But, there are some major issues, too. First, Cape Splash is expensive. My 2 yo cost $9. Most places don't even charge for kids that little. Our family of five cost $47 total. Woof. Second, cleanliness is the worst problem. At the base of the tall slides, sludge has accumulated. And there are rocks and debris at the bottom of almost everything. The locker rooms? Disgusting. One of my kids said he'd rather change in the car. Broken urinal, an inch of standing water in spots, etc. Overall, three stars. Would love to give more. But cost and cleanliness MUST improve.

This place is small...(if you've ever been to a hotel in Orlando....it's about the size of their hotel pools/resorts) BUT NOT NEARLY as clean, or well kept. Also, unruly kids running, throwing rocks, etc and the lifeguards do nothing. It's insane. The locals seem to love this place...but if you've ever been to ANY OTHER "waterpark" - you'd know it's seriously lacking. There is another one in St Genieve (almost an hour north) that is newer, cleaner, and better staff.

Many of the elements that made this park fun in the past just aren't there anymore and there is opportunity to make more of the themes they still have going. There were some oddities we ran into to, once time we needed to fill up our water bottles and the attendant at the freestyle station said we could not fill up there, we asked where we could get water and they said there was no free water. This was at the station near Johnny Rockets. It was odd, especially being the middle of the summer and we had kids. Small operational changes could go a long way in making this a premiere park again. With this being the last year of Six Flags branding in St. Louis, we felt an emotional pull to be here for the end of an era. Purchased season passes again and then visited over the weekend. Very surprised, in a very good way. If nothing else, the park was incredibly clean and well organized. It looks like the park has had a bit of a facelift and it was so nice to see. They still feel like they are in start-up mode for the season, but all the employees I spoke with were courteous and helpful. We were disappointed with some of the ride closures in the water park, but there was enough open that we still had a really good time. The lazy river was closed for the day, which always seems odd. I think if you have the wave pool and lazy river open, you satisfy at least 90% of your water park guests. Just seems like a strange choice. Really hoping the new ownership takes the recent improvements to another level and brings this place back to where it should be, a destination from year to year.

We packed up and spent four hours there and were super impressed. The place was well kept, the water was clean and a good temp. It was 101 degrees out so it was busy but there was plenty of room for everyone. Our son loved loved loved the lazy river and the tipping water bucket. All of the lifeguards (and there were at least 5 for the small park) were attentive and courteous. We packed our own food so I don't have any input on the concessions but they appeared to have all of the basics. For the 3 of us it was $25 all total to get in. I will tell you this... put. your. flip. flops. close. to. the. water. We're novices and put everything way on the other side of the park and the pavement was SCORCHING. Like blisters on my feet. Perfect! Such a…read moregreat aquapark, full of fun things to do! From toddlers to adults I think this place is a great place to go to swim or just even lounge around. I went several times with a twelve year old and a fifteen year old and we all had so much fun. It fills up quickly on nice days so don't wait until you feel it's prime time to go to the pool, you will not get the best seats in the house and the place kind of crowds up quickly. From the pool to the swinging rope to the little snack bar, you will have a great time and won't be disappointed I'm sure. Oh, and can you say Doggie Dive In?? Don't forget to bring your four legged friend the day/weekend after labor day. Our pups always have a fantastic time!

The rules are posted on the wall for lap swimming. On several occasions there have been people that get into your lane and do not abide by the rules. You tell the life guards, and they do nothing. Most of the life guards are teenagers, and they never intervene unless the situation is severe. I have had occasions where someone gets into the lane while I am swimming, and almost crashes into me because they did not look at the rules or follow them. The lifeguards saw all this but still did not say or do anything until the yelling started. This doesn't happen very often, and the offenders are not the lap swimmers. It is usually a kid who is not supposed to be in the lap lane to begin with (summertime issue when school is out and the pool is crowded), or someone who is not a lap swimmer and did not read the rules. Both times it was a huge safety issue. They list the days/times/hours for lap swimming, but do not enforce the rules. It can be very frustrating.
