I had my QR code ready for scanning. I waited roughly 5-7 minutes to get inside the large conference room. Not bad! I found my group and took a seat. There was a large stage where the worship team lead us in praise music. Priscilla Shirer had a smaller stage built out in front of the original stage which put her closer to the audience. I thought this was a nice touch! I pre-ordered the box lunch as I didn't want to leave the conference center to find food. Or be tempted to buy junk food at the conference center food stands. When we broke for lunch I got in line to pick up my box lunch and bottled water. Once again I had my QR code ready. I waited roughly five minutes in this line. My friends and I took our lunches outside and found some shade. I enjoyed a Boar's Head turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomato and cheese. There were mayonnaise and mustard packets in the box, plus a bag of plain kettle chips and a small soft chocolate chip cookie. The lunch was pricey at $22, but it was worth having it prearranged. And it was a decent meal. I enjoyed my time in Ocean Center and would definitely attend another event!

Most of the bands they have there was just so so. I see they have the same bands over and over and over. The music was way too loud for such a small area that they play in. The owner, I think her name is Phaedra. She needs to do something about this music mess that she has going on there and hire some good bands. It's kind of annoying every time I go out with my wife and we're on Main Street. It's the same bands over and over. As for the food, overpriced, and the hamburger sucked.

The woman at the entrance was kind and helpful, though she spoke so softly my ADHD brain had to lean in like a detective--but her directions were spot on. Inside the main building, the art from Cuba was the star for me--bold, vibrant, full of life. Some of my absolute favorites were in the Cuban art section--each piece felt like it was humming with its own frequency. The geometric painting (the one drenched in deep reds, burnt oranges, and that sharp black hourglass shape) hit me first. It's bold, mathematical, yet somehow spiritual--like a coded message meant for anyone perceptive enough to catch it. Very "guardian-spirit-meets-mid-century-modern." I stood there longer than I expected. The giant ancient sloth? Unreal. I wish they'd place a modern-day sloth beside it, just so my brain could process the scale without glitching. The bug/kids section was unexpectedly adorable. The kids were living their best lives, and honestly, I was right there with them--zero shame. I did drive over to the second building for the "It's a Ship Show" exhibit, and okay... I see what they did with the title. At first glance I read it as "It's a Sht* Show," and for a split second I thought MOAS got sassy. The artwork leaned heavily into still life, and to me it felt more like pieces you'd find in an upscale lounge, a refined boutique hotel, or a polished restaurant--visually pleasing but not as emotionally stirring as the main gallery. Just my personal taste. I could've spent more time wandering around, but I was on a first date with someone who kept making me laugh. I felt like the loud kid in class trying to stay quiet in a museum. Overall, great value, memorable art, and a surprisingly fun atmosphere. I'd definitely go again--preferably when I'm not giggling through every exhibit.

Lots of amenities, 2 restaurants, 2 bars (with 6 more in the works), the one inside bar is along the wall facing the ocean. The pool has lots of chaises, but could use a few more umbrellas, we counted and did some math and there was one for every 6 chaises. There are a few rows with none, for the sun worshipers. There is also a pool bar, and several games including giant chess, checkers and connect four. Right now you can rent a room for as low as $99 a night if you google.
