This store is notorious for charging more than their advertised or listed prices. A customer needs to be vigilant when paying at the register. If you pay before you catch the discrepancy, you're going to be stuck for another 20 minutes waiting for it to be corrected. Fair warning: these losers screwed up the last prescription they will ever get from me. After going through a surgical procedure, I was prescribed to take a 3-week antibiotic regimen by my surgeon. These incompetent pharmacists shorted my prescription to two weeks. I hadn't really noticed until I got a UTI as a result of not taking the prescribed duration of antibiotics, which my doctor had to prescribe an additional two courses of antibiotics to deal with the aftermath. After confronting the pharmacist about it, I received denial and obfuscation until I threatened to contact the CA Board of Pharmacy to get to the bottom of the issue. I only then got a confession that they had indeed shorted my prescription (apparently they video the counting of every prescription filled). The apology was accepted in that I decided not to sue them for the resulting problem, but I will never again be using this joke of a pharmacy, and I feel strongly that the public should be warned: you might have "complications" from using this pharmacy. I dare Rite Aid to bring a slander lawsuit. That's all it would take for me to not let bygones be bygones and countersue for what they put me through. Three weeks of high fever and misery. OMG I moved to a small town because I mistakenly thought people would be a bit more friendly .my bad. I am hella!!!!! Sick right this moment I have online appt with my Kaiser doctor a bit later so I wanted to make sure I knew where to fill prescription. I asked pharmacist if they filled Kaiser there .He said just 1 and Iam like 1 then in a deadpan voice said ya 1. So I asked where I could get it filled ...he just looked at me like I was stupid and say have them mail it.....well thank a f&^%$king lot for telling me how Kaiser works best. I do have my repeat prescriptions mailed HOW was that helpful for today??? Just keep sitting there being unhelpful iam sure the line will be out the door. I don't know where it is I will get it filled but it won't be here. They told me my meds would be ready in 30 minutes. I decided to go 2 hours later as I was leaving town for a night class so I would not leave my house twice. I left 15 minutes sooner than I would leave to school so I had time to run in and get them since they clearly told me they would be ready in 30 minutes. When I went in, they were not filled and the pharmacists had just gone on lunch so I had to leave for school and could not get my medicine that I needed until the next day. Man I love all the girls in this store they are sweet and friendly this is for the pharmacy and I've never had an issue with them until tonight they've always been super accommodating about filling prescriptions helpful finding over the counter drugs etc but today this rude little new girl in the pharmacy was extremely rude and uneducated so I had to leave a review.... This is how it went I asked if I had a prescription refill left because I have been in some discomfort lately she asked me for my birthdate and my name then pulled up the prescription then she told me they were closing in 45 minutes and that they're too busy and she wouldn't have time to fill it so Then I asked if she knew where the Abreva is she said no I don't I'm sorry and no I can't refill it today ya were really busy So I asked if I can speak to the pharmacist and he kindly said that it would be no problem filling my prescription today and he also directed me to get my daughters cold sore medicine. Hopefully that an educated pharmacist technician won't be working there very much longer. read more

It's a Rite Aid in my small town and it's clean and has well stocked shelves with fairly pleasant folks. I'd give them 5 stars just for building one out here but they lose one because as nice as the people are they never seem to know what's going on. The store is great, unless you don't know where to find something and you need to ask for help. I've asked for help finding something and been lead on a wild goose chase around the store. But the latest one as that they were selling a lawn furniture set. nice cheap little set with two chairs, a love seat and a table. You could buy everything separately but if you bought it all together you could save some cash. But they did not have the love seat on display. So I asked if they had any in stock. "Yes sir, we have lots of them in the back." Great! I'll take the set then. 20 minutes later, I'm sorry we can't seem to find one. Ok, can you order one. 10 min later, "Um, I don't think so". So does another store have one? "Hmmm, not sure let me check". 15 min later. "I can't seem to reach anyone who knows. Can I get your number and I'll call you?". Sure that's fine with me. That was three months ago. They never called, they never wrote. I was heart broken. I thought I could never love discount lawn furniture sets again. But then I met Patterson Walmart. She was everything that Rite Aid wasn't. She had almost the same exact set with a much bigger table! Nicer chairs and it a great love seat if you know what I mean. All for about $50 less. Sorry RA but I have a new love in my life and she gives me what you couldn't. Ok, so maybe I slip up every once and while and go back to RA. It's a nice clean store. Nice shady trees in the parking lot to park your car under on hot days. It's great if you live in town and if you need something in a hurry and don't want to drive 30 min away. But... They never seem to have what I need. There shelves are never stocked full. Example when they have a sale on vitamins. Buy one get one 50% off. They never seem to have 2 to be able to get the 50% off on an item. They will give you a discount on the one item. But when you want the second item and they don't have it!! It's kind of annoying. I've been there three times and I've walked out disappointed. The third strike for them was yesterday I had wanted an back pain replacement pads. There were none on the shelf. I asked the nice lady working there and was told all they had was what was on the shelf. (Which was nothing but an empty slot for it.). I was told they wouldn't have it till the next Friday. I left to drive the 20min to Walgreens. (Which they had 3 on the shelve). I bought 2 of them. Like I said in the beginning of the review. I have decided to not shop here any more. I'm not going to waste my time only to find out they either don't carry it or they don't have it in stock. read more

Your typical rite aid, but the only one within the vicinity for miles. The employees are wonderful and kind. Great thrifty ice cream. Parking lot can get a little crazy but all in all its great to have a Rite Aid in Newman. read more

Everyone, especially the Pharmacy and the management are very helpful and wonderful since my accident and head injury!

The store is great and so is the staff.,the pharmacy is another story. The pharmacist man with the thick accent always makes me feel bad for needing the medicine I require due to my disability. I've had a severe back injury and when I refill my pain medicine he is very judgemental, shaking his head with discust. He said " you haven't been here since December what you didn't need them then?" I get injections in my spine which last about six months and those are only authorized 1 time a yr workers Comp, then I take meds until the next injection is authorized so that I don't need to take medicine yr round, and still this man has managed to make me feel as tho I am a terrible disabled person. He said it's too much work for them if I don't come in sooner but also says every prescription has to be authorized every time so it's always the same work. After I get my medicine this time I will drive 1 hr to go somewhere else. I will never allow this man to make me feel bad for my condition. He's done this every Time for 2 yrs now. I done waiting for him to change his customer service skills. read more
