Hampton Inn Palatka - Guest room

    Hampton Inn Palatka

This weekend we had to be in Palatka, Florida for a destination wedding. We stayed in the Hampton…read moreInn and I must say it was very nice. The entire staff was amazingly helpful, breakfast was good and the rooms were very clean ( and I am extremely picky). The town looks like it is going through a renovation of sorts and will be really cute once it's done. There is some history there from WWII very interesting monuments. Overall if your life brings you to this area of Florida, stay here, highly recommended.

Upon arriving at the front desk, I was greeted by a receptionist who was neither welcoming nor professional. I was simply informed that my room had been changed, with no explanation other than that it was "the manager's decision" because the hotel was overbooked. Instead of the Riverview King room I had reserved and checked into, I was reassigned to a first-floor room near the entrance/exit door, directly across from the laundry room and the gym. It was a significant downgrade from what I had booked and paid for. After noticing that Room 305 appeared to be unoccupied, I returned to the front desk and explained that I would not accept a room that was clearly not comparable to the one I had reserved. I wasn't demanding the exact room--only a room of equal quality. Shortly thereafter, I was reassigned to Room 306 on the third floor, directly across from Room 305. This left me questioning why I had been downgraded in the first place. The front desk experience on July 3 was extremely disappointing. The receptionist was dismissive, unprofessional, and unwilling to provide a reasonable explanation for the room change. That said, I want to recognize the staff who worked on July 4. The front desk representative that day was exceptional--friendly, accommodating, and genuinely interested in resolving concerns. The housekeeping staff was also outstanding, courteous, and hardworking throughout my stay. While I appreciate the efforts of the July 4 staff and housekeeping team, the way my reservation was handled upon arrival fell far below the level of service I expect from a Hampton Inn. I hope management addresses both the communication issues and the professionalism of the July 3 front desk staff so future guests are treated with the respect they deserve.

It's located in the Heart of the historic district in Palatka, Fl. We got very lucky to be able to reserved 2 rooms for this past weekend a year ago for a wedding that we attended. We got there Friday night at around 8:00 pm and Mr. Tate was such a gentleman to assist us and guide us to our nice cozy rooms. The rooms where clean and very comfortable. We were 2 couples, Mr. Tate was very kind and made us feel at home not like customers but family guests. In the morning his daughter Abby served us an amazing breakfast She as well was very attentive and kind. We were there for 2 nights and on the second day before checking out we again had a great breakfast and after that Mr. Tate, gave us a tour of this magic place, so much history on this magnificent landmark. This is the first time that we stayed in a Bed and breakfast Inn. And truly recommend this place to everyone. Thank you very much Tate and Abby for such a wonderful experience We'll definitely be back

We came late evening and the lady who is boss there accept us showed everything, took our order for breakfast and we went to sleep! It was my first experience like this- the night in breakfast and bed huge house, a little bit creepy )))) I'm joking, but it has own story ;) great price, amazing room. I will post photos and you will see In the morning breakfast was ready on the big table in the special room and it was so cool. After what we got a small excursion in all build with an interesting story. I even didn't want to leave. Super cool place.

Crystal Cove Resort - Furniture falling apart

    Crystal Cove Resort

This place used to be our go to place to spend a week. Over the course of the past 3 years we…read morevisited this resort from July 1-5 every year. Our friends and family also joined us and we booked 4 rooms including suites. The resort had a new owner when we initially visited in 2021 and several changes were to be made. The place could be really nice but it has taken its toll over the past 3 years. The owner has not done any upgrades as were promised. The furniture is falling apart and you can't even sit on it with having flakes left on your clothing. The floors and carpet in the main lobby are dirty and stained. The fish tank up front as well as the large koi pond are not cleaned and the poor fish inside struggle for air. There is black gunk and mold all over the glass, thick and hanging from the filters. You can't enjoy the pool because it is not cleaned and there are tons of bugs. It was so bad they even closed the pool several days. The mosquitoes and flying bugs outside are so abundant that you can't even enjoy the outdoors. So much for a relaxing water vacation! Trees were not trimmed and there were several overgrown areas which I feel contributed to the excess amount of bugs. If you walked around outside you were attacked by swarms of bugs. You literally had to hold your breath when walking thru them or you would swallow some. NASTY! The rooms were pretty clean overall but in poor condition. Furniture needed updating and there was no table or chairs in our suite. Just a bed and couch. The electrical outlets kept popping making it difficult to plug anything in. It is sad that this place is in a great location but nothing is being done to make it amenable. Upon leaving we were asked if we were booking for next year. When we said no and let them know why. They didn't seem to care. So we definitely will not be back. I suggest saving your money and possibly going to another nearby location. This could take a turn for the better. But it hasn't in 3 years. Not to mention the owner was not very friendly or concerned. A final note: The AC in the main lobby and several of the rooms didn't work well and the staff thought it best to turn it off. It was better outside on 104 heat than inside a supposedly cool resort with no pool access.

Been staying at this place for a week or two at a time every other month while working down the…read moreroad the past year and a half. I've stayed at other motels but liked this one the best and they gave me a discount since I stay there so much. I have to be at another job in the morning on the opposite side of the state so I got done at this job about 11:30 am and called in and told them that I'd be leaving and needed to check out after I get my stuff. The tweeker looking chick that's been up for days with dark ass circles around her eyes like a raccoon, proceeds to tell me I'm getting charged for tonight since check out is 11. So I hung up on her, left the job I was on, went and packed up my clothes and went to the office to ask wtf. On the way down I see the house cleaner and ask her if she had been to my room yet she said no I just got upstairs and cleaning the room on the total opposite end of the building right now I won't be to yours for another while. So I wasn't stopping her from doing her job obviously. So now it's time to go to the offfice and it's her and the mgr guy probably the owner who tf knows said that yes if I stay past 11 then I'll be charged for that night. This mf tries to tell me I don't have the right to talk to his house cleaners. lol this is America mf and I'll talk to whoever tf I want to thank you. I wasn't stopping her from doing her job of cleaning my room for the next customer and you want to charge me the extra hundred dollars for tonight????. He wants to argue so I give back my special discount card and room key and walked tf out telling them I won't ever stay here again after paying my bill from the night before that I owed like a decent human being. Moral of the story: don't piss off your customers over an hour of time especially if it doesn't affect anything that you have going on because now it just cost you thousands of dollars over the next few years!!!!!! I hope the owner or investors reads this and fires both these assholes over lost clientele. Remember WE are the ones that pay YOUR FUKING BILLS!!!!!!!!!
