Staff is friendly and helpful, though as I'll describe in a moment, I manage to avoid them anyway. This location is the smaller of the two in the Cranberry area, with a scaled back selection to match. Produce is notably more limited, and some more unusual items are missing from the shelves (and one popular item -quite often fresh thyme herbs have gone AWOL). But, this location is also usually less crowded. Balancing that is the parking lot which could have a more convenient layout. The deli here often has a longer wait than other GE/MD locations. I'm about equal distance from this location and the Cranberry one, so why come here? One reason - the Scan, Pay & Go system. This is their mobile self-checkout system where you can use your smartphone or one of their hand scanners to scan your items as you shop. You scan a bar code on the way out the door, wave a phone for payment, and you're done. I don't even need to bring a wallet. And if you don't feel like talking to anyone, you don't have to. And even if you walk out with a heaping cartful of items, you won't feel the anxiety of blocking the self-checkout lane with all your stuff. The location is clean. In-store prepped foods and premades are on point. Breads and daily items are stocked up in the morning and top items like milk and yogurts are restocked throughout the day. I've had to ask for something (not thyme) maybe once in a couple of years. Good local grocery. Split our dollars between this location, Costco, and Fresh Thyme in Cranberry and the Whole Foods in Wexford. Due to the Scan Pay & Go system, I find this one to be the most pleasant shopping experience.

It usually takes me 3-4 visits before I'm willing to wait behind either the long line of cars outside or the long line of people waiting in line inside. When RiteAid closed it took twice as long to phone in a prescription because of the long-winded recording soliciting RiteAid customers to move to Giant Eagle. They did this knowing that their facility was not setup to handle the increased traffic. But added profits were far more important than customer satisfaction. I'm going to move my prescriptions elsewhere as are many other people I know.

When I complained staff, I assume a pharmacist, told me she had to come in on her day off. Well that comes with the territory, you know. This pharmacy does not do well by scheduled vaccinations and treats you just like they would a walk in plus they just don't display very good customer service skills in general. Today, one of mine wasn't ready and all I did was ask her if she could tell me when it would be ready and she replied with a disgusted look on her face "you know there are about 100 others in front of you, so I don't know". The techs and pharmacists always ask if I have questions about my prescription which shows that they care and want us to be educated on the medications themselves. If I am purchasing a medication that is not over the counter and am not sure what is the best one based on symptoms, the pharmacist has come out from behind the counter and has directed me to what will be most beneficial. If needed, I will grab some cosmetic things while in the store - deodorant, toothpaste, eyeliner, greeting cards, etc. The prices are typical retail store prices. Sometimes they have a decent discount section that includes after holiday/season items and those items go fast! Overall this is a solid retail/pharmacy store in the area. Helpful employees, typical cosmetic/retail items, and decent hours.

Okay- fine- I'll do that- but then I had to wait another 15 minutes for them to change something in their computer to fill the partial script that they were about to hand me if I was coming back tomorrow. They weren't polite in any regard, and now, not only do I have to deal with the hassle of calling the other pharmacy to have it transferred, but I have to make another trip out AND pay my co-pay again, since it will be a new place. NEVER AGAIN!
