However, their pharmacy side was a bit disorganized and it took me a while and quite a bit of wandering around to find the medication I was looking for. They did get a favorable decision in the bankruptcy court. They said they could take up to three months to restock those empty shelves. I go there a lot to get personal care and household stuff. I get my prescriptions there also. I am wishing them best of luck in restocking those empty shelves. If I can't find something important there, I turn to Amazon or Walmart online. read more

Updated review: after several post-COVID years of reasonably decent stocking of the shelves, and finally cleaning the store properly, "something is going on" at the Mt. Shasta store. Shelves are completely bare of essential items and not just things that can go in a flurry due to flu or COVID outbreaks. Things like eye drops. I went to get some basic solution today and the entire shelving system is empty save for about ten various specialty items, all different. Meanwhile, an employee was stocking the travel samples right next to me. Mt. Shasta is a tourist destination. Our stores reflect our community. This store has been a blight since it opened, yet I was told by corporate it remains one of the most lucrative in the region. It makes money and RiteAid has to do little to no work. It's unacceptable. There must be a minimum of effort for any franchise to remain open. Research is being done into this issue. How long can a store remain negligent and harm a community before something is done? Update on prior reviews: I did switch my prescriptions and am thrilled with Mt. Shasta Pharmacy. Also, RiteAid corporate made the store accept my return. The checker couldn't even believe it. Told me "it won't work." I had to insist she try my return on the register before she would believe me. read more

I asked the pharmacist for help in identifying genetic brands for meds I was prescribed. They kept sending me to other areas, only to then send me to look for the item myself. I could have gone to the meds section myself and looked for the generic brand myself. After all that run around, they didn't have the generic brand I needed, and have to go to CVS. At CVS, the lady at the counter helped me right away and got the generic brand I needed. That was it! Next time , I'm going straight to CVS first ! read more

They are the pharmacy the hospital always uses for prescriptions. My 80 year old husband was seen for COVID & my daughter went to pick up the RX. "We don't have a prescription. Call the hospital." I transferred a RX from Rite Aid Shasta Lake to Mount Shasta. I verified by phone it was stock. I was I informed it would be 20 minutes. I Went in there to pick up RX. The gate was down and they were closed. I figured it was lunch. I came back hour later and the gate was still closed. I asked the Gentleman if color with accent why? He explained there was a issue and the gas to disinfect. Would say what that issue was. I waited for them to open. When I went to pick up the same guy with accent told me there was no stock. I explained to him I called that morning and was told differently. I asked him to transfer back to Shasta Lake. He said he would but not right away. I explained to him I was leaving to that store now and asked him nicely to do now. He just walked away and ignored me. Here's the kicker. Half way down on my drive I get a text saying my RX was ready in Mount Shasta. WTH read more

The pharmacist at Rite Aid was more knowledgeable and informative than any doctor I've seen regarding Strep Throat. He actually took the time to answer all of my questions and I did not feel rushed like I am at a doctors office. read more

We own a house in Lake Shastina but my husband still works in the Bay Area. We have spending time up here for years. I have been fighting stage 4 metastatic breast cancer for 4 yrs. I asked my doctor to order my pain pills at rite aid in Shasta since I am moving up here permanently to go on hospice. On Monday I tried to call 7 times to see if my order was ready. Nobody answered the phone. It kept putting me in a loop that got me nowhere. After 7 calls being stuck in a loop for 10 minutes all day, it got to be 8pm do I touched the option for a doctors office. The pharmacist yelled at me because I'm not a doctor. I told her how long I'd been trying to get through and didn't know how I was to get anyone to answer. She lost her temper big time and said she was the only one here and she was answering all the phone calls. I started crying and she backed off. She Told me it wouldn't go thru because my copay was too high. I told her I didnt have insurance for drugs that I pay cash. At home in the pay area I paid $50 with my good rx card at Safeway. Rite aid wanted $108.00 for the same thing. I asked her to hold the rx for a day. I wanted to call my husband to ask him if he could get them filled at my regular Safeway and bring them since he was coming anyway. He said for me to just pay the exorbanant fee and be done with it. I called rite aid back the next day to let them know I would be picking it up after all. The man, I didn't get his name, but he said he was the assistant pharmacy manager. He told me I couldn't have the rx because it was a controlled substance written in San Jose. Funny how the pharmacist from the prior day didn't see the need to do that. I explained that we are moving here and own a house here. I have him my address in Weed. It was clear that he was treating me as a drug seeker simply trying to load up on narcotics. I tried to explain that I am very very sick at the end of my life. Besides the cancer in my neck, back, & underarm, I also have neuropathy in my hands and feet, a compression fracture in my neck and 5 bulging disks in my neck. I have pinched nurses from the surgery that are also very painful. I also have a nephrostomy tube coming out of my kidney and draining into a bag attached to my leg. He started yelling at me, wouldn't let me explain a word. I was crying my eyes out because I'm so sick and he was being so mean and to me. Thanks for the compassion for an old lady at the end of her life who is so sick. I hope someone does the same to you or a family member one day. Rite aid might want to reconsider the mean, hateful service they are giving to old, sick people with cancer. It was shameful and I was so upset that I cried for 2 days. Go up to Raleys pharmacy if you live in Weed or Shastina. Nice, nice people. Friendly and helpful. Much better prices. I will be sure to post this to my social media pages where I have 3,900 people following me. I won't step into another rite aid ever again for anything. I'm so blessed that hospice now brings my meds to my house for me and I don't have to pay for it and deal with the rude, incompetent people at rite aid. Rite-Aid steals your personal data. Don't let them scan your ID. During a purchase I specifically asked the person at the checkout counter not to scan my ID, but handed my ID to the teller to look at and confirm my age. The teller scanned my ID without my permission. I asked for my data to be removed from the system, but was told that I needed to call 1800RITEAID. I called, and they directed me back to the manager of the store. I asked for written and signed proof that my data was not stored in the system. She said she would have to direct the inquiry to corporate management. Since then, I have not heard anything from corporate management, or received any confirmation about my data being deleted. This retrieval of personal information is especially disturbing since a scan of one's ID can reveal sensitive information including address, fingerprints, voter registration, driving record, blood type, not to mention name, and license number. Considering all of the breaches in computer data, this can be very dangerous in leading to identity theft, and unwanted profiling. I am currently seeking legal advice on how to expunge my data from Rite-Aid's system. Do not allow any Rite-Aid to scan your ID, because there is no mechanism in place for one to check how the data is used, and who is receiving it. Your data is likely being sold so that you can receive profiled advertisements, and who knows who else is granted access to your most personal information. I would like to know how my data is used, but so far have been refused the information. read more

All I have to say is "Good Luck". I've had to have multiple scripts filled for my son and trying to call to confirm urgent medications are ready before driving into town has resulted in automated system round abouts and you'll never speak to an actual person. I still wait a bit before packing up the littles to go and check, then wait in long lines just to be told they either haven't received it or it isn't ready and won't be for at least an hour or so.... every time. I got myself two bags of stuff FREE last week. All you have to do is check their flier, go shopping, sign up online, submit your receipt (on time) online and request your check at the end of the month (on time). There probably isn't much to be said about a chain drug store, but I do have a few comments here. The staff ignored me while checking out. I'm not asking for a date or to swap phone numbers but a simple "Hello" and "Thank You" would be nice. "Got a Rite Aid card?", swipe the credit card and hand over the receipt. I guess that the locals can tell we "ain't from these parts of the woods." The store itself needs to be updated. The interior and shelving is somewhat dated but can't fault the place itself since this is a neighborhood store. So we came in, bought and left. We've been Rite Aide customers for over 20 years and with this new change of staff we have found that our prescriptions are delayed anywhere from 4 to 9 days every month for the last 10 months. This pharmacy is understaffed and unqualified. I recommend you do not visit this Rite Aid pharmacy in Mount Shasta California. My husband had eye surgery this morning. I went to pick up prescription ointment that had been called in two weeks ago. It hadn't been filled. I was told it would be ready in an hour. If I could give this place minus 5 stars I would. This pharmacy is a complete joke. Massive incompetency, medications billed self pay when I have Partnership insurance, which necessitates rebilling waiting time of 40 minutes to an hour even with very few customers! This happens again and again, and was the reason I switched to CVS, but the hospital, after an orthopedic surgery unfortunately called in medication here. The people behind the pharmacy are uncaring, and not willing to ever reach out to insurance for clarifications. They say that is a "curtesy" they don't extend! My advice is to go ANYWHERE but here for prescriptions! In addition, Rite Aid used to offer a nice discount for frequent customers who spent a certain amount. It was a nice perk in an area with very few stores. Corporate Rite Aid took that discount away, just at the same time they drove up prices hugely. Shelves often empty as well. Gosh, this used to be a nice, neighborhood place to shop. What a complete shame. The fixed up the outside of the store, but employees are really the problem. read more

THREE DIFFERENT TIMES my prescriptions haven't been filled due to lack insurance information on file. If you couldn't find something, why wouldn't you call the patient and ask? Recently I was in Mt. Shasta on a quick business and extended pleasure trip and I needed a few items that I forgot to pack in my trusty carry on. I normally wouldn't rate a local grocery or drug store but Ride Aide Mt. Shasta and it's staff left an impression that I just had to come to yelp and sing my praises. If you have ever frequented a Rite Aide store in Southern California you will know that most of them smell like a dirty truck stop bathroom, the service is poor, and it's just not the type of establishment you care to have to go to very often. However, Manager Brett Bring's store here in Mt. Shasta is top notch. The whole place is impeccably clean and put together and really gives that down home feel of a family drug store. As soon as I walked through the doors I was greeted from all angles and had no problem being pointed in the direction of the things I needed for the rest of my trip. I really got a sense of feeling like I had lived there for years and was a part of the Mt. Shasta family. Brett and his staff were courteous and very helpful with giving me information on things to do and see in the area for a first timer. That being said, I had to come straight to Yelp and give them 5 stars and two thumbs up for running a great business and giving you award winning service. The new store layout is awesome and I've noticed such a big change in both the pharmacy and store side. Selection on products are much better now and the best part, they have an ice cream shop! I had to come back to update my review because I've seen great progress in the store and felt they needed some appreciation from their patrons on the changes the store's made so far. Good work team! I was purchasing fresh flower and a bottle of wine for my friend who was coming to visit from San Francisco. There were four buckets of fresh flowers. Two buckets were labeled $12.99 and two were labeled $5.99. I got a bouquet from one of the two buckets labeled $5.99. This was a mixed bouquet of daisy's and carnations (which one would expect to pay $5.99.) However, when I attempted to purchase the flowers they rang up for $12.99, and the clerk agreed that when I put my card number in the amount would change. It did not. I showed the listed price on the buckets to the clerk. He said no, that is only for the few small bouquets in the bucket (apparently most of the bouquets in the $5.99 bucket were actually $12.99.) When I suggested that they separate the many "$12.99 bouquets" from the $5.99 bucket he seemed to be unable to understand the concept. I would have to label this deceptive and dense. read more
