She absolutely loves it. Not only does she get to learn from skilled directors and staff, but she has developed friends outside of her normal circle at school. I like that they not only offer opportunities to perform classics like Grease, but they are challenged with other plays that are less known and they have to develop their characters from the script and not from something they've seen already on the stage or screen. CTW also offers opportunities to learn other aspects of the theater such as building sets, sound and lighting, improv, and even writing their own scripts.

And after a couple classes, he auditioned for the Players company play and was cast in 2 small roles. Every child enrolled in the classes, gets a part in the play. Maybe there is more competition in the older classes? I have no idea, but at this level every kid gets a part. The child can ask for a small, medium or large part. So there is still some "competition" if your child wants the starring role but no one is left out. Then they start rehearsals which are 3x a week in addition to the class. So make sure you and your child are committed before signing up. But in a short period of time (I think all told it was 2.5mos), they put on a complete 45 min play, with costumes and sets. My son was so proud to have family and friends come see his play. What makes CTW so wonderful is the staff. They work so hard to help the kids succeed. I especially admired the patience and positive attitudes they have with all the kids. My son starts the next session of CTW on Saturday and he couldn't be more excited!

Tons of little girls in dance gear running around, waiting for their class, coughing on each other and being loud, but if you can manage to ignore (without stepping on) them as you make your way to the back studio, then you will find Jill. Great Zumba instructor, high energy but she watches her class and adjusts the workouts to the attendees' reactions. It was a pleasure and worth the trek down to Milan to take this class. First class is free. After that - $9. If she teaches somewhere else, I would follow her. From the outside, the venue is huge, inside it's tiny and cramped except for the studios. It was the entrance to the carnival, 95 percent of guests power-walked right past us. This "fairway" was behind the stage and not visible from there, with NO SIGNAGE or promotions on their sites stating vendors were involved . #3) took ZERO consideration of booth placements, placed three jewelers next to each other, two candy vendors next to each other, BUSKERS who distracted and scared away guests right in the middle of us. The poor handmade BBQ sauce booth was placed with FOOD TRUCKS and has sold a big ol $300 by SUNDAY NIGHT. (Day FOUR) #4) Any feedback I've given to the organizers has fallen on deaf ears, only stating they did INDEED place me on the fairway as promised. States it's probably not my demographic, (guitar string jewelry at a music festival?, Ok!) Had they charged a FAIR PRICE for their booths, I would have made enough profit to pay for another show. However I only made my money back on costs of goods sold. Now I get to rebuild all my merchandise for free. They are refusing a partial or full refund. I DID NOT GET WHAT I PAID FOR. No wonder all the vendors we met were first timers like us, they probably don't get many return vendors treating them like THAT. I will NOT return to Uncle Sam Jam.

Not only are the parents paying their normal tuition, they had to pay part of the costs associated with the production (yes, there was effectively a fee for their child(ren) to be in the play), plus the parents were required to pay to attend the play. They didn't have to attend both performances, but come on, what parent would just drop off their little one and not stay? That seems like a lot of paying on the parts of the parents, don't you think? At $20.00 per person, they weren't exactly cheap tickets. Two stars were chosen because the definition for two was "Could've been better", which is precisely the point. The experience was damaged by what appears to be gratuitous fund-raising.

There's plenty of spectator parking, all just steps from the track. And there's plenty of seating on both sides so you can grab your view of the fast-paced action from the starting line or down by the finish line. Watch racers in all kinds of cars and "classes" compete for the fastest reaction time off the "tree" and best speed down the asphalt. The crew does a great job of keeping the track safe and prepped - so important! There are various concessions available so no need for dinner before you arrive. I've visited lots of racetracks (big city small town, urban, rural) and this one is a winner!
