more

Oh my goodness, was this the most frustrating pharmacy to work with. I called to check on a prescription and the pharmacist shared that there was a problem with my insurance. I asked, "Do you typically let people know when this sort of thing happens so they don't expect their prescriptions to be filled when they come in?" The response was, "Mam, we have too many patients to worry about that kind of stuff." Had I known, I would've called my insurance earlier that day. But it was now 5pm and my insurance office was closed to have the conversation needed to fix it. I called the insurance again in the morning and they shared the issue would be fixed by 1PM. They then suggested I call the pharmacy to let them know. I called again and the new pharmacist said he would check if the insurance fixed things. It was 10AM. I shared again, "No, they said it'll be fixed by 1PM." He checked regardless and shared that there was still an issue...um, obviously. After calling back at 1, I finally talked to someone marvelous. Kathy. Kathy was ON IT! Kathy, whoever you are, you are the saving grace of this pharmacy. Thank you for being absolutely wonderful! But, sadly, because I missed her call back, I ended up speaking to one of the men I had spoken with earlier today. If every pharmacist was like Kathy, I'd love to give this a 5-star rating. But, having to work with the team as a whole, I decided to make the switch to Walgreens where they've been 100% accommodating and responsive! read more

Poorly informed pharmacist, Lenon or something, quotes DEA regs with complete certainty, when he's in fact completely and utterly wrong and unaware of what DEA regulations are and aren't. When confronted, instead of taking the L questions the scope of practice of a licensed healthcare provider. Do yourself a favor, get your Rx filled somewhere else where small people don't try to flex and act like they're physicians. read more

This might be the fanciest Rite Aid that ever was. Nestled between a Zupans and a Starbucks in Lake Grove exists this very prim and proper pharmacy. Everything was neat, organized, well-stocked, and easy to find. Honestly, you wouldn't know you were in a Rite Aid if you hadn't seen the sign outside the door. But, alas, there we were. I like to come here to buy candy to sneak into movie theatres. It's about 1/4 the cost, I just stock up at home and take what I need. But you'll find all the essentials you need in a pinch, from snacks and basic groceries like milk to school supplies. Staff was friendly and the place was empty. Best location of a Rite Aid I ever did saw. read more

The number of times I have had to make multiple trips to this pharmacy is nuts. I've had multiple instances where they told me something couldn't be filled, only to find out they had put it on auto fill, already filled it, and didn't bother to look. I've had multiple instances where they insist I only have one Rx to pick up, when there were in fact multiple and I had to go back. They close earlier than posted (on a sign, not on google or anything actually helpful) for lunch, even when they see someone trying to pick up a prescription. This is the pharmacy that time forgot. The store looks like you are walking into the 1960s or 70s and that's not necessary a bad thing. It's small, kind of dated but friendly and efficient. The checkout clerk always acknowledges me and asks if I need help finding anything. It's not a huge store so if your looking for endless choice and sizing go elsewhere. If you want a quick in and out that's pared down to the basics it's for you. I find the pharmacy very efficient at filling my perceptions. I've had calls they were filled and ready before i made it to my car leaving the doctors office. The pharmacist on duty helped me resolve and issue when my doctor changed my perception and the insurance company as confused. Overall I like this pharmacy because of the small size and efficient staff. read more

The pharmacist is kind but not effusive so I think people don't always see that he's really a great professional. I have been a customer at this Rite Aid in Lake Grove for years and have generally been happy with the service there. But today I am seriously considering taking my business elsewhere. In this area everyone is required to wear masks at indoor businesses now. Being in a category at high risk for getting COVID-19, I support this and always wear a mask when I leave home. Today as I was leaving after picking up a prescription I saw two women without masks, one wandering around the aisles and the other walking up to the pharmacy counter. No one from the store had offered them a mask or made any effort to stop them. I realize it's possible they were both in the exempt category and didn't have to wear masks, but no one had asked. I tried to bring it up with an employee, the only one visible out in the store, but he just shrugged and said all the store was required to do was post a sign saying people were supposed to wear masks. He showed me the sign. He said he wasn't supposed to enforce it. When I persisted he claimed to call the manager but I waIted and no one came. The women kept shopping. I know employees don't like to confront customers, but this is a PHARMACY. People who are sick, frail, old go in there. Masks protect people from getting sick and this is a time of PANDEMIC. Apparently Rite Aid doesn't care whether its customers live or die and don't care about upholding laws that protect people. They think not confronting law breakers is more important than my safety. Masks are only controversial to stupid, ignorant, selfish people who don't care if they make people get sick and die. They are essential, especially around sick people. Been a customer here for more than fifteen years. We are a family with A LOT of medical issues so they know me well. Every employee has taken the time to learn my name and a little bit about me and always greets me with a smile. It's so small and seems so cheesy, but there have been many a day when I have walked in tired and beaten down from all the ailments my loved ones are fighting and this crew brightens my day. Incompetence does not go well with prescribed drugs. Therefore, I will not risk my health, as poor as it is, for the convenience of this near by pharmacy. They take a long time to fill a prescription, which makes absolutely no sense because: 1) They mess up. I mean, if you are going to give me the wrong label, can't you do it quickly? If you don't care enough to carefully fill your prescriptions, why do you take your time doing it? Just grab the wrong pills and slap the wrong label on the bottle and you're good to go. 2) Who still fills their prescriptions here after they make a couple mistakes? This place should be empty, giving the pharmacists ample time to mess up. Sorry for sounding so bitter, but I expect more from people that stand on elevated platforms. read more

I show up at 2:20 and still not ready and I have to wait 20minutes. What is the point of calling ahead? Waste of my time. I went to pick up my daughters prescription. It was for an ear infection. The pharmacist told me there was something in one of the bottles ( it was liquid) that he didn't feel comfortable giving it to me because there was something in the medicine. He told me he would order a new one and to come back after 12 the next day. I came back and the cashier looked at the bottle and said there is something in here. Then a very young guy walked up and said " yeah I fished out whatever was in there and its ok now". The pharmacist (chuck) ignoring the situation. I told them I didn't feel comfortable taking the medicine with something in it. To please order a new one. The young kid walked away. 5 minutes later chuck the pharmacist yells "what are you waiting for ?" I told him the medicine. He looks at me like I'm annoying him. I told him he needed to let me know next to come back. Chuck was very rude! He seemed very grouchy. Not the kind of service you expect when dealing medication. I take it very serious. Pharmacy is awful, never opens on time and just has people waiting around until they decide to be open

The pharmacy started off great, but the more I went the more mistakes were made. I've been receiving the same prescriptions for a while, but the last few times I went in the prescription was not correct and I had to ask them to fix it. The last time I was in I had two prescriptions to pick up. She started to check me out when I mentioned I had two. She found the second one (which wasn't correct per usual) and I let her know. She checked with the pharmacist and said that it was correct and my insurance must have changed. It didn't. She tried to ring me up for that prescription and it wasn't even mine! She was giving me someone else's prescription. She went to check with the pharmacist about my second prescription and they said they didn't have it. I had ordered both renewals on their website the day before. I let her know, but she just shrugged it off. She didn't offer to look into it or have it filled for me. Really poor customer service. Needless to say, I just transferred my prescriptions to a different pharmacy. read more

Hands down this is the worst pharmacy. I called in my prescriptions and because of an insurance change, they randomly decided not to fill them. I showed up to pick them up...AFTER I received a call that they were ready, and ended up waiting almost an hour to get them. This is the third time in a row that I have come to pick up my prescription and there was an issue. Each time constitutes a considerable wait time. What I don't understand is, if there is a problem with my prescription, CALLME. That is why I leave my phone number each time! I've got to find another location! read more

This review is for the pharmacy only. I took a prescription in planning to get a prior authorization from my doctor for it. The pharmacist was even kind enough and said they would send the paperwork to my doctor as I was standing there. Keep in mind, if you are getting a prior authorization, the pharmacist must have the prescription, therefore there was absolutely no way they could have given it back to me. About a week later I finally got word from my doctor that the pharmacy had NO documentation of my prescription. I even asked them to look in my siblings files to ensure they didn't misplace it. To top it off, despite telling them to do otherwise, they sent a request for a new prescription to my old doctor, who I then had to call and inform. DO NOT GO HERE, they lost my prescription, and had nothing to say about it. No apologies, no suggestions, nothing! I had to make another doctors appointment to get another prescription & here I am 2 weeks after dropping off the prescription that rite aid lost, and still in the process of getting these meds due to their mistake. Better business bureau will be hearing from me! Thankfully I am not facing a life or death situation, but what if someone was? Losing someone's prescription is a very serious matter. read more
