Just had my driveway resealed and I have only good things to say about River City Sealcoating. From the initial inquiry to the day of the job, communication was excellent. On the day of the job, Sean arrived on time and did an excellent job of blowing off the driveway with a high-powered blower and scraping off any leftover debris. The larger cracks were carefully filled with a rubber sealant by Sean and the seal coating was applied just as carefully. 4 years ago I had another company seal the driveway but the cracks were not filled in because that company does not do that. It took about 7 months and several calls to finally get River City Sealcoating to come and seal my driveway. I waited that long because my father-in-law recommended them for doing a good job on his driveway two years ago and that they use a proprietary technology that gives good coverage of large cracks. After they finished the job they said to not walk nor drive any vehicles on the driveway for 2 days, which I followed to the letter. It turned out that after the 48 hours I placed my vehicles on the driveway and now have tire marks all over my driveway. The coating technology they use, which is softer than other sealers, seems to really take longer to cure than RCS claims. Nonetheless, my driveway continued to be damaged by tire marks for the next several days. When Sean, the owner, showed up to see what had happened he was incredulous and claimed this has never happened before and then started to blame the chemicals coming from my roof through the drainpipes spilling unto my driveway and the Amourall from my vehicles' tires. Obviously, even if that were true then this seal coat is completely useless. He then promised to come back to redo the seal coat 30 days afterwards "to give time for the current coat to settle in". Well I called him well past the 30 days on Jul 10th because, of course, he wasn't going to call me. He then said he would call me the week of July 24th to come and schedule me in for the next week (week of Aug 3rd). Well, as you can probably safely assume, he never called, he will never call, and at this point I give up. It was only a $240 job and it's not worth pursuing any longer. I'll wait another year and seal the driveway myself. Also, one last thing, my father-in-law's seal coat is starting to decay. From what I understand most seals only last about 2 to 3 years, but Sean tried to sell us both on his proprietary technology that is supposed to last longer than his competition. I can recommend Sean and River City Sealcoating for anyone who's looking to sealcoat their driveway. I was impressed with his professionalism. He provided a full quote and workup with satellite imagery and was ontime. The job, once done, was excellent. Sean uses weather underground to schedule his sealcoating services. He was very conscientious with scheduling a date with no rain 12 hours beforehand and 24 hours afterwards. He kept me updated and confirmed our appointment the day before. His appointment was at 1pm. Sean showed up 15 minutes early with a helper. He started by trimming the grass and removing growing vegetation from the cracks and cleaning the driveway. See video to be attached. We planned to sell our home in December of 2016 and a Realtor friend mentioned we should consider "Sealing" our driveway to help with curb appeal to attract buyers. We called numerous contractors in the area in towards the end of October and everyone was "shut down" for the season, earliest being March they'd be able to give us an estimate!? A close friend had recommended we give River City a call as they had work done this past summertime. Low and behold an answer on the second ring! The owner was eager to come out and give us a free evaluation and insisted he came out same day.There were a few small cracks that could have used their "crackfilling" treatment, however, with our plan to sell the home, he advised to save the money and put towards our other expenses!
