This review is unsolicited, unbiased and uncompensated in any manner…read more Where the store is a quiet, unhurried vintage nirvana, "Mr Gary's" Estate sales are often fast-paced treasure hunts where non-commercial buyers like me get equal, unparalleled service as much as the next store-owner. He does not seem to list as many estate sales as his competition, but what he may lack in frequency, he more than makes up for the quality of the estates he lists. His team, especially Jessica and Mark (bravo to you, too!) are efficient, reasonable and warm with buyers. On a couple of occasions when customers forget their "grown up manners", I have seen Mr Gary take charge of the situation quietly, promptly and firmly -- thereby preserving the positive shopping experience for others. As a diligent vintage-loving, up-cycling, novice DIYer, I hope other moms like me discover and support small businesses like his. It's the perfect way to spend a few hours on a weekend - especially for those who would like to upgrade their homes with wonderful furniture, gorgeous pieces of china from decades ago (Downton Abbey-esque or mid-century modern) and discover little trinkets for special occasions. A little lunch money saved goes a long way when shopping here. Cash or credit card, Mr Gary's prices are often more than reasonable. Unlike other estate sellers, I have not ever heard him say "if you pay cash, I'll lower the price further". He just calls the prices like they are. Because of my budget, I do research before and after shopping. One hundred percent of the time, I find myself thrilled at every single bargain I've got. It's been a great shopping experience and it's also educational fun for my teens while we learn history along the way. My girls now know how to identify Bauer and Franciscan pottery. We're learning a bit about early Americana from old stamps while using them to decoupage a small end table. I just heard my 12 year old critique costumes from the movie Cinderella --this, after we bought old books of the Victorian era from Mr Gary and found well preserved photos between pages. So before you go to the next garage or estate sale, check online if he's got one scheduled for the weekend. You may just get the exemplary Schiff customer service and get converted like we did.

It is located on Del Paso Blvd and is pretty close to where I live. We visited yesterday and I was so excited to see that they had a collection of sale Uranium pieces - they even had yellow and this blue green color that I had never seen before. I ended up buying 3 pieces for under $100 which is a pretty good deal! My new pieces look so good in my little collection! My family and I walked around a bit and didn't find anything else that peaked our interest, but they had a lot of really cool things. I loved seeing their display of red glass - maybe I need to collect that next. I loved seeing their vintage toys and they had lots of plates, tea cups and even copper pots and pans. They also have a huge outdoor area with plants and outdoor décor - it was very nice and relaxing! Overall, I really enjoyed Schiff's Estate Sale Building - the lady working was very nice, knowledgeable and helpful! I wish I had got her name! We will definitely be back to check out more Uranium pieces soon! Check them out!

Here's the short version - If you and or your family find yourself in need of an Estate Liquidator,…read moredon't waste your time interviewing anyone else but Susanna Burns. She and her team are professional, they know how to set up an Estate sale to make it appealing to your eye, they market well, they know how to price, and they do what they say they will do within the timeframes given. We could not have been happier with the job they did for us. Long version - After my mother passed away, we were faced with the daunting task of cleaning out her house and preparing it for sale. We began by obtaining a dumpster and disposing of many, many, items that we deemed to have no value and be worthless. MISTAKE. Susanna could have sold much of what we disposed of and probably saved us some on the dump fees. I was amazed at what people will buy. When we interviewed Susanna she arrived on time, was dressed professionally, and came prepared with her insurance certificate, business license, a bond, and references. She explained the whole process to us (from discovering what is in the house all the way through final cleanup). After we selected her team, we discussed timing of the process and the sale. She had some very smart insight about timing, in that the sale should be long enough past Christmas that people feel like they have some spending money in their pocket again. Once they got to work, her associate Eddie took the lead is setting up the sale. They grouped items intelligently, attractively, and appropriately. Their staging of items conveys to buyers that the sale is professionally run. They priced everything in the sale, even brought in an outsider to value the art that my mother had collected over the years (sadly none were Rembrandts ). Once the sale was complete, they disposed of everything that had not sold (as they said they would), and turned over an empty vacuumed house ready to start the real estate sale process. Throughout the process Susanna and Eddie kept us informed and apprised of the whole process. My siblings and I were very happy with the whole process and the results. Since our sale, I have had the opportunity to attend estate sales put on by other companies. Dare I say they don't come close to representing an estate the way Susanna and her team do. Like I said at the beginning, don't waste your time interviewing anyone other than Burns Estate Liquidators. You will end up hiring BEL anyways.

This has to be the most expensive estate sale company in town. I was appalled! $6 for 1 placemat!…read moreSeriously, the half price day was still way too high. I'm guessing they have a "not sold" contingency that helps the bottom line. Don't bother, unless you're willing to pay Chairish.com prices at an estate sale. The items I wanted, I was sure, couldn't really be $6 each for a placemat. Additionally they weren't intact, but were unique. I decided, if that was the case, at half off it's about what I might pay at a normal estate sale. I asked the person taking money in the garage if $6 was the price per mat even with flaws. She discounted to $5 then half off which still falls above your previous claim. It was eye opening to see the level of price gouging. I had been told "Burns is the most expensive in town, which is why they get the high-end (greediest) clients" So, say what you want, I came, I saw, I reported. Looks to me like you are trying to rationalize something away that you know to be true. I repeat, I won't be back and I would discourage anyone else from attending your sales. Good luck to you.

When we arrived, my mother and I both observed how nicely all items were staged within the home, extending into the garage and additionally, the back yard. Items were neatly organized by category in the appropriate rooms which seems obvious, but I felt the attention to detail at this particular sale was impressive. Lots of quality furniture, linens, kitchen decor, art and so much more! Amazing customer service; all the employees were friendly and I got the sense that they were a strong team together. They routinely circulated throughout the home which made it easy for us to ask questions. They communicated well amongst each other and tracked all attendees purchases without any confusion. They permitted my mother and I to set aside a bundle of items for purchase and helped us bring the heavier items to the cashier station. Towards the end of our walk-thru of the property and before we completed our transactions, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Lisa. I want to thank her for being so professional and kind and engaging in conversation with me. I'm now on their email list and receive notifications on upcoming sales and am looking forward to many more estate sale events!
