Country Omelette: ham, breakfast sausage, jack cheese and onions in 3 fresh eggs with country gravy on top. Fantastic hash browns.

You would never guess this place was hoppin because it's in the middle of nowhere in an abandoned strip mall. But as soon as you walk in, you realize the entire town is here! We arrived at 10:30am on a Sunday, and it was full up except for a few tables in the center (along the walls there are booths) and we got one by the door. Bad idea. Every time someone came in we'd feel the chilly air and since there was no place to put the line of waiting diners, they all congregated around us. It was very loud, but expected. It's a family restaurant after all, and a popular one at that. And for good reason! The food was great. Hot, fresh and delicious. We got the Country Omelette (ham, sausage, jack cheese and onions) with AMAZING hash browns, one pancake (crispy edges!), cherry blintzes (crepes) and corned beef hash with a couple of fried eggs and toast. Every thing was very good, waitress was friendly and food was delivered quickly. Will definitely be back during a less busy time, perhaps earlier in the day.

Nice size restaurant, lots of seating, nice staff, good size menu with some unique choices.

Very clean place with a friendly and attentive staff. The prices are quite good. I had a "turtle" waffle. The pecans were baked inside the waffle then chocolate and whipped cream on top. I think caramel sauce was also an option. Coffee kept topped off. Would definitely stop here again.

These people have great service, great screwdrivers with fresh squeezed OJ and an awesome breakfast and lunch menu. Hits the spot.

This place is gross. Food is for the old folks on a break from the home. Don't waste the money. Go to Scotty's for some good food.

Great and very reasonably priced breakfast food. They are always really busy, but we always get super fast service in spite of that!

Service was lackluster. Food was okay. Coffee was bland. My water cup was dirty. Bill was average . Overall nothing to write home about.

I called them to get some information, and the man that answered was quite rude and unhelpful. I will never eat here.

It was horrible, had to ask another patron if they even had menus…read more We ordered simple food thinking it was going to be good, it took about 25 minutes to cook a pancake, when we walked in - they had huge bags of potatoes on the floor so we were like "Oh this will be good" ... Not - my husband received frozen hash browns rather than fresh. His food was burnt and then the waitress gave us the wrong bill, I didn't notice until after we left - I always take a picture of my bill. Also, by the time we arrived home both of us were sick. I do not recommend this place, and all we wanted to do was to support our local businesses - but were treated like we didn't belong. Sad - Oh and the health inspector should pay a visit.

The very definition of a hole-in-the-wall greasy-spoon diner…read more 1. Limited counter seating? Check. 2. Locals-only regulars? Check. 3. Outdated décor? Check. 4. Sassy server? Check. 5. Huge portions? Check. 6. Great food cooked expertly? Check. 7. Absurdly low prices? Check. Setting foot in Scottie's is like stepping back in time...in the best way possible. Finding a seat is pure luck; show up early or be prepared to wait, but know that you will be waiting outside, because there isn't an inch of spare room inside. If you do find a coveted spot, grab it because it won't be there long - and be prepared to rub shoulders and knees with the person next to you. Don't worry; that's all part of the experience. You might not know them when you first arrive, but you'll be best friends by the time you leave. Pro tip: the cook is not Scottie. There is no Scottie anymore. Presumably there was a Scottie once, but his whereabouts are unknown. At least to me. Jackie is amazing. If you've seen "Alice," she is the embodiment of Flo. I'm kinda shocked I haven't heard her tell someone to "Kiss my grits!" yet. She delivers good-natured sass just as frequently as plates of steaming hot food. Again, all part of the experience. Your food is cooked to order in front of you, so you know it's fresh. Even if the place is packed it won't take long, because there are only a handful of seats. And about that food: it's damn good. You can't go wrong with any of the skillets. The biscuits and gravy are wonderful. The toast, slathered with melted butter? Heavenly. The pancakes are enormous and awesome. The coffee, hot and delicious. Best of all, when you're handed your check, you will invariably mutter out loud, "That's it?!" The prices are insanely low. They're what you might have paid for breakfast in the 1980s. Two people can easily walk out of there stuffed and only $15 poorer. Tip Jackie well. She deserves it. It may be hot in there. It will definitely be cramped in there. You might see a fly or two. You'll leave smelling like grease. But you will be happy and satisfied and already planning your next visit. Besides, like I said... All part of the experience.
