I originally came here for a Yelp Event and decided to do a 10 day unlimited trial. I am so happy that I did because now I am an active member at Ritual! The whole studio has a nice zen vibe to it. Every single teacher is always so welcoming. There are bathrooms and showers in studio. The studio provides towels to put on top of yoga mats that are already available inside the studio room - this is a big plus for me because I don't have to carry my own yoga mat to bring to class. There are yoga blocks, face towels, and bands available. There's a small section for hair ties, deodorant, and basically basic needs to freshen up. Each class has a different vibe and it depends what you are looking for and each teacher has their own musical vibe they have for classes. Yin: slow movement and stretching is the main focus Hot Yoga: faster flow where it is a true cardio type workout Red Light: use of a red light yoga mat with softer/slower movement They recently added more classes that I am excited to seek out and try. Most memberships come with a 1:1 session that you can do before or after your session to help focus on your form/flow or for you to take advantage of the red light mats outside of the red light class. All the classes do a great job teaching you the yoga practice/philosophy that is being studied that week. I love that I get to escape the world and really work on my yogi mindset for 50 minutes each week. My favorite part is how the room is dark and you flow to candlelight. If you are considering coming here or unsure if this is for you, it's worth trying the unlimited and testing out different classes! read more

Had the best and the most fun yoga experience at Ritual Hot Yoga. I had gone in for the Ritual Yin - where you hold each posture for a longer time. The space is heated and you sweat a lot throughout the session. One of the instructors provides a massage at the start and end of the session. And wet towels with eucalyptus oil are provided at the end of the session. It was super relaxing. Highly recommend. read more

This was an awesome experience lead by empowered women! I was shocked to feel that it was immediately hot upon entering the building but it was so much fun to be challenged in a way I had not practiced before. I was definitely intrigued by the red light therapy but I really appreciate the mental clarity that came after. Don't wear a touch of makeup btw! Not even mascara lol. The lockers are great and showers are available. I would highly recommend bringing a change of clothes. read more

This space and community goes above and beyond. It's so comfortable and welcoming here, and I feel so much lighter when I leave. The instructors are very thoughtful and relatable, making sure that you're seen. They're incredibly knowledgeable on how to push yourself just a bit harder during stretches without hurting you, and a big shout out to Hannah for consistently being a grounding presence whether you meet her at the front or she's instructing. As an experienced yoga practitioner who loves heated yoga classes, I enjoyed this studio while traveling. The teachers had good energy, love the candlelight, ambience, and that they include all the things. I ended up bringing my own mat b/c their mats didn't have grip and I'd slip n slide (even w/out sweat). Also I warmed up and stretched ahead of time cause they go right into it. They move fast so it seems speed over form which is alright for experienced yogis but if newer to yoga, might be tougher. I'll go back next time in town though! read more

I've been with Ritual Hot Yoga for 3 years now, and it's hands down my favorite yoga studio in all of Chicago. The classes are consistently challenging in the best way, and I love the variety of music that keeps each practice fresh and unique. What truly sets Ritual apart is the people: from the teachers to the front desk staff to the owners, everyone is warm, welcoming, and absolutely fantastic. The community they've built is something special. I also love the extra touches, like member events and socials. Their Red Light Yin class is one of my absolute favorite ways to decompress, and "Work It Wednesday" with Ryley has become the highlight of my week! The current yoga bingo challenge is such a fun and creative way to be supportive of their bustling yoga community. As a functional medicine provider, I often refer clients here who are interested in starting or deepening their yoga practice, and the feedback I get from them is always postive. Ummm hellooo? I book a class here on class pass, miss it and you charge me $17 for missed class, are you okay?? I paid for class with my points - you got money for that class and then you proceed to charge me extra? I've used classpass for years! Went to dozens different yoga studios and almost hundred classes. I have missed a total of 8 classes throughout the years in 7 different studios - NEVER BEEN charged for missing the class. What a greedy little studio. Enjoy the money. I guess you REALLY need it. I will advertise against you for such practice on every platform! I'm sure as a customer can take loss TWICE for service you haven't provided Terrible. read more

I've never been a yoga person . I've took clases in a lot of places and I always leave feeling a little disappointed and wishing I've done a different workout instead . This experience was totally different , the class was challenging and lively , I loved the way the instructor was guiding and how she explained the movements before and during the class . read more

Don't be fooled by the five star reviews -- pay closer attention to the one star reviews emphasizing the absolute GREED of this organization. Trust me, I too was dazzled by the beautiful amenities, challenging classes, and feeling of community -- so much so that I signed up for an unlimited membership and maintained that membership for nearly a year. It's as soon as they hook you into a membership, though, that the facade begins to crack. Don't bother reading the fine print regarding commitments, freeze policies, or cancellation policies: they're going to surreptitiously change during your time with Ritual, and you most certainly will NOT be informed. Even if you do manage to keep up with the rotating door of requirements -- I personally don't take being charged $188/month lightly, and try to stay thoroughly informed about my exit options -- Ritual will most certainly find ANY excuse to continue charging you against your wishes. Did you cancel in-person? Chances are, it wasn't documented. Cancelled over the phone? Same thing. Tried to cancel on the app? Not an option. And same goes for freezes. I went through the whole gambit -- first needing to freeze my account due to seasonal work outside of the city, then needing to cancel due to life circumstances -- and the community that boasted being there to support me...wasn't. It was lost in a cash-grab pattern of disorganization where every attempt I made to communicate my needs fell on conveniently deaf ears. Even with ample notice, Ritual played a waiting game...one in which they ignored my requests until enough time passed that the policies were no longer on my side. It was clearly never about supporting members' ability to be in the room: only about making it impossible for us to leave, even when all efforts are made. DON'T GO TO RITUAL, unless you're prepared to be extorted for hundreds of dollars MONTHS after you're ready to leave. And you will be ready to leave. read more

After a year and a half of practicing here, I can honestly say I've never felt or looked better--and it's all thanks to the incredible, wise, and loving teachers who make every class something special. Their style is unmatched, it is the perfect level of intensity for the best type of challenge, they have the most kind & welcoming teachers (especially at wicker park) that always make you feel like family, the studio is so nice, I love the themed days, and most days you see a pup there. This is such a pretty studio from the time you walk in and check in to the class space itself. The vibes are luxe and the staff is friendly. The heat is warm enough to feel it and get your blood pumping but not too hot to be overwhelming. Hands on coaching is a nice perk. read more

This was the workout class I didn't even know I needed! Make sure to take advantage of the unlimited 10 day pass. It took me about two classes to get the hang of the class routine but that is because I am extremely new to Yoga in general. Just when I thought I couldn't possibly love Ritual Hot Yoga more, they added a new studio in Wicker Park! The new space is so beautiful and open and all the staff is absolutely amazing. I have a neurological disorder that makes balancing really challenging for me and I often feel embarrassed in workout classes since I'm a bit wobbly. I love that the instructors at Ritual provide modifications to all the poses and I never feel judged by them or my neighbors. Also a huge fan of the hands-on assists, mini massages, eucalyptus towels and that they provide yoga mats and towels. Shelby is my favorite instructor - her energy is infectious and I don't think I could live without Sexy Mondays at this point. Love you guys!! read more

I'm a relatively new member at Ritual in Wicker. I will be attending my 45th class this Wednesday. It's become a big part of my daily routine. The instructors..Ryley, Damise, Amanda, Shelby and Christian are simply wonderful people. Then you have Goda and Hannah who are just awesome as well. Everyone is so welcoming. It doesn't matter if you just walk in with no experience like myself or have been doing yoga for years, your experience at Ritual will be a positive one and you better be ready to sweat!
