Looking for good local eating for the Duncan/Reidville folks? This is a good place to start. The cafe has your usual sandwich, soup and salad options in addition to coffee, appetizers, and a specials menu. I tried the chicken quesadilla and fish tacos with a friend and I'm really a big fan of cafes/restaurants that do the simple items very well. One critique I'd like for them to consider is leave a post on their restaurant door when closed for special occasions. I tried to visit once only to find out later from a friend than they posted the restaurant was closed for almost a week on Facebook. Not everyone uses Facebook! If you like supporting local like I do and like good cafe food, this is worth a visit. I will be back to try their sandwiches and follow up on a review them. read more

Food was great however I was a single diner just wanting a little lunch and wasn't greeted with kindness. I walked in and the lady just looked at me like I was crazy.. then after a brief silence, said can I help you... my reply after a bit of annoyance, was simple. "I wanna eat"! A casual lunch turns into me finding my new favorite casual go to. The menu had a lot of great options and then our server read us the special. At least 3 Brunch & 3-4 lunch as well. I was thinking wow I love having options! I ordered the Blackened Pork Chop, Black Beans and Rice, Broccoli. Y'all when I say this pork chop was big, seasoned well and juicy. The Black Beans and Rice also seasoned nicely and delicious. My husband had the Cuban Sandwich with Potato Salad. His sandwich was delicious and he said only thing he would do is ask for a little more mustard next time. As a former chef and a pretty good cook I'm always looking for good home cooked food with some twist and this place has it! One hard working man pulling it all off and our server was super nice and helpful. I've already told my husband this is where I want to have my birthday dinner because I know I'll have a great meal! There were only several customers when we sat down. I ordered a chicken BLT and my wife ordered nachos. others came in after we did, and they got their food before us. It took 30 minutes for me to get my sandwich, and another 10 minutes to get nachos. The food and the service were terrible, and the place was dark and looked dirty. We won't be back. read more

My husband and I really enjoyed our lunch today. I had the bourbon bacon cheeseburger. My husband had the French Dip. We had biscotti cheesecake for desert. Everything was delicious. Menu was not extensive but the daily specials were appetizing and well thought out. Well presented. A lot of offerings for drinks. This is definitely worth a visit! The management and staff are top-notch and very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is very nice and casual but still a good place for dates and stuff a little more formal I had the tiger rib river barbecue chicken and we also had the pork chops which were really big. The food here is always great, very tasty and well prepared. The service is good it's a mom and pop shop so it seems like it's mostly a family running it. THIS CAFE IS A GEM! Don't hesitate to get off the highway to dine here if you are traveling. The owner/chef has super fresh ingredients, and the portions are just right. Best sauce ever on the shrimp tacos, and the shrimp was seasoned and cooked to perfection. We also had the carbonara, which featured a good amount of bacon, smoked ham, cheese and fresh broccoli florets. The wait staff is delightful, very friendly and welcoming. You'll love the tunes also! Salmon dinner was very delicious, says my husband. My chicken tortilla soup was very good. The chicken Alfredo was very bland. They gave me Parmesan to put on top. It helped a little but not near as good as if it has been freshly grated. I personally would not go back if it was for the chicken Alfredo. Atmosphere , not so great. They played music but they had the television going at the same time and you could hear the television also Not pleasant to the ear while you are trying to enjoy a meal out! I threatened to move in. I think that pretty much tells you what you need to know. The food is excellent. The staff really could not have been nicer. I order their special of steak with cream gravy and sides, but I will not deny longing gazing at my cohort's Jamaican pasta dish. Got to taste it, whoa...so yummy. The background music gave me flashbacks of old Motown 45's I used to have. My goal that day was to acclimate myself with some of the coffee shops in the area I'd not explored yet, and this one popped up due to the previous ownership and old tags I guess? I am SO glad it did. There is technically coffee and the cappuccino I ordered was wonderful, but that's not my main draw when we went back several days later. read more

I just moved to the area, and this has easily become my family's favorite restaurant!!! Highly recommend!!! So far, we have tried the meatloaf special, a few steak specials, italian sandwich, shrimp quesadilla, chicken nachos, crabcake dinner special, and the chocolate cake! Everything tastes fresh and has been absolutely delicious!!! Their menu isn't huge, but they have lots of great specials each day. We have yet to try anything that we haven't loved. The owner and staff are all very friendly and accommodating! When I first moved here, he even gave us extra packs of plastic silverware to use until we had found and unpacked ours. Their customer service is outstanding and further sets them apart as one of the best local spots. It's a cute little restaurant with lots of friendly locals. We typically order to go, and it's nice that you can go in to pick-up or use their drive thru window. You can also call to check on their daily specials and to place your order. I can definitely confirm that River Falls Cafe lived up to expectations and to the glowing reviews online. The service from Hannah and Ike was top notch. They were absolute delights to chat and banter with. All four of us loved our meals. My wife said her shrimp and grits was indeed some the best she'd ever had. My steak special was equally awesome. We felt that prices were quite fair for the quantity of food received. The ambiance is very quaint and homey. Bottom line? We will definitely return and bring more friends. read more

I was in Duncan on business, and ran into River Falls on Yelp. Soooo happy I stopped in. The place has this lovely, laid back vibe. The staff was warm and personable. And the menu was a nice mix of sandwiches and night specials. I had a blackened pork chop which was tender and flavorful (and got some nicely prepared veggies with it). It's so nice to find a locally owned restaurant with good food and nice personality. (My only disappointment was they had run out of their banana pudding.) :) read more

Wow, we made a great decision trying Mama Juana Latin Fusion. We had an outstanding experience. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by the host, we knew this was going to be something different. The host asked, and was genuinely excited when we told him it was our first time in. When the waiter arrived, he was excited to tell us about the menu, as well as the food itself. He enthusiastically explained that while they had Mexican dishes, authentic Latin food was their real specialty. He made great recommendations and took great care of us throughout the meal. We chose to try the empanadas (1 cheese, 1 chicken, and 1 steak) and some cheese dip with chorizo. Both were exceptional. Full of flavor. My wife and I agreed to split 2 entrees, and that was another good decision. I had the Cachapa with shredded chicken, and she had the Venezuelan Arepas. Neither of us had ever had these dishes, but both were amazing. We were stuffed, but no way we couldn't take a desert home for later. The flan and the Tres Leches were both AWESOME! If you are on the fence, just try this place. You will be glad you did! They take a tremendous of pride in the quality of the food. The restaurant was very clean and had a great ambiance.

There were many different options but I had to try the Empanadas and the hubby had the Street Burrito. Both were delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive and I could tell we aren't the only ones that think they are great because the traffic was steady in and out of the place. Oh and they get super high kudos for cleanliness, the entire place including the bathrooms were spic and span!

We started with the beef empanadas, which were traditional, flavorful, and perfectly done. Then came the Cubano, and wow, absolutely outstanding. The pork was cooked perfectly, juicy and tender with just the right amount of crispy pieces that gave it incredible texture and flavor. We also ordered the Cajun Arroz con Pollo, and it completely blew us away. It was packed with flavor, the crispy chicken was truly perfect, and the Cajun seasoning was spot on, bold and delicious without being spicy. From start to finish, every bite was memorable. Add in the cool downtown Clayton vibe, and this place is a must visit. We'll absolutely be back.
