The Cambria Christmas Market is such a magical place and a perfect spot to visit with family or friends during the holiday season!! I've been to a Christmas market in Colorado before, and this one takes it to a whole new level! Tickets can sell out quickly, so it's a good idea to grab them in advance if you can! The lights here are absolutely incredible! There are so many of them, and they have some unique displays like glowing elephants and jellyfish, which make it really special. At the entrance, there's a little market with delicious food options and fun shops to explore, where you can also grab some hot cocoa or cider as you walk around! And yes, they do sell alcoholic drinks here. The Cambria Christmas Market is one of my favorite holiday traditions. I highly recommend!! read more

Wow what a beautiful display of lights, 3 million that is. Used to be more but COVID ruined some of there supplies. I have been to other light festivals in LA but this by far has been the best I have seen. The location is pretty cool too because it is at the Cambria Pines Lodge which is a really nice hotel. We were taken to the location via shuttle that picked us up a few doors down from our inn. As soon as it rolled up, we were transported to Whoville. Our drive Sonia aka Cindy Lou Who. The shuttle played Christmas music and had lights and a Christmas tree inside. This definitely got us ready for the night. Entering the event was so easy and the staff was great. Very organized and not a long wait even though there was a lot of people. As you walk in, there are areas to buy adult drinks, hot cocoa, hot cider, and many more. There are food windows to also buy some yummy food. There are vendors throughout the area to purchase custom made gifts. Note: be sure to make a purchase to support your local small business. At the end of the "plaza" area, you go through this walkway that transports you to Christmas. So many lights and pop ups where you can take pics with your friends and family. Lines aren't too long when they first open but once it is an hour into the event, the lines get a bit longer. There are more vendors throughout the walkway where you can buy custom made gifts straight from Germany and other similar items. Such a cool concept! After we were done with the lights, we went back to plaza area to ride the $5 per person train. It was pretty cool and even snows in a section. Once we got off we ate. We ordered the Brat sandwich, Pulled Pork Mac n Cheese, hot dog, crinkle fries, and a pretzel with beer cheese. The Mac n cheese was a good size and tasted really good. There was a little kick but nothing I couldn't handle. Fries were amazing and I wanted more once we were done. Pretzel was a bit hard and chewy but that didn't ruin our meal. Everything else was yummy so we're good. So, if you are in the area or looking for a cool Christmas event to take your family to, I highly recommend going. It is only approximately 4 hours from LA and if needed there are some cool places to stay in the area. You will not be disappointed and if you go early and before Christmas, you may run into Mr and Mrs Claus. Catch them before they go back to the North Pole. read more

Pricey but worth a splurge. I wanted to stay here during the Christmas season and booked a room at the hotel which included tickets to the Christmas Market. It's open 5:00-9:00 Wednesday to Sundays (check website for more details about the event schedule) and there's 3 million lights decorating the place. Food is available and the popular ones runs out by 8:00. Alcohol is available and the Gluwein (mulled wine) was so tasty we took home 2 bottles. read more

I try to go visit the Cambria Lights each year because it's always so beautiful to see. The amount of thought and time that goes into each display is truly astounding. It's the perfect place to go for a date, or a fun night out with your friends or family. I always purchase a cup of hot chocolate once inside, so I have something warm and yummy to sip on while taking in all the lights. There are plenty of food and drink vendors to choose from. I recommend planning on getting there right at 5 when they open so you are not rushed. Also note that the shuttle process to get up to the lights takes approximately 30 minutes. This year I went after Christmas which meant the tickets were cheaper and it was less crowded since it wasn't sold out. If you want to get into the holiday spirit, this is the place to visit. My experience started well before arriving at the market as I purchased a package which allowed me to take a shuttle from my hotel to the market and the ride did not disappoint. I was greeted by the grinch and hopped on a fully decorated coach complete with Christmas music and the grinch as the shuttle chauffeur. When you enter the market, the first area is filled with food and craft vendors as well as a holiday decorated tent where you can sit , sip and enjoy live music. As you make your way around, you're surrounded by a variety of Christmas light Installations as well and local craft vendors and artisans. I was told they used 3 million lights to create the various displays and installations. The property is expansive and provides different scenes to explore. In addition to the lights, there are also various venues with live music including the local ukulele club strumming and singing holiday tunes. The event is great for families as well as a wonderful date night with your partner or outing with friends. There is something for everyone. There are plenty of food and drink options including festive adult libations such as beer, wine, adult holiday drinks to keep you fueled for the fun. This is a yearly event for me!! I love it so much!! Lights, food, shopping and gluhwein! A recipe for greatness!! Over the years, they have changed the shuttle locations. This year, it was across the street from our B&B, which is awesome. Hop on a shuttle and get dropped off at the Cambria Pines lodge. Once you walk in, there is food and shopping every where you look. You can choose to eat before or after looking at lights. I would highly recommend grabbing a bite to eat, grab a cup of gluhwein and then check out the lights. Don't forget to check out the Cambria Pine Nursery lights and gift shop. Amazing!! Lots of different shops to check out. Candles, candies, toys, kitchen items. This year was my first time visiting the Cambria Christmas market. We arrived early so that we could enter as soon as they opened, and I'm glad we did! We were able to order food and do some light shopping before the big crowds rolled in around 45-60 min after opening. I had the tomato basil bisque from one of the booths and it was perfect for the cold night. The place is dog friendly, many of which are dressed in festive sweaters and pjs! Lots of walking and stopping for photos. Beautiful display of lights all around. We were there for about 2.5 hours and were able to get through the whole market. Overall, I'm glad I got to experience this and would recommend checking it out at least once! read more

Once again, a wonderful time at the Cambria Christmas Village. Lights, food, booths, photo ops, etc, it has it all. Always great customer service. Love the free shuttle service at the local school pickups. Daughter absolutely loved it! The schnitzel sandwich is awesome and looked forward to it all year. Perfectly crispy, salty, crunchy, tender, juicy meat. Coleslaw cuts through it with freshness and bite, little sweetness. So we get off the highway to find a place to eat when we are being directed to where we can park. I asked an officer, "what's going on?" and he mentioned the lights. Which is duh because you can miss it. Apparently 3 millions lights are used here. We were hungry and we found a place inside that sold us some Mac N cheese with pulled pork. It was good although the BBQ sauce was a little sweet for our taste. The place was elbow to elbow. I've never heard of this until my husband told me about it. We were in town after Christmas and decided to book tickets in advance. I love how dog friendly it is, but on the downside, you can't bring your dog on the free shuttle. So you have to opt for VIP parking which costs about $50 per car. In addition tickets are at least $30, so we did spend quite a bit of money here. Overall the experience was nice and it was cool to see the first time but we probably won't be coming back again. We got here a little past 5PM and the crowd was starting to build up. Pick up wristbands at the ticket office with some unfriendly service, use the porter potties, then walk across the street to the main attraction. There are so many lights! It is quite magical to see. However, it was incredibly crowded especially as you get closer to the middle of the evening. Times it would be hard to move and enjoy spots, you're too focused dodging folks. The whole thing lasted at most an hour. Afterwards we went back to the entrance and checked out the Christmas gift shop inside. That was another fun experience, the biggest Christmas gift shop I've seen loaded with beautiful Christmas decor! You walk through hallfways and rooms with different Christmas ornaments, gifts, and such. Took lots of picture there as well. read more

I went to the Cambria Christmas Market with a group last night for the first time, not knowing what to expect. I was delighted to find out on our shuttle that we were gearing up to see three million lights! I thought the experience might have been more similar to a street fair, but this market exceeded thar expectation. The experience was a smooth one, from the moment we rode the shuttle from the downtown area, until the moment we got back. We were lucky to find a parking spot right by the shuttle and to get the first shuttles there and back without having to wait in line! The drivers and ambiance of the shuttle were very nice. The lights were beautiful. They had a great variety of displays, and everything was super colorful! There were lots of vendors and some live music. It felt pretty magical to walk around; this was the best light exhibit I've been to thus far, particularly for the price. read more

Ok so this place was hella crowded. Like Disneyland on a holiday weekend crowded. Whats the point of selling "tickets" when anyone and everyone can come and there is no limit to the amount of people allowed inside? Can't walk anywhere without bumping into to strollers or unaware people wandering aimlessly. Can't take any pictures without a million heads of strangers in them. I mean the lights were awesome, but way way way too crowded for the entrance fees and then the prices once you got inside were outrageous. Like 16$ for a crappy little pizza. Give me a break. Glad i went and saw it once, but we will never ever go back. Total buzzkill. We were excited to go all week. It's more like a tourist trap than a fun family adventure imo. I will say there are lots of different booths with stuff for sale, and a good selection of venders. The employees seemed nice with decent bus service, and friendly drivers, but all in all it was a 3 star experience at best. And thats being very generous. read more

Wow so sad, 3.5 stars only on Yelp? I don't know what happened for others but we had a blast here. I think it was one of the best Christmas markets I have ever been to. Been to many in the past and this one beats all of them probably bc of the thoughtful light display. It was miles of light decorations all around. There was variety and themes in the light decorations in different areas of the market. It was just gorgeous. I especially loved the light display of the 12 days of Christmas where it was paired with singing/musical recording. They had live music playing in one area. The food offered looked good though we didn't order bc we ate beforehand. The hot chocolate was yummy and not too watered down. Our kids were well entertained for more than an hour and we got our steps in too!! The parking is a bit confusing beforehand. You have to park in their downtown area and bus to the location. Final highlight was this store where there were a ton of Christmas decorations being sold but going inside and looking was fun! read more

This was my family's firs time at the Cambria Christmas market and we had such a fun time! There are plenty of photo opportunities for people to enjoy and the light displays themselves are AMAZING. One thing that would be nice is a clear path of which way to go to enjoy all the lights and not miss anything. We did accidentally reach an exit point and realized we missed the way to go down and see more of the lights. But honestly the lights and the music playing were lovely. I also liked that the music wasn't blaring so painfully loud that you can't conversate with your group. I also enjoyed the fact that this marker was dog friendly! It was so cute seeing some of the dogs dressed up in their Christmas outfits. We also enjoyed that before the area where the lights are there's the market where they're selling traditional German foods (the schnitzel sandwich was very tasty!) and lots of small businesses where you could also do some Christmas shopping. To get to this event we opted to do the free parking at one of the schools and then take the free shuttle. It was very easy to navigate and all of the staff were very patient and kind with all the passengers! Would definitely recommend to other ppl to attend, it was worth the $30 to me. read more

Maybe I haven't experienced too many night light installations, but was in the area and decided to purchase tickets here. It was so cool! Spent 1.5-2 hours wandering around and looking at the bright flashy lights. It's dog-friendly as well! However, you do need to purchase VIP parking passes to bring your pup in! Two cons. The first is I expected more vendors, but didn't see as many as I expected. I came after Christmas so I'm not sure if that impacted anything. Paid $50 per person just for entry to be shoulder to shoulder with people inside the entire time. The shuttle lines are crazy long so beware. We got to the shuttle line at 3:45pm and did not make it to the entrance gate until 5:30pm. Wasted almost 2 hours waiting to be taken up a hill 5 minutes away. No organization whatsoever so people just do whatever they'd like. 15$ for a beer and $20+ for personal pizza. Vendors were all extremely overpriced, will not be returning. read more

Truly one of the best light displays, if not the best, I've ever seen. When you read 2 million lights it doesn't really register how many lights there are until you see if for yourself. As soon as I set my eyes on the display I was whisked away into a world of Christmas magic. Unfortunately the same wasn't true for the market portion of the event. I guess was expecting the market to be larger and have more food/drink/shopping options. The beer garden had a few different cocktails, all were EXTREMELY sugary and pretty weak. They were festive so I'll give them that, but one was more than enough sweetness. Food options were better than drink options, though there still wasn't a lot to choose from. I noticed a pizza stand in the beer garden, a hot dog booth, some snacks like popcorn and sweets, and a pot pie/soup booth. We got a pot pie and some clam chowder. Clam chowder was pretty unimpressive and way too herbaceous. Turkey pot pie was loaded up with turkey, but that was about it. We came on Friday night the week before Christmas and the market was packed! Though the lights were beyond magical, what wasn't magical was the amount of people right on top of you. The light display had a fairly good path, but there were a few areas that you could branch off, and more than one entrance, which didn't make for the best flow of traffic. The lines for food were also fairly long, but the food and drinks did come up quick once they were ordered. Parking - After seeing a sign that the shuttle lot was full, we headed into town and easily found street parking near the west village shuttle stop. After about 3 shuttles we finally made it on one and were off to the market. Overall I would return for the lights, but thats it. I would plan to eat and drink before coming back. read more

Cambria Christmas Market, Cambria, CA - November 29, 2023 We arrived at the Cambria Christmas Market event at about 4:45 pm at the grammar school parking area in Cambria. We caught the shuttle bus down to the market. The bus was decorated with festive Christmas decorations and the bus driver was dressed as Santa. We departed at 5 pm and were down at the market a little after 5 pm. If you've never been to the Cambria Christmas Market, and you like lights (about 2 million in all) with a Christmas theme - tales of old Saint Nick, four calling birds, three French hens, two turtledoves, and a partridge in a pear tree, then this event is for you. Make sure you sign up ahead of time, because the event does sell out pretty quickly. And the longer you wait to get a ticket, the more expensive they become. We came on a Wednesday evening. Getting there early is also an advantage because it does become pretty crowded as the evening wears on. After you get your tickets scanned at the entrance, there are places to get food and drinks (with and without alcohol), live entertainment, and lots of vendors with all sorts of arts and crafts booths, lots with a Christmas theme. As you walk along the path, you come to many nicely decorated, bursting with colors, lights. As you continue along the path, you cross a street (protected by human crossing guards) to a nursery, which is also very nicely decorated with Christmas lights. They have a gift store there with lots of Christmas items. I saw some of the nicest artificial Christmas trees I've ever seen fully decked out in decorations - I'm thinking in the $2-$3 thousand dollar category. This is a fun, well organized, event; fun for kids and adults of all ages. read more

My second time going was Nov 30 2022 Before I went prior to COVID TOO CROWDED even on Wednesday Buy your tickets in advance on their website that uses Eventbrite I also booked the VIP parking and I won't again, reasons why ... instead of parking in the paved nursery lot they had a bunch of us park behind it on narrow dirt area El that is the bavk working storage yard to the nursery and the woman directing us was oblivious to our new Ford Platinum F350 crew cab needing more space, she also sent a dually long bed back there along with regular cars It was stressful and we parked over a woodpile Definitely not VIP, had to hike out in dirt back to the real parking lot We did arrive at 5 when it opened but it quickly became congested with people and the two way routes are awful We will take free shuttle next time And then we discover we are at the End of the lights walk and to meet my son who came on shuttle we had to speed walk the entire lights toir to get to the front bus drop off area All of this just put a damper on my evening You check in and get a wristband Kids 5 & under are free The bathrooms are portapottys but so small I had a hard time as I won't sit on that seat It is very shallow and not enough room for a woman to stand hover over, my knees had no room The booths sell some cool ornaments and stuff but some are too expensive Others are reasonable prices Linns of Cambria sells pot pies but not actual pie and we wanted like apple and berry pie The adult kids had hot alcoholic drinks and kids had apple cider The lights are great and I think it's way more lights than 5 years ago but they don't change out the displays, so if you go this year it will be same next year Also I heard others walking by comment on how they should change the route to be one way ! Light display was quite impressive. But the visit was completely ruined by two staff/volunteer/security members. Roma, a security officer was unnecessarily rude as i was entering the VIP parking entrance, which I paid nearly $65.The other rude person was a guy with a yellow parka at the entrance, just steps from the ticket window. who went out of his way to hassle me at as I was leaving AT 530 PM. Huge and varied displays of lights, lots of Christmas crafts and trinkets on sale. Lots of aides or volunteers to help guide you. Depending on your walking speed, the 5-9pm period is ample but don't start at 7:30! Quite a walk to the end and back. I'd recommend a walk through the Nursery from 9-3 during the day and a visit to the Cambria lodge fireplace room as well. The "hot chocolate" on the Christmas tour sort of smells like chocolate but is brown water for an exorbitant price, and a lot of their food is "bleh" also. read more

This activity is very fun for the whole family and well organized. You parked in a high school with plenty of parking where is people directing all the time then you make a long line but it moves fast where constantly tourist or city buses all decorated with lights come and picked you up and drives you to the event. I like this service because makes everything more smooth and easy. At arrival we choose what to eat ( a lot of Germany food, yum) and do some shopping around a very good selection of artisan and crafty stuff and after that we went through the beautiful park full FULL OF LIGHTS, they celebrate every single holiday from all around the world. Go with time because is a lot to walk or stroll ( easy access for any kind of stroller or wheelchair) and the park close sharp at 9pm so if too late already they don't let you pass to a section where take another extra 30 minutes more. You need to reach to that area before 8 if you want to complete the whole thing. For the whole experience for us the value was good. We will come back with more time for sure. Magical! We thought it was very well organized from the entry to the shuttles. Fantastic light displays perfect for families and groups.

First, you take a shuttle bus from one of their remote stops to drop you off. We chose the high school since it had lots of parking. This is an easy self-guided walking tour of the main grounds and their nursery. There are ALOT of lights here with themed displays, various shapes and colors, and exhibits. Great for the kiddos too! I have been wanting to go to the Cambria Christmas Market to check out the Christmas lights because I'm a kid at heart when it comes to Christmas and enjoying the holiday lights. Tickets are avail right after Thanksgiving all the way up to Christmas but from my experience sell out quickly. The Christmas Market has over 2 million lights as well as a German themed market with food and vendors. It is a fun experience for both children and adults. We got there early and parked in West Village and rode the shuttle to the market, which is located at the Cambria Pines Lodge. I didn't mind walking more, but there was an option for VIP parking at the nursery across from the lodge. We walked through the lights first and then checked out the vendors and food. The lights were delightful and there are many educational activities throughout the event. Tales and folklore of historic pastimes from all over the world but a primary focus with German background. It took us a little over 3 hours to enjoy the festivities. We worked up an appetite and wanted to try a few different items. We had a bratwurst which was tasty but not memorable. We found a vendor with several different hot pies and we chose to try the Mac and cheese pie and the Meatloaf Pie, both were savory and pleasantly tasty. I thought the prices were decent for the value of the food. The train was closed so we weren't able to check that out. We were too full to try the pizza but we went to check out the area it was in and there was a local musician playing guitar and singing. I was never the person who was seeking out Christmas markets and wanted to see the holiday lights, until I had a child. This place came up when I was browsing Eventbrite for Halloween events, it was $25 per adult at the time and I figured I'll be in the central coast during Thanksgiving weekend let's just buy them. I was lucky, because a couple weeks later I received an email stating that the Christmas Market is no longer selling tickets to the public and that only hotel guests and people with dinner reservations. The Eventbrite ticket holders will still be honored though and that we can upgrade our tickets for an additional $25 for the dinner. I believe the city of Cambria might be trying to cut back on the amount of people attending this event and so that could have been the issue. Regardless! I believe we got lucky and I'm grateful to have been able to experience it! They have outdoor eating areas and areas where you can purchase hot cocoa and alcoholic drinks. The atmosphere is completely what you'd want for a beautiful evening holiday stroll. Soft holiday music playing, the crisp central coast air everything was literally magical. This isn't just a few lights on a tree...it's lights upon lights and layers of it all over the massive property. The details and effort put into this is very much appreciated and the different attractions with the little background stories is a bit disturbing but interesting! Lol so many different types of "Santa's"! There is a nursery that has a cafe attached so you can buy sandwiches and other goodies if you are not interested in the German style buffet dinner that was offered. They have a photo booth inside of an Airstream and we enjoyed it as a souvenir. Parking needs to be organized as it's in a neighborhood, we were directed to park at a nearby church lot and shuttled over. Although it's literally a 3 min walk from the church to the hotel. Story behind this review...for Christmas (perhaps due to my age), I am much more into "experiences" rather than presents. Presents certainly have their place (great for the kids), but as I age, I find that "material" gifts lose their luster and fade from memory far faster than any shared "family outing/event/experience". Part of my Christmas Present this year was my family taking me, for the first time, to see the Cambria Christmas Market....and quite frankly, the only word that suites this experience is ENCHANTING! That's right Christmas Fans, this will be an experience/memory I will have (and you could too) to enjoy looking back on for many years to come. If you are of the same mind...I would strongly encourage you to plan your venture to this venue for next year and plan on purchasing your tickets in advance, when they go on sale (No more tickets are available for this year. The Event is SOLD OUT). If you are desperate (due to this review motivating you) to attend this year, you can...but you will need to book a Christmas Package Stay at the Cambria Pine Lodge (with that booking you will be able to attend the Cambria Christmas Market). I will not get into the cost of the tickets, since I wasn't involved in purchasing them AND since they are SOLD OUT for this year...next year's prices may be different. Parking for us was at a local High School and transportation (Charter Bus) to and from the Christmas Market was provided at no charge. All types of Merchandise Vendors were part of the Market...and different Food and Beverage Stalls were also present, so if one is in need of simple food or drink (Alcohol too) it's available. But really, the real story here are the CHRISTMAS LIGHT...all 2 MILLION + of them!!! BTW, there is also a Train Ride available, or so I heard (didn't actually see that myself). We did see a Stage with live music performers. Very nice...the group we listened to had a Guitarist that was dressed as a Santa. And then of course there is a Santa Shack...with a live SANTA! Really nice guy this Santa. Says "hello" to the Adults but if there's kids...only speaks to them. Made me laugh! The light displays were amazing and walking through the venue, you can't help but start to feel all "Christmas-ie". Yowza...did I just say that? I think I did! We spent a good 2 hours walking around...started at 7PM and were told at 9PM, the gates were being closed. It was for me, a night for the ages...something I will recall for many years to come.
