    Beautiful Tea Room!
    Sandy K.

This is a lovely, friendly tea room! I thoroughly enjoyed all of the High Tea: delicious soup, Chicken Salad Croissant, the little tea sandwiches, the macrons, the pineapple sparkling water and the tea! We sat at a beautiful table with 4 other women and had a nice chat with them! The 2 hostesses (Mary and Annie) were very attentive, making sure we were all well taken care of! Mary gave us a little insight into the Brits and London! We played 2 Tea Party Bingo games, then we said our farewells and went home with lovely memories!! Thank you Mary, Annie and the cook! Hope to visit again soon!

Food, selection amd amount both lacking. The whole vibe was a little odd. Price was a tad high.

Parking outside the Inn was plentiful. We recommended this B&B to several parents for next year. We surely will be back. My friend and I sat outside in the beautiful garden on a beautiful tree lined street on a perfect day. It was a great memory for both of us! Maggie is a truly wonderful host who cares for her business and guests. The South Country Inn is a grand historic home that makes the perfect setting for a special lunch date who appreciates these details. As it gets warmer, there are plans for new tables and seating arrangements in the comfort of air conditioning. I've attached the sample menu from March 23 so you can call ahead for your reservation or take out. My friend and I both had the Quiche w/ salad and fresh-brewed unsweet tea. It was a lovingly prepared treat with fresh and healthy ingredients. We also opted for her homemade Italian salad dressing. It was all delicious. She was out of sweets to finish our meal, but we will be sure to ask for a serving of her homemade Italian Cheesecake in our next table Reservation! If you're looking for something fun, different but also not over the top -- try Miss Maggie's Country Inn for a special and leisurely lunch treat! https://www.msmaggiessouthcountryinn.com/about/our-history/index

I figured that they may be doing a Mother's Day Tea as most tea rooms do, but I had to message her on Facebook to ask as there was no information on it anywhere. She replied that she was and put us in for our reservation. The location is great- right across the a pier. There is parking outside, and after tea we walked around the park near it. While the tea seating was at noon, the doors did not open until about 12:15 as she got ready for us. Not a huge deal, but would have been good to know as it was hot outside. Once we got inside, the place is beautifully decorated. Teapots and teacups everywhere, lace and antique furniture, colorful and feminine decorations. She even had a photo station set up for Mother's Day and offered to take pictures! Since everyone was sat at the same time, the three tiers were already set up on the table, salads were set, and iced tea was poured. She came around to ask us our choice of soup (broccoli cheddar or greens and pork) and that came around as a second course with a mini quiche. Everything was great, dainty, and filling. On the three tiers was your usual afternoon tea varieties. Bottom tier were sandwiches. The cucumber sandwiches really surprised me as they were served topped with balsamic vinaigrette! I have been to a lottttt of tea rooms and had hundreds of cucumbers sandwiches and never seen that! It was amazing! The chicken salad sandwiches were on a store bought croissant and made with canned chicken (or that is what it seemed like) but they were still good! I believe she runs this tea room on her own and I understand that not everything can be home made. The scones made up for this- they were fresh, soft, and some of the best scones I have ever had. And again, I have had hundreds of scones! Unfortunately they were served with whipped cream on the side instead of a clotted cream or Devonshire cream, but they were so soft and fresh that they could go without cream on the side. The third tier was the sweets. Some macaroons, cookies, and mini cupcakes. Again, seemed store bought but the things that were homemade made up for it. The salad, soup, cucumber sandwiches, and scones were the highlights of the meal. She came around with pots of tea and poured those who wanted it, rather than taking orders. You could request types of tea to be made, though, so that was alright. It seemed like all the tea were types of celestial seasonsings tea which I love because I grew up on those. The Bengal Spice chai was made with milk which was lovely. This is the only tea room I have visited in Florida so far, but I would come back! I would love to come back for lunch or when it is not just 1 seated tea time. My family loved it, and as far as tea rooms go, she is doing a great job.

They were open and it was teatime Tuesday which means they don't require reservations although they prefer it. Most of the other days, I would highly recommend you reserve. We started with a great variety of hotties, they serve a little soup, which was a delicious delight. They brought an assortment. A vanilla, almond danish, strawberry cheesecake, blueberry scones, chicken salad croissant, chocolate cupcakes and pimento cheese on a ciabatta bread. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful. Wow. we felt as if we were stepping back in time
