This year, we wanted to treat ourselves to a wonderful meal on Christmas Eve. We're new to this area and really didn't know where we might get a really special meal and a wonderful atmosphere - but decided to take a chance on the River Grille. And many aspects of our visit were good. Every person there treated us as special guests and the service was excellent. I had the rib-eye steak. I did have to send it back because it was undercooked initially, but when it was returned to me, it was cooked to perfection. My husband opted for the Bison filet - which, unfortunately, he found disappointing. The flavor just wasn't what he has come to expect from bison filets which is one of his favorite meals. I set up a business dinner here for eight people. They were very accommodating and friendly. We usually would have our dinner meetings at the only other steakhouse in NWA but decided to give this a chance. Great food and good service. The appetizers were a little cold when they were brought out even though they should have been warm. The steak was done right and the sides were excellent. The key lime pie was delicious and the creme brûlée was very good. This is a great place for a formal dinner or a business dinner. I will definitely come back. I would have liked to see a visit from the chef or the general manager during our dinner but the food did all of the talking. I like to meet the chef if possible. read more

Always thought that Ruth's Chris was where one went for the finest steak and most attentive service. Been a fan for years and in multiple locations during my travels. Retired now and living on the lake and in the sticks. We tend to cook at home now but enjoy a random dinner out. We were heading from Bentonville towards Pea Ridge around 4pm and decided to stop for a drink and check out River Grill. Decided to have an early dinner in the bar. Both of us had the filet, his with a luscious Oscar treatment, mine naked with béarnaise on the side. One of the best filets I've ever had, anywhere. And don't overlook the sides and salads. Standard upscale steakhouse with standard quality. It's a beautiful restaurant with very traditional design. Pork bell appetizer (2.5/5) - nothing particularly remarkable except how for even something as naturally tasty as pork belly, this wasn't very tasty Shellfish risotto (3.5/5) - pretty good flavors and the shellfish tasted fresh. Spinach and bacon (3/5) - I would have preferred the spinach sautéed more as this was a bit closer to raw but it was still tasty with the bacon. Truffle steak fries (2.5/5) - I was imagining steak fries which are more rectangular in cut but these were more like wedges. We also had originally ordered onion rings but were only told half way through the meal that they ran out of onions -- who runs out of onions?! Service was good. Our waitress was apologetic about some long waits and seemed genuinely welcoming and friendly. To be fair to this place, no one in our party tried the steaks but based on the menu listing of ingredients, there didn't look to be anything special. read more

We are here tonight for the first time in about 15 years. I couldn't tell you why it's been so long, but we will be back very soon! We came in at 5:30 without reservations (strongly recommended). Even though they were full for the evening with reservations, they made room for us and were such gracious hosts. We had seafood pasta, duck, Cesar salad, and some very "grown up" mac and cheese. Excellent atmosphere and dining experience. Very good food and service is refined. Expensive, but River Grill is not your customary daily dining place. Big disappointment. Very nice atmosphere/dining room and the waiter was great as was the live music. That being said the food was less than good. When paying $30 for chicken you expect something that is going to melt in your mouth. Mine was so overcooked and dry, also was drowned in an awful gravy. Everyone else at the table had various dishes and all were disappointing. The one good meal was the lobster, how can you mess up something that is just smothered in butter, but at $40 you expect more than 6 very small bites. Very overpriced for the quality/quantity. We will not be going back there. I would suggest you come here for drinks and music but look for a good meal elsewhere. read more

Those hot-new trendy places have nothing on this restaurant. I love a salad...but I eat mostly veggies and most restaurants will have a wild list of ingredients but a small pretty portion. River Grill has an enormous salad! Lump crab, giant grilled shrimp, blanched asparagus, mushrooms, artichokes, cherry tomatoes chickpeas and more. Outstanding! My husband and I went for his birthday dinner and it was simply amazing. We were brought to our table where we received a lovely Happy Birthday note and a gift card for our next visit. The waiter, Marty, also asked us about how much time we wanted to spend..i.e. did we want to enjoy the appetizers and then order or were we in more of a hurry.This allowed us to have a wonderful conversation plus a calm relaxing experience, something you often can't find these days. The atmosphere is quiet and intimate with a wonderful man playing piano in the corner. So much better than piped in music! The food was terrific. My husband really enjoyed the mussels and the master cut ribeye. He also appreciated the waiters suggestions for wine pairings for each dish. Marty even brought him 3 types of red wine to taste before making a decision. My salad was fantastic and my was filet cooked perfectly. Overall top notch service, atmosphere and quality food. Bentonville, Arkansas not to much going on here but the River Grille is definitely a good place to stop for lunch or dinner. Went here for lunch and it happens to be right next to my hotel. I had the California Wrap and a Chicken Caesar Salad. Price was reasonable not expensive and the service was good. I sat in the bar which had lots of seating so if you have a big group I think you would be fine. The service was good, the waitress was quick with service and my drink was always full. The California Wrap was really good, ingredients were really fresh and the cucumber dipping sauce was refreshing. Going to try and make it here for dinner, looks like they have a really good selection of steak and other entrees. read more

Beautiful restaurant with very friendly staff. Foods are amazing. It is one of the place to go to celebrate a special occasions.

I'm giving this place 2 stars for a few reasons. First of all, the food either came out some what cold or burning hot. Second, we were treated like we did not belong there. My boyfriend and I are 22 and 24, we were dressed nice and ordered expensive stuff off the menu. We had manners, tipped over 20%, and said please and thank you. The serve was rude and short with us, she also almost didn't serve us alcohol because she thought we were underage. Third, there was a paper wrapper in my drink. Absolutely unacceptable. The only reason I'm not giving one star is because my pasta was decently tasty. Will not be coming back unless service gets better. You should never discriminate or treat someone as though they don't belong. We should not have spent $300 on that dinner. read more

I took my girlfriend on a date here recently for dinner and had the best experience of how a meal service is supposed to be conducted. We were both blown away at the attentiveness of our server! (We believe his name is Kieth.) He conducted himself around us and others while at the same time preserving the intimacy of our date. Our server was a delight and helped us pick out everything from our appetizers to our desert. My girlfriend had the catch of the day which was Mahi Mahi served on a bed of amazing mushrooms and the most amazing sauce. I had the beef tournedos (cooked medium rare which is exactly what I asked for), they were served with a perfectly crafted sauce, fresh asparagus, and excellently cooked potatoes. For dessert we had Crème Brûlée that was served with fresh blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries to add just the right amount of tart and sweetness. Came here with a large work group for a Christmas lunch. We were able to have the full menu, not just the lunch menu. Our waiter (I think his name was Jeff) was fantastic and the atmosphere was nice, but everything else was sad. They want to be a Ruth's Chris or Does but they're just not, yet still price as if they were. We were about two hours start to finish, mostly waiting on appetizers and meals. The appetizers were VERY small. The scallop appetizer had one, maybe two scallops scoped thin on the plate. The crab fritter and bacon wrapped pepper came with four piece each (obviously not ideal for a group of people to try different things, but even if you were a couple you would only get two pieces each?). I got the 7oz filet along with about half of our table. The sizing was VERY varied. Mine was probably five ounces, and lukewarm. It didn't have great flavor, just average, and no comparison to Ruth's Chris or Does. The risotto was very salty but also lacked flavor. Nice try, but this restaurant just isn't worth the price. read more

I would recommend making a reservation, especially on the weekends. The food is consistently good as is the service. The soup du jour once was a great lobster bisque. My wife & I were dazzled with River Grille Steakhouse's Wednesday night delivery special: locally sourced bone-in pork chops w/cherry balsamic glaze. The biggest chops I've seen outside of a Flintstones cartoon, SRSLY! The sides, roasted garlic whipped potatoes and butter garlic corn, were delicious! And the spinach salad with strawberries was just heavenly. It was a marvelous deal for the price. We're already making plans for our next delivery! The steak was delicious, potatoes were some of the most flavorful I've had, lobster was good and the appetizers were delightful. I've been to River Grille many times but they outdid themselves tonight for a special birthday party. We had a private room with two waiters.EVERY SINGLE DETAIL WAS PERFECT. The wait staff was super helpful, the front of house arranged special dietary accommodations for a few members of our party and the food was excellent, as usual!
