I honestly can't say thank you enough to Heather and her team at River City Liquidators. I found her through Yelp and I knew immediately after I spoke with her on the phone, that I wanted to use them for my mum's home. Having had to put my mum in memory care and having our family home with over 55 years of collectibles and 'stuff' inside, was incredibly daunting for me. I need to sell the house to pay for my mum's care, but getting to that point was overwhelming to me. Heather is patient, kind, professional, and extremely organized. She and her crew got the estate sale prepped in one day and in one weekend, most all of the contents in the home were sold. Wow! She also helped to arrange another company that she partners with to do a clear-out of what was left, including some heavy furniture. She asked the right questions, took photos and showed great confidence in tackling our huge estate. This was an overwhelming process for us, but she made the situation not so stressful for us. Choose a different Estae liquidator for your family's sake. Very disappointed in this company. I don't see them staying in the estate sale business much longer. The owner seems over worked or stressed, something. She was pretty rude to customers and rude to her staff right in front of her customers. It was a very uncomfortable situation. We got there very early at 6am to get in line. There was a list so we put our name on it, which is how 99% of companies do it. The owner shows up and tells us there is an online sign up. So we sign up and we are now #190. Come to find out they have an online sign up the morning before and someone else that got there at 5:30 am put the sign up sheet on the wall. Supposedly the real sign up sheet is in the description of the estate sale listing. Telling you to sign up online. Which is a drop down menu that we didn't even read. So weird, like a ticketmaster, lottery thing. We all know how that's working out for Ticketmaster Why would I read the description? I look at pictures and if there is something I like I wait for the address and I go. Simple. Like all the other 100's of estate sales I've gone to. I'm very surprised they don't use one of the picture spots to have a message to customers stating this policy of an online sing up. So there were a lot of upset people. It's just unorganized and rude things like this that leads me to believe they won't make it as a company. Estae sales are getting fewer these days since there is a recession coming and people are not selling houses. So only the well established and organized companies will survive. I don't recommend using them when your family is in need. We didn't end up going in and good thing because it would have been an even bigger waste of a morning since we were told that they had E-Bay prices. Maybe I'm just too critical, but I feel like if you are going to be a business working with the public you should first be kind to customers, and secondly have your business plan well developed to ensure that your client and your customers needs are both met. Which I guess circles back to the fact that I would recommend using a company with more experience. My reply to their rude response. First of all I didn't start that list, someone before me did obviously since I'm not first on the list. Seems you would have been able to figure that out yourself. Nice try. I didn't follow you around harassing you. I stood on the sidewalk discussing with you how ridiculous you sing up sheet is and how you are the only one that does it. That should show you something but obviously it doesn't. I had to be the one to tell you at least have a picture in the first slot of your listing pictures stating that you have a sign up sheet. And guess what? Next sale there is just that. Maybe I was mistaken and you were not being rude to your employee. Must have been a customer that you were being rude to, which is worse. Wow. You people have no clue what you are doing, and it obviously shows. Today I see you are having an estate sale at a farm/seed company. My gosh, any good estate sale company knows you have auctions at farm sales. I know farmers I was one and grew up on that road. Everyone knows farmers compete with each other and most won't go to another one's sale. They will send their guys maybe, but most will just bid online, the price will also get bid up and everything also gets sold that way. That company is going to lose money they could have gotten and they will still have a bunch of stuff left to clean up. Because everyone knows that at auctions where people can bid at home will buy anything and everything. But I guess they didn't know that. A good estate sale company would. Even if this seed company wanted to not do an auction, this estate sale company should have highly recommended it and convinced them. But hey, maybe the seed company wanted to make less money? Oh and no sign up sheet for that one? The one sale where you would want to do that. So strange. read more

Horrible experience with River City. They had a sign up sheet online and we signed in #3 and #4 and arrived at the estate sale 30 minutes early, and got in line in the order of sign up. A man who had arrived earlier but was later on the online sign up sheet came up to my wife and I screaming in our faces in a extremely threatening manner and got within in an inch of my face. Again, his behavior was extremely threatening, and he approached us completely unprovoked. We had no interaction with this man prior to this. As he was in my face threatening me, my wife pulled out pepper spray in self defense. She simply held it and made the man aware that if he escalated the situation to a physical level that she was ready to defend us. River City Estate liquidators came outside when they heard the commotion and barred us from entry and let the aggressor back in line to enter. Absolutely shocking experience. Edit: In response to your reply. We found the sign up sheet on your website for the listing for this estate sale. If it was not to be used then it shouldn't have been on your website. The fact that it was accessible to the public suggests that it was an acceptable means by which to sign up. Many estate sales allow you to sign up online before arriving in person, this estate sale had an online sign up sheet available and there was no reason for us to think that this situation was any different. There was nothing nefarious about our actions. If we did not see the online sign up available, then we would have showed up early as well. It is completely incompetent to put the sign up sheet online if you do not want the general public to access it. That is your mistake to own. Secondly, we did not pull out pepper spray on a crowd of 50 people. It was on a single man who approached us in a very threatening manner. We were well within our right to defend our selves. And you did allow a violent person into your sale. The man who approached us screaming was 6'2'' and acting absolutely insane. My wife is 5'8'' and I'm 5'10''. He got in my wife's face first, completely unprovoked which necessitated that I defend her. Then when he got in my face, she defended me. Both actions were completely justified and we would have gladly explained ourselves to the police, but you asked us to leave so we did. We were on the verge of pressing charges against that man. He got within in inch of my face, screaming at us, and when my wife pulled out pepperspray in self defense he said to her "if you do that it will be the last thing you ever do" and "what would you do if I just snatched that out of your hand", these are very violent statements for a 6'2'' man to say to a woman defending her self, and you still let that man enter. He was the aggressor and we acted in self defense, and we never escalated the situation to violence, meanwhile that man very much was trying to escalate the situation to violence, and had my wife not had pepper spray on her we may have very well ended up badly injured. I never said a single expletive either or shouted at anyone at that event other than the man who was threatening me and my wife. My wife was understandably upset at being attacked by a giant and then being barred from entry for defending herself from that attack. read more

We had such a fun time at the most recent River City estate sale! We shop at estate sales for a living and let me tell you, this was one of the most packed sales (inventory wise) that we've ever been too. This is truly a testament to what Heather and her team can do; I can only imagine what the residence looked like beforehand! Everything was well organized and prices were fair. They were even willing to do bundle prices, which is perfect for a customer like me! Their online sign up sheet for the first day of the sale was new to me, I wasn't so sure about it at first, but it was really nice being able to sign up early without having to physically arrive hours and hours before (especially because I traveled from an hour and a half away to this sale). We were happy to return on the last day as well and got EVEN BETTER BUNDLE PRICES! We were ecstatic! Then even happier that we got the opportunity to liquidate the clothing that was left post sale. By far one of the best estate companies around. The pricing is extremely reasonable and don't hesitate if you don't see a price! Heather will price accordingly! I brought my little person and didn't have any issues. My daughter had the best time searching for treasures; it was a family affair as I found things I didn't know i needed. We were welcome with open arms and those arms quickly filled up! There was a hold table that we could store our goodies and it was actually well watched by staff; even fellow treasure hunters! Heather at River City did a fantastic job, researched and priced collectibles as well as getting the most out of items that I never thought would sell and then cleaning out the left overs to leave my home ready to sell. She even found good homes for left over furniture so it wouldn't go to waste. She was great at communicating with me and gave me time to remove items I wanted to keep but still got the house empty in a timely manner so I could put it up for sale. I was able to make a handsome profit that I never expected when several other companies told me a sale wasn't worth their time. I had to hit one star but not even deserving of that!! WOW if you want to pay 3x collector EBAY prices this company is for you. What a joke covering up prices on photos of the items for sale in the ad. The sign up sheet online starts at 9am the day before sale I turned out to be number 124 minutes after 9am. So glad I did not take the time to be there early because everything I was interested in was still there the following day. The reason why the items were there was the fact that they research their prices and gouge the customer 3x the money. Star Wars action figures hot wheels transformers stompers all still available for a lot of money. Ridiculous, if you want to keep these items for your self River city women don't bait buyers to your sale and have them balk at your prices. You do not know how to find comparable prices for your items to make it fair for your buyers. I understand you work for the owner of these items and want to get them the most money but where do you think this money comes from. Your buyers HELLO!! Without us you or your client gets paid. I thought inflation only existed on new items but you take the cake for used items LOL Future resellers beware stay far from this company because you will not make money and collectors beware buy online you will save so much money and time!!!! read more
