So during the day it's not always quiet, but the night I was there was quiet. I would recommend running the water first because it hadn't been run in a while and I had black stuff coming out of my faucet. There was also a wasp nest in the power box so I had to take care of that. Also, the fire pit was filled with about a 3 inch layer of ash that I cleaned out before I made my first fire. There's a guy's phone number on the kiosk that you can call for firewood. He's not affiliated with the park but will bring a bundle for seven dollars plus a delivery fee. There isn't a dedicated hose for black water tank flushing, so I hooked up my own (luckily brand new) hose to the potable water faucet. It would be much better and recommended to have a separate spigot for black water flush hoses. The sunset was beautiful and it seems the fishing is good although I didn't fish. The site had a picnic table, and the firepit has a grate for cooking albeit rusty. I had my grilling supplies and got some of the flakes off. The bathrooms were also big and clean. There is no camp host here FYI. Just pull in and park.

Tours last around 45 minutes and they run throughout the day from 9am - 4pm Central Standard Time. A limited number of cave tour reservations can be made online ahead of time at floridacaverns.com. This cave tour is pretty straightforward. You enter 65 feet below the surface into 8 illuminated rooms learning insights into limestone formations, mineral deposits, rock columns and fossilized shells. A lot of the rooms are colorful exhibiting a sort of glow in the dark appearance. The tour guide gives background and history into what makes the caverns unique and how they came into existence. Once the cave tour is completed, a great way to continue your visit is by driving 2 miles down the road (within park limits) to check out Blue Hole Spring. This has to be one of the least talked about springs I discovered in all of Florida. An absolute hidden gem, the Blue Hole is a tucked away swimming treasure that lights up turquoise blue colors when the sun is shining. Refreshing off in these waters was the best part about the park visit and quickly put my cave tour experience in the rear view mirror. The waters of Blue Hole Spring are incredibly translucent even while continuing the 2-mile flow through the woods and connecting with the Chipola River. Some extras at the park are...overnight camping for $20, hiking trails, picnic pavilions and launching canoes and kayaks. Overall, Florida Caverns State Park can be a worthwhile stop when visiting Marianna, Florida, with a combination of cave exploring, swimming at Blue Hole Spring and spending time in nature.

People should remember that before posting a bad review after choosing a park right off an interstate. That being said the further away the site the less likely you will be bothered by the noise. Vonda the owner is a very hard working person and does a wonderful job maintaining the grounds. She has a few pull through sites and three of them open up to a beautiful grassy area with shade trees. We chose one off these. All with full hook up. We are lucky enough to trust that our dogs would behave if off leash for short periods while we were outside with them. We have stayed three nights both times and just enjoyed the simplicity of the park. If you are looking for laundry facilities, showers and a pool this isn't your place.... If it is reasonable prices in a lovely setting is then give it a try.

We took a nearly 2-year hiatus from camping for a plethora of reasons. However, on 16 JUL 2023, we…read moreleft the Big Easy (aka New Orleans) and headed to Sun Outdoors in Panama City Beach, FL. This is only our 5th camping trip in our travel trailer, but we have stayed at a few other RV parks when we camped with my in-laws. Formerly called Emerald Coast RV Resort, Sun Outdoors Panama City Beach had great online reviews, which were supported by numerous pictures. Our "style" of camping may be a little different than most. We are not ones to just sit under our awning and relax. We like to be on the go and see everything a city has to offer when we camp. Therefore, we use our travel trailer as a relocatable hotel room that serves as our base of operations as we explore the surrounding areas. However, even though we may not use them, we prefer RV resorts with lots of amenities. Sun Outdoors Panama City Beach is a beautiful resort, and he front office staff were all delightful. It is meticulously landscaped, and they pick up the trash twice daily (10:30 AM & 6:30 PM). There are 2 heated pools with adjacent shower facilities, multiple key coded laundry rooms, a fitness center, a clubhouse, a sand volleyball court, shuffleboard "courts", pickleball courts and a covered basketball "pavilion". The sites are decently spaced and easy to access. The resort is in close proximity to highway 98 and Front Beach Road. You are near the beach, Zoo World (no smells or loud animal noises), Wonder Works, Ripley's Believe It or Not, Pier Park, and a plethora of other activities and restaurants. The only negative I experienced is that while at the back pool, there were numerous kids under 14 years old at the pool and they were unattended by any adults. They were rough housing in the pool so much that we decided to walk to the other pool. I should have advised the staff but opted not too and chalked it up to being an isolated incident. I can definitely recommend this resort with a good heart and would definitely go back.

A bit of a hike to bathroom/showers though. Looks to be space for one in the fenced area trash collection for future expansion (hint hint). Enjoyed our time here.
