Lovely area with good placement near local businesses and nature. Living space is pretty good for the price, appliances could be better but usually get the job done. We are not impressed by the cost of living with a pet here, and while we don't mind the idea of participating in DNA testing for dog waste, they will charge you in order to pay for the initial sample that they require on top of other pet fees you already pay instead of taking the fee out of your pet deposit or pet rent. Practices like this are what make us consider moving. read more

Management refuses to fix our AC. They've made pathetic attempts to do the bare minimum. They called HVAC, guy came out, set the thermostat and said 'be back in a bit' and never came back. The apartment I'm living in is 80°. Attempting to turn the AC on turns it up to 85° if left on long enough. We've called for maintenance every day for the past 2 weeks. Now, we're being told "every time I stop by the AC is working. If your rooms are reaching 90, during the day spend time in the livingroom until your rooms cool down at night." Previously, they provided us with a portable AC unit which was set up in the living room. Today, we tried setting it up in my brother's room in hopes that it would reach the other 2 rooms well enough. Not only did it not, but it flipped the breaker. Probably because my mom is on oxygen, and the added load from the portable AC was too much for it. So the breaker flipped, turning my mom's oxygen tank off. We told them as much, and they don't care. Just reply with "it was working when I came by." The level of either incompetence, or unwillingness to do their job is astounding. This is just the nail in the coffin. We've lived here for 10 years, and the amount of things I could add is overwhelming. Even if you're desperate, keep looking. read more

Staying at River Pointe had its up and downs overall the gym is great, the pool/spa is great and the neighbors were all unique to live around to say the least and living on the greenbelt by the river is unmatched. The biggest deterrent for anyone thinking of moving here by far is the management. Debra Grenke is an absolute nightmare to deal with, she has the emotional and intellectual intelligence of a toddler. If you have any issues while you reside here, getting answers from this creature is near impossible, she will threaten you, scream at you and attempt to make you talk to her lawyer for simple questions any sane manager could answer. BIG shoutout to the assistant manager Walter, he should be the main man running the show and I cannot wait to see him promoted and making this place flourish in the future. For now save yourself the headache and avoid Debra until she finally gets fired. read more

The management is lacking. Debra is incredibly rude and has a very concerning lack of people skills for the job she is in. they have some great staff like Walter from the leasing office and Tony from maintenance . We had issues all summer with the AC unit not workin, a closet door that repeatedly fell from being opened. There was a gas leak that lead to carbon monoxide poisoning and took over a month to be fixed. Overall they need better management. Debra is an absolute joke and nightmare to work with. read more

I'm always wandering if I should move away because of crappy apartment renovations with paint spots on the floor and the ceiling, toilets that you have to hold the handle down the whole time your flushing, smoke alarms that go off everytime you use the broiler, HUD violations, controlling management, not allowed to change shower heads. The oven is a very basic oven, no clock, no timer, no self cleaning. The refrigerator door handle appears to be glued on. The security gates are disabled. This is what you get at the "luxiourious" River Pointe Apartments. Yes, I could call and ask for maintenance to fix/improve things but all requests go through management and I have been denied in the past. I stay because I hate moving and the greenbelt right outside my door. But I'm sure at some point I'll have had enough. Other reviews that talk about how nice the apartments are likely live in the new "Premier" apartments that are even more expensive with better security/key cards to enter the building. read more

So far so good! Things must have changed from a few years ago because this community is extremely quiet and peaceful! When finalizing my decision that was one of the drawing points. Another is of course the greenbelt! The older complaints seem to have been addressed as there is nothing loud here. As for management and maintenance, so far, I have been impressed in that I have been listened to and my concerns have been taken seriously. Tony, the maintenance man just left an hour ago after being very invested and interested in my needs and my Diva needs, to which, the latter he didn't have to do. That was a very nice touch and I am grateful! And to Debra's credit when I came by sheepishly to ask about my diva needs in the first place, she was sweet about it, and suggested that it's important to be comfortable! Finally, Victor has been a consistent help throughout the process of my applying and moving here. They seem to be engaged and caring enough for my needs, and I'm happy. Why not five stars? My only hitch is, while high-tech is the wave of the future and something we're all gonna have to accept one way or another, they use an app for everything from rental payments to submitting work orders. The efficiency would get five stars from me, but there is some big brother to this app that gave me a little discomfort. For example, when I went to pay my first rent payment, it knew every single credit card I have in my name without my telling it. And then, of course it charged me a $40 fee to use said credit card, something that I didn't know about in advance so I couldn't take advantage of the work arounds. However, that's a Greystar thing and not something exclusive to this property. Otherwise, I have a very positive vibe about my new place! Thanks River Pointe! read more

The place is quiet and the scenery is beautiful. Right next to the river and very close to restaurants and shopping centers. The manager Debora will absolutely not work with you on any issues you may have, and always "has an appointment to go to so make it quick". Worst property management I've ever dealt with. Prices are okay, but 10/10 will NEVER recommend anyone to live here. They only want your money and they don't give a shit otherwise. Love the River Pointe Apartments! Great service moving from out of state, gated community, right next to the greenbelt, prompt and excellent maintenance service-like, above and beyond! They have a pool, jacuzzi, weight room, meeting area. Right next to City Hall, library, and post office. Right around the corner from Walmart, banks, restaurants, stores. Between Eagle and Boise- nothing is far! Location, location, location! Have met friendly tenants. I am in modernized apartment and it has great appliances, wood floors and carpet in bedrooms, cozy gas fireplace, lots of storage, including place for bikes under stairs, and light gray neutral walls. It's winter and I love it. Can't imagine what it's like in the spring when the trees leaf out and the streams are flowing. read more

I wish I could give zero stars! They trick you into this "nice price" in the beginning and all these "amenities" they provide, also a free month garage or some BS! You end up paying for the amenities THEY provide. Also they start charging extra and make up some fast BS response like "the upper management takes care of that". They offered security key fobs since the premier apartments aren't gated. And THE KEY FOBS DO NOT WORK 24/7. It ridiculous for the amount of fees they drop on you for no reason. The door locks and key fobs won't open at certain times at night and day, and the Emergency maintenance number they provide DOES NOT WORK ALSO. No one ever picks up the phone, neither does stuff get fixed in the apartment when I submit a maintenance order. The garages are directly under the apartments and first floor, and PEOPLE LIKE TO PARK DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE GARAGE DOORS. Large trucks and peoples cars just parked along side the garage doors like people don't need to get out. I have been made late for my own HOME BASED job because of ridiculous tenants and faulty security. I believe all premier should get refunded for all the BS fees put on us because we pay for them BUT THEY DONT WORK. So please think about wether you want to leave your home 24/7 whenever you want because it's a possibility you won't be able to. Also put into mind you might get stuck outside all night because they're "security lock" doesn't work, and don't forget you pay for amenities you don't use either. So id say stay the hell away from these apartments, they are not run good at all! No real management either! This is legitimate, if you want an apartment you'd be better somewhere else read more

After being tenants for a short term stay, we have learned that the bads surpass the goods. Great location and clean complex. Now for the bads, beware of many hidden fees and no matter how clean you leave the unit, you can forget about your deposit. Certain staff members can be really rude and do not like explaining much about what and why... Do not get an unit near the greenbelt for their will be smokers right in front of your window, and the smell will travel with the wind. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT move into these apartments!!!! The company who runs them (Greystar) only cares about money and will charge you for EVERTYHING. The manager, Debra, is incredibly rude and unprofessional. They will bully you and push you around to do what they want you to do, whether it is in your lease or not. These apartments are old, WAY overpriced, and not worth it. There are much newer places for far less, with much more professional staff. If you move here, beware and make sure you pay attention to your lease and hold them accountable to what is in the lease too. We are only paying $130 more on mortgage for a 2800 square foot house than we were paying on a 1200 square foot apartment. I moved into these apartments after my divorce. I was looking for a three bedroom apartment for myself and my two kids. I lived there for a total of 5 years from 2013-2018. The first three years I lived there were ok, the complex is older compared to other places in the valley, but the location was nice and the company that ran the complex while not proactive in modernizing, weren't total jerks about things either. That all changed when the current company, Greystar, took over a couple of years ago. Greystar and it representatives care nothing whatsoever about people, they only value money. The first year they managed the property and my lease expired, they raised my rent by $200/month. Trash, sewer, and water had been included in rent, and they also started charging for those - even though there are no individual water meters to determine how much water is actually being used by individual apartments. They stopped cleaning the pool, it was green, dirty, and smelled horribly. Any complaints to the manager went ignored. I called the regional manager who claimed that he had seen the pool and it "looked fine." And yet approximately every two weeks they would close the pool for 2-3 days, dump a ridiculous amount of chlorine into the pool, and then re-open it. Only to repeat the whole thing 2 weeks later. The chlorine was so bad, my skin would peel off after swimming in the pool. The second year, they again raised my rent by another $200/month. Meanwhile, they weren't doing anything to fix the complex or modernize anything, other than remodeling the leasing office. A new manager was brought in (Debra), who claimed to be more caring and wanting to address issues, but who in reality did nothing. Requests to repair and modernize things in my apartment - replace the mercury switch thermostat, install ceiling fans in the bedrooms, replace old and non-functioning blinds in the front room, and fix my dishwasher - were met with denials and I was told that I would have to wait until my lease was up and then "maybe" we could discuss it then. The third year they wanted to raise my rent another $160/month, and start charging $10/month for my parking spot, which until this point had been included in the rent. We decided enough was enough and gave our notice. The manager Debra is EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. She gave very vague answers and would push me to do things that she wanted, but were not in my lease. When I would mention specifics in the lease, she would get frustrated and claim as if the lease didn't matter and I needed to do what she wanted me to do. I would send e-mails and call to try and get information and arrange meetings and walk throughs and she would take forever to get back to me. Greystar had been remodeling apartments as people moved out and I asked her if I would have to get the carpets professionally cleaned if they were just going to be remodeling the entire apartment - keep in mind I had lived there for 5 years and the carpets were old when I moved in. She said they would not be remodeling my apartment and I would have to pay to have the carpets professionally cleaned and the apartment would have to be completely cleaned. I did this, and less than a month after moving out we went back to find that our apartment was being completely remodeled - new flooring, new appliances, new cabinets, and new paint. She had lied to me and I needlessly spent $260 getting the carpets cleaned. Debra (manager) did a walk through 10 days before we moved out and sent me an e-mail claiming that my front room blinds "weren't quite right." When I asked for clarification as to what that meant she said she didn't know and refused to answer my follow up questions - claiming there were "too many e-mails," and that if I wanted to discuss it further then I would have to set up a meeting with the maintenance supervisor. I persisted because she is the one who had done the walk through, not the maintenance supervisor, and she had been the one who said they "weren't right." The only reason I got my deposit back is because I pushed management for answers, and made them do a walk through with me. But they are very rude, unprofessional people who will treat you like crap and overcharge you for everything. read more

When asked to investigate legitimate complaints even during office hours, by walking a short distance on the small property they refuse. In addition, there isn't any after hours security. There are numerous people here that routinely play very loud music day and night from apartments and cars, as well as late night parties on balconies as late as 4 am. Management's response is to "work it out with your neighbors yourself". It isn't my responsibility to police the property...that's what I pay rent for. I absolutely love the property! It's such a beautiful environment and everyone for the most part is super friendly. The only thing I have a hard time with is that this is a pet friendly place, and not everyone that lives in this community are pet friendly, so they seem to find any reason to bicker at people with pets. But the manager was very awesome with helping me out with my new pup and making sure the person who complained understood I was in the process of training my new one. I did last week hear someone partying at 3am while I was taking my pup outside to pee, and I surely did feel bad for his neighbors, but I try to mind my own. Other then that, the community is such a great place for first time renters! My husband and I are happy we made this our first home together. read more

Never in my life have I ever spoken to such a rude manager. Shannon, the property manager, spoke to me like she was better than me. I was relocating from Phoenix to Boise to go to BSU full time. I explained that I had great credit, but my income will be nothing because I will be a full time student. In Phoenix, it's not an issue as long as you have a cosigner, which I do. My family isn't rich but well off enough to financially take care of me while I finish my last 2 years of school. I already put deposit money down and it was in the mail, which they pressured me to do because vacancy was so low. I am still waiting for my deposit back. They refused to rent to me because my cosigner would be out of state. Thats fine, they have their rules, whatever, I get it. But the way it was relayed to me actually made me cry. Shannon spoke to me like I was the biggest piece of scum because I was going to school and didn't have an income. Instead of apologizing, I get an "Okay,whatever." Horrible customer service. I am glad you wouldn't rent to me, that would have been a long and hellish 2 years of my life. I found somewhere so much better where not only were they super nice about it, they had no problem renting to me. Signature Pointe was another place who had the same restricitions as this place, but they were very nice and empathtic about it. Shannon you are a horrible person and horrible at your job. We have only lived in the complex 4 months, but absolutely love it. Lovely landscaping, very comfortable apartment, quiet and well maintained. Located right on the Boise River Walk in Garden City, it is a joy to take a walk every day. We are a retired couple and had no trouble with any of the personnel here at the complex. In our view, the apartments are very reasonably priced for the location. We hope to be here a long, long time. read more

I looked over the information from the Attorney Generals office. It states they are not suppose to be able to charge for everyday wear and tear of the apartment but there is also a clause in the lease agreement that states they can charge evidently what ever they choose to to put the unit back into "Rentable Condition" Like I said I left it spotless. This is the 1st time in 32 yrs that I had to rent. When I rented in the past, if the apartment manager wanted the carpets cleaned they had to do it. I did not know that the new game is your word means nothing. Now you have to be able to have pictures or video of the apartment to back it up. Where have we gone as a society? I got a bill saying they charged me $135.00 to clean a 2 bedroom, 2 bath 900 sq foot unit that was already clean. $79 to clean the carpets that were 6 months old. I was rarely there. I knew I was only staying short term so I had placed very few pictures up but $26 to touch up paint. I know they did not have to do the 1st two items but their word against mine without the photos to back it up. I have moved to another state so just gets my hackles up to keep thinking about it so will let it go. I hope that by putting this out on the site it will cost them much more than the $300 they ripped me off for. Please go to the Attorney Generals Site to find out what your rights are: Read the Lease agreement carefully, Photograph or video tape the whole apartment before and after moving in and out. Highlight any damage. Even the smallest thing. If you call maintenance be sure to keep a copy of all correspondence. Schedule a walk through several days before you have to turn in the keys or they will make up reasons why they can't accommodate you doing the walk through with them. I could do small claims court and if I were to win I would get 3 times my money but to difficult to do from another state. Lesson learned for me. There is no rules for these big corporations. They can charge what ever they want. AGAIN TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM ANY PLACE THAT WANTS YOU TO SIGN A LEASE AND WHO WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE COST OF RENEWING YOUR LEASE AND ANY CHARGES UP FRONT. Beautiful complex, HORRIBLE management. My rent went up after my lease was up and they never told me. Cashed my rent checks for 7 months before they sent me a notice saying I owed them $200 for the back rent difference. Idaho law states that they notify a tenant 15 days prior to a rent increase OR a lease being up and they didn't reach out for 7 months. They are extremely cheap and try to get over on you for any amount possible. ALSO, I had a visitor who had a dog in his car. The dog apparently jump out of the car when he was leaving and the super rude manager assumed the dog was mine, posted a notice on my door that I owe $500 for a pet fee and when I told her it wasn't mine, I figured that was that. But when I got this notice on Monday, there was a $10 "unauthorized" pet fine still owing. How is it I owe ANYTHING for a pet that I never had NOR did this dog ever enter this apartment!! We lived here for 8 years. We loved how close we were to the Greenbelt. The location is excellent, there are great places to shop and eat close by. You can bike to downtown. We were paying a reasonable price for rent. And then everything changed when river pointe apartments was bought out by greystar. They raised our rent $250.00. They repaved the parking lot and put in some flowers by the clubhouse. It seemed like they just put a coat of paint on all the problems with the apartments. We had an appliance break and we had to nag on them to get a replacement. My neighbor had terrible problems with a noisy neighbor and management told her, "we don't want to get involved." The manager stacy is really unhelpful and unethical in her business practices. It's like she doesn't know how to be a property manager. She told me three days before my lease was up that my rent was going to be ANOTHER $250.00 higher on top of the new higher price. I moved out as soon as possible. Living there was a major stress in my life. Since moving I have been so much happier. I would not recommend this place. read more
