Great experience to pick out your pumpkins. Such a variety to choose from. And you get to use one of their wagons to cart your pumpkin around to make sure you pick out just the right one. Went to check out and pay for the pumpkins and the staff was friendly. They even have ice cream and waters for sale. And if pumpkin picking wasn't enough, you can pay to go through the corn maze. Its only $5 per person. If you've never gone through a corn maze, you should as it is fun. Haven't been to theirs but I'm sure it's just as fun as others I've been to. read more

I was on the hunt for a family-friendly pumpkin patch to visit while in Paso Robles for the weekend. River K provided all the perks of a traditional farm-like pumpkin patch with tons of photo opportunities, and free admission! The location was perfect, less than 10 minutes from downtown but still supplied a countryside feel. The open area was vast and well-decorated for fall. There were plenty of fun Halloween themed boards with face cutouts for photos which had us all laughing. I wanted to give River K a higher rating but unfortunately the majority of pumpkins were beginning to go bad (9 days before Halloween) and my family could not find a carvable pumpkin. Additionally, the corn maze was a decent size but was not very challenging for the price of $7 to enter. read more

My kids love the pumpkins and the maze every year it's a tradition and the different spots to take a picture and the carts for your pumpkins very convenient! Love it keep on getting better we look f to every year . read more

We decided to try a new pumpkin place this year, we usually bring the kids to Avila Barn, and Chesebrough. River K was pretty underwhelming and very pricey. The pumpkins can be unique, as you pick them yourself, but they have not been rotated and most are flat on one side. Mold and spiders tended to claim the bigger pumpkins already. Good place to go pick your own pumpkins. The corn maze wasn't available or at least seemed like it wasn't active this year. The patch almost seemed empty to an extent. The young gal who welcomed us was very nice and helped us get familiar with the layout of the different pumpkins. The lady checking us out was friendly as well. This is such an adorable place!! I am so glad I stumbled upon it We just happened to be in the area so we decided to check this place out since it is pumpkin season and well I am so glad I did. They had a lot of kid friendly activities and for being so close to Halloween they had a pretty good selection of pumpkins. This place was pretty fun and a breath of fresh air from those other over crowded pumpkin patches in slo county. The corn maze was pretty large and authentic. If you like getting lost in tall vegetation this could be the place for you. There were a lot of good pumpkins to choose from and they were reasonably priced. The decorations are what make this place awesome. It's apparent that they put a lot of care into this place and it's where we'll be going from now on. read more

I'm very disappointed in how they treated a veteran with his service dog they told him he was not allowed because they have no allow dogs but he's a service dog for a reason! I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they make it right because it's not fair to a man that is served his country and needed a service dog! read more

First of all, we walked up to the horse drawn carriage right when we got there at 5:28 and saw they stop at 5:30, the man told us NO. He also told our kids to get back (they were already behind the gate around the horses) because the horses would bite them. Ok, whatever, guess you didn't want $50? (There were 10 of us there). So we grab a wagon and start wandering...This blonde lady stomped across the fields towards our group's children to tell them (the kids) to stop using the pumpkin wagon...okay...these children are ages 3-7. They're checking out all the things, she follows us to another attraction muttering under her breath that our children are "obnoxious" it's a freaking PUMPKIN PATCH, lady! I thought it was for IDK, maybe FAMILIES...and CHILDREN?? She THEN proceeds to walk to the picnic table where we all went and started taking rudely directly to the kids again until my friend blocked her path and told her to back off!! The woman starts hollering that we wouldn't like it if she came to our "HOUSE" and started climbing on things. Told us "this is private property" Lol!!! Okay, then we're leaving. Left our pumpkins and went home! She can keep her rotten field of sad little pumpkins. Good luck when you run off your local customers. Heard her yelling at what I'm assuming was her husband about our terrible children lol as we left. Brookshire Farms, Jack Creek, literally any other pumpkin patch around here are soooo much more fun and welcoming!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This place is beautiful but the people who run the show are so rude. When I went to buy my pumpkin the cashier implied that I don't know how to do basic math? "You know 15 + 10 makes 25, do you even know how to do math?" like I couldn't count for myself, didn't even give me time to think about the cost before saying that to me. Extremely rude experience I'm never coming back here again. Don't wast your money on people who are disrespectful. read more

Great pumpkin patch! Had a great time with a group of friends. We had gone for the corn maze and didn't get pumpkins but from what I saw they looked good and for a pretty good price as well. But the reason I was there was for the corn maze (5$ to get in fantastic price!), now let me tell you, it's a good one we got pretty lost for a good solid 50 min. We had even begun to become a bit frustrated with ourselves as we were struggling a bit! It was great and there was ice cream. We had a great time definitely love this one read more

The wicked witch of River K was at it again calling young children names, being unprofessional and extremely rude to visitors. We refused to be customers, took our business elsewhere and will never return. If you have children, I'd recommend going to ANY pumpkin patch/farm but this one. read more

I thought this was a super cute pumpkin patch. Lots of pumpkins to choose from... Cute displays and a corn maze to boot! The corn maze is $5 for those 6 years or older. I would recommend it... Thought it was super unique and worth the money. Lots of photo opportunities with the multiple displays. Horse led Hay ride available as well, although we didn't take advantage of that. We had a great time at this pumpkin patch! They have a HUGE field, well tended, with clean straw lined paths that encouraged the kiddos to explore without getting too muddy. The staff kept to themselves (hot day, hid in the shade of their booth), but when we did say Hi, they were very sweet to us and the other family with us. They never complained about the toddlers running free through the field (yeah, sticking to the path was a nice theory), and were very prompt about calling down the hay ride for us. 99% of the pumpkins were in beautiful shape, and we took home a few whoppers to carve for Halloween. They have all sizes, shapes, and colors of pumpkins which seemed reasonably priced. Of course they're not as cheap as the grocery store, but Von's also doesn't provide 2 hours of entertainment for my toddler (maybe yours has a longer attention span). As a mom who always has her hands full, I also appreciated the loaner wagons provided at the front. I HIGHLY recommend the hay ride! This is the most authentic and most fun hay ride my husband and I have ever done. The "roadside attractions" are a little cheesy (though I love their carriage collection), but the HORSES are the showstopper! They are gorgeous, well trained, and really know how to take your breath away (P.S. When they say to HOLD ON, you'd better do it!) We didn't do the corn maze... the girls were ready for their nap... but the hubby and I are hoping to come back for an evening tour... one of the owners said they're often open as late as 9pm! I think an after-dark pumpkin hunt would be really fun here! My only suggestion to them would be to put burlap on the hay bales in the picnic area and on the hay ride. I know I'm nitpicking, it's just the kind of thing I notice. It was a hot day (October often is in Paso) and we were in shorts, so my daughter's legs got pretty scratched up during lunch. But seriously, I KNOW this is a farm and that's the only thing I would improve on. For other OCD moms like me, maybe pack a few beach towels along with your picnic :) read more

They treated us HORRIBLE when we left because we didn't purchase anything only went on the hay ride ( we were in a group of two families and the other family was going to do the corn maze and buy pumpkins after we left but after the owners rampage at us for what she assumed was going to be a lost sale, we all left purchasing nothing). We took family pictures there, purchased two families worth of a hay ride ( not knowing it wasn't benefiting the pumpkin farm to not do that) and then my children and I were going to leave and the rest of the family was staying to do the hay maze and purchase their pumpkins. The lady working the booth was so irate that she thought we had just come for a hay ride and pictures and to let our kids play .... she told us it wasn't the city park and if we "wanted to have fun to go to Avila Valley Barn"..... so that is exactly what we will be doing from now on ! She made quite a scene in front of everyone there. I tried to go back in and talk with her and she was still going on. We will NOT be returning to this pumpkin patch ! This is the second time in 8 years this has happened. read more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!!!! BEWARE! Kid friendly??? My butt! I am so angry at the way this Old jerk treated my toddlers! He was horrible! My 2 and 3 yr old children were overwhelmed with joy - being that Halloween is their favorite time of year - and yes, they were touchy; they are children! Our family recently went to the River K Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze for the first time on October 17th. We heard it was a good place for family fun. We paid to let our kids go in the corn maze. We were disenchanted with the unprofessional and inappropriate behavior coming from the maze. The teenage staff collecting the money at the maze booth closed the money booth and entered the maze with their friends during business hours. There was foul language (f-words and s-words) and yelling and scaring at our kids all coming from the staff and their friends. They yelled at our kids to stop following them, it is a maze you may happen to follow others in a maze. I was personally let down and disappointed with our family's experience, especially for our kids at this so called family-friendly place coming from the immature and unprofessional staff and their friends. I was hoping to make some fun family memories, but our kids do not want to go back at all, EVER! I wanted to report it to a person in charge but I did not know the proper person to report to. My suggestion is for the owners of the business to pay some mature, accountable and professional adults to run the maze and babysit the immature staff and their infantile friends at the corn maze. Our family will try the Granny's Garden at San Marcos Ranch for a better family fun experience and positive memories for our children. I mailed this letter in October 2015, but never got a reply or an apologize back from the business. I wanted to share my horrible experience. read more
