I like that they have many, many niche items -- stuff not many people probably want, but I appreciate. For example, the red velvet cake pettifors I got for my birthday - SO good, and they keep longer than regular cake, so I can enjoy them slowly. And really, the customer service can't be beat - the staff is always friendly and helpful. I accidentally left one of my bags recently, and by the time I got home and realized it, I figured it was a lost cause. Called over to the store, and the service desk had it for me! For the year, just like before, I would receive notifications on when my meds were ready. And as usual, I would head over here via drive-thru to pick them up. Sometimes, the line would be 3 cars deep. But that's no big deal to me. Just picking up prescriptions was the priority. Staff always seemed busy either talking to customers at the counter or addressing them at pickup. The usual norm. I was there last night to pick up two prescriptions and I was told that one of them was out of stock. When another pharmacist spoke up and said, let me check that because I don't think that's possible. This pharmacist was correct. I was in serious pain and they were getting ready to send me to another pharmacy somewhere in Newport News to get the medication that they actually did have in stock. As I sat there and waited for it to be filled, which took 30 minutes and I was told it would be less than 15 all I could notice was how filthy the chairs the table the floor everything was. The first woman I spoke with was very rude, and dismissive of my concerns. I don't live in Newport News. I'm only here a few days a week and with a Fourth of July weekend coming up the pharmacy I would've had to go to in my town would have been closed. So the pharmacist who spoke up actually saved me a lot of problems. I do appreciate that, but this store is ridiculous. I'm a CVS plus member and we can get deliveries and every time I order something online, I end up getting half of what I ordered because it says it's in stock online, but when I actually get my order half of the items were out of stock. I use coupons and points to purchase a lot of things so when my order is not complete, I lose the value of those coupons and points. It's maddening.

Suddenly after years I am told they cannot fill this prescription without a new prescription from my physician. The physician sent out a new prescription, but the pharmacy still refused to fill it stating it is a controlled substance which is the first I have ever heard this about this drug. The pharmacy stated my insurance no longer covered it so I said I would pay out of pocket. They still refused to fill it because the insurance company needed to speak with my physician. I accepted this as protocol although I had never been informed before regarding this medication, but my annoyance is with the pharmacy worker who was positively smug with me and acted as though I was a drug addict seeking to obtain a controlled substance, which I previously stated in this review and to the pharmacist that I had never been told that before. This is not the first time I have been treated like this at this pharmacy. I feel insulted at their insinuations about me. For this very reason, I will be changing pharmacies and I will no longer encourage anyone to use it. As stated before, this was a go-to for shopping pre-pandemic. Let's see how things went as a whole. Like before, all of the stops were because of lack of items. Basically, I would come on the way home from work and get things here and there, whether it's grocery items in-stock or greeting cards for family members out of state. The checkout process was mostly self-checkout where lines weren't that long. But just like the previous reviews mentioned, the amount of open aisles compared to self-checkout is like apples to oranges. Wait times aren't too long but it can get a little inconvenient if you have more than 5 items to scan. Also, some card readers can't scan cards if you use the chip function. Technology....gotta love it. Other than mishaps, this Walmart has come through at times for yours truly. We all know things aren't perfect. They will continue to remain an option :)

It was that time again for yours truly to obtain a Covid booster shot. Luckily, we were given the green light. Sophia obtained hers weeks prior at another CVS location. I chose this one for the 2nd year in a row. Let's see how things went. Just like previous appointments, I scheduled this one via CVS's website. Simple and easy. I checked in 15 minutes before walking inside to the counter. There was one person ahead of me who obtained his shot during my entrance. I got mine earlier than expected with no problems. In the past, they would tell you to either stay for 15 minutes or walk around the store just in case you had any adverse reactions. They said I could go right home which we did for other plans. Another great visit here to make sure my health remains in good standing. CVS will remain my go-to for booster shots in the near future. Till next time :)
