Everyone I've interacted with has been so nice and easy to work with. They've really put the effort into curating the space and the environment. I am so happy that I found this place! I was having some issues with my ClassPass, but when I finally was able to get to their studio, I was welcomed warmly and shown around. All the staff was really kind and the space is really peaceful. Though I'm a newcomer, I never fell out of place and the instructors were very kind. The space is beautiful. Everything you would want in a yoga studio. Kind eyes, open heart centers, chill vibes and clean space. I am not a member, I was here for a yoga/tarot event and I know Daryn from Lululemon Lincoln Park and her work there. The tarot-energy-spiritualist, Mariah, I also know from LPX. The event in and of itself was amazing. Would for sure book something like that again. As for a regular yoga practice, I'm not sure. I'm not that great a yoga and I'm not pretty or rich enough to spend any amount of time in the neighborhood. read more

Came across this place through a Google search when looking up non-hot yoga places. So glad I decided to try it out! Absolutely love this place and hope to become a regular. The room is warm but not too hot, and the teachers are clear and come up with great flows. Not too difficult of a practice and a great way to start my days. Also appreciate that you don't have to bring your own mat or equipment - everything is set up for you! My one wish would be that they offer more sound classes in the evenings vs in the morning. read more

I came here using classpass while visiting for the weekend. The location is central and happened to be really close to my hotel. I took a Saturday morning 75 minute class with Daryn and it was fantastic. the studio itself is beautiful inside. As someone traveling, I appreciated that they did not charge extra for a mat rental. They actually provide everything you need and it is all set up nicely -- each mat spot is numbered. This is not done in studios in my city (Toronto), and I like it because it maximizes space (when people just set up their mats, they sometimes are randomly spaced and not in organized rows... ok my OCD is showing, I digress...). I was a bit nervous about the studio being heated, as I typically do not enjoy hot yoga. Don't worry if you're like me, this is more like "warm yoga". It is not too crazy and the heat you will feel is mostly from your own practice not the room. Daryn was a confident instructor with a calming presence. She guided us through a mix of more vigorous and then more resorative poses at the end, with modifications offered throughout. The sequence repeated a couple times with variations, so you could get the hang of it as the class progressed. There is a cute boutique area and small lockers provided. There is a unisex single changing room and a bathroom too. And there's Joe & the Juice across the street, perfect for your post-yoga fix! I found this studio very welcoming and perfect for someone visiting from out of town. If I lived here, I'd definitely come back. read more

My friend and I decided to try one of their new student specials - buy one get one free for $26. They also have a 30 day unlimited option for $75, which I totally regret not purchasing. We did the alive 75 class (heated) and the rooted (unheated) class. Both classes were great but we ended up liking the alive class a bit more since it was a little more challenging. It's really convenient that you're able to reserve your mat online especially if you're coming straight from work. It's a smaller studio but has great vibes. This is my absolute favorite yoga studio in Chicago. It has a very posh, clean, and relaxed vibe and they hand out cold scented towels at the end (undoubtedly the best way to end after savasana pose!) The teachers all have their own unique style and they're all super super nice, supportive, and positive. It's a space that feels welcoming and convenient: lululemon mats so no need to bring your own mats or your own towel. All included. I love that. read more

Love love love love this studio and the practice. And I have been to a lot in Chicago. This is a small more private like studio where you really feel like the instructors care for you and know your name. I also really appreciate the schedule they have put together, it works so well with my work schedule and that has always been a pain point for me. The warm ups are also incredibly beneficial for me, other studios just jump right into it and I have noticed I've left with back pain, but not here. I typically have commitment issues with yoga studios, but this is one I am looking forward to having a long lasting relationship with! read more

From exploring the website, I gathered that the organization was independent and intentional, a nice break from the corporate studios in Chicago. Before class, Catherine connected with students to understand what muscles or areas her audience was interested in working on during class. Towels, mats, and blocks are provided for free and mat positions are selected before class even begins. Brilliant idea that allows instructor to control mat spacing and students to select positioning without any communication. The space itself is quaint and beautifully decorated. Some of the studio walls are built with exposed brick, the are chandeliers hanging from the ceiling with dimly lit bulbs, and candle filled lanterns are scattered around the floor. While aesthetically pleasing, the dark room encouraged me to focus on my movement and individual practice rather than the external environment. As the studio grows, I have a couple suggestions to improve student experiences. I encourage the website to maintain instructor bios to allow students to understand teacher's styles before selecting a class. I found the spacing in between mats insufficient and at times worried the woman in front of me may accidentally kick my head during inversion play. The lockers are quite small to fit work bags and there was only one bathroom and one changing room. Overall the space was beautiful and warming and class was a memorable and eccentric experience :) I appreciate the small scale of the studio and realize some of my suggestions are dependent on space and resources. I've been a member at the space between for over a month now. It's my new favorite place to practice yoga in Chicago. The room is cozy and classes are significantly smaller than other studios in the area. This is the first yoga studio I've ever been to that allows you to reserve the mat location you want and I LOVE IT. Another cool feature I'm excited to try is a workshop on the calendar as a regular weekly class. The front desk is super helpful especially when I forget what mat number I reserved... I've tried both restorative and the vinyasa flows and have enjoyed them both. Interesting and challenging sequencing with great music. Great little space located in River North. I used a class pass and joined a Alive course with Jon. Space is located downstairs and it's very clean, with a calming and beautiful decor. Might be one of the prettiest studio spaces I've practiced in! Staff was attentive, yogis mostly women, but some couples and males. A good mix, but not too full of a class for a Sunday morning. Our instructor, Jon, kept a steady pace, and utilized a good variety of positions that really helped stretch my back. Playlist was chill. If you love yoga, def check out this place! read more

The studio offers more than a yoga class...they offer a yoga experience. First, this is a beautiful, clean, peaceful studio. The teachers are amazing...with individual styles and a willingness to connect with the students. Mats and towels are provided (no extra charge). The class schedule supports different lifestyles. If you want more than a basic yoga class...this is the place. The yoga experience of movement, meditation, music, and breathwork is unlike any other studio in Chicago. The studio offers workshops and events, including Full Moon experience, Winter Solstice, and so much more. If your life is a bit hectic and that meditation app is not helping...please consider "Undone" a class filled with restorative postures. Need a real workout...consider "Alive" with strong poses that will challenge your body. There are choices for the novice and experienced yogi. I came here for a yoga class and really liked the vibe. They also have some great systems in place that make a ton of sense: The mats, blocks, and towels (which are free to use!) are set up ahead of time, so each person gets a specific numbered spot when they arrive. (Kind of like a spin class--I did feel like the spots were a little too close together, though). They also play the music loudly during classes, which I felt like got me more involved, and the space is absolutely gorgeous. I'm looking forward to coming back! read more

What a spot! Done yoga all around the world and this place stands out by far. Starting with the website, the design is simple, chic and straight to the point- a feel-good yoga practice. The staff including the instructors are amaZing and the studio is very unique, gentle and welcoming to any new or old yogi. The staff are all so nice and friendly and really make coming there special. The instructors all have a different style, so the class is not always the same routine. The Space Between is one of my all-time favorite yoga studios. The entire experience is incredible. From the moment you walk in, the calming scent of Palo Santo fills you and you immediately feel relaxed and nourished. You are greeted by the warm energy of TSB team members who welcome you in. There is ample space to get settled, and the studio is as clean as can be. As you step into the yoga space, a sanctuary awaits with a pre-selected spot where you can set up for class. The space is absolutely gorgeous. There are chandeliers dimly lighting the room just the right amount. It is open, spacious, and loft-like, with exposed brick and piping. Truly an oasis to move and breathe. The teachers are amazing. No matter which teacher you practice with, you can expect well-rounded, creative sequencing that invites you fully into your body. The music complements each flow, vibrating through the room and fueling your soul. As you rest in savasana at the end of class, you truly feel you've come home to yourself. As someone who's always liked yoga, but never loved the practice, I cannot say enough positive things about this studio. I've tried many yoga studios through the city and while they've all been great, none have actually been special enough to get me out of my head and fully present on my mat. The Space Between has turned a like into love and coming to class has truly become the highlight of my day. The classes are challenging, but not impossible, and the flows are always so unique and never repetitive. Not to mention the fact that because they let you reserve your spot, someone who is chronically late (like I typically am), doesn't have to worry about getting a bad spot even if I come running into the studio 5 minutes before the start of class.
