Dr. Roy has an incredible ability to treat a variety of conditions that our animals have had over the years. Some of the diverse health conditions that she has treated include poly arthritis, ACL tears, kidney failure, heart sarcoma, unusual tongue tumor (calcinosis circumscripta), IBS disease and more. She is wonderful at explaining and treating these unusual conditions while bringing a sense of calm and understanding to each medical situation. It makes all of the difference as to how she communicates with us about our animal's conditions. She truly listens and gathers information about the vast array of symptoms that our pets have. She works with us to figure out what steps to take next and provides follow-up assistance to be certain that our pets are responding well to treatments. ZERO STARS!!!!! I just called this place three times. Try to book an appointment for two cats to…read moreget neutered. They are coming from a previous veterinarian and are requiring a new physical when they just had one two months ago. I asked if I can send over documentation from their previous veterinarian showing that they are healthy cats and they told me that they do not accept the documentation and this is their "policy ". No explanations when I questioned it and said I did not agree with their policy they claimed that they could cancel the appointment I went and canceled it since that is what they suggested. I then had to look up on my own the requirements for physicals, and Google told me more than the receptionist did As far as medical necessity. Which is a shameful on their part since they're supposed to be the "professionals". When a customer is asking why a physical is required, there should be medical necessity attached to the rationale. Not just their policy. I then looked it up and after finding the medical necessity from Google, then tried to rebook the appointment, within 20 minutes of me, trying to rebook that appointment that they said they were two weeks out and this is a small facility. When I questioned it and called Them out that they are now two weeks out within 20 minutes and for being a small facility it's a little hard to believe, The previous vet veterinarian we are coming from is triple the size of them, there is no way they would book up within minutes. The Receptionist then talked junk to the other receptionist sitting next to them while I can hear them on the phone. I then called that behavior out then they hung up on me and said I was the rude one. i called them out on that behavior again by calling back and they hung up on me again. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service. And this is what we get from "professional professionals ". The receptionists names were Theresa and Melissa. Yes: I was upset because I was not given proper information for which I was asking for. And highly doubt that they would full up two weeks within 20 minutes. Maybe I am wrong but this is how we treat our customers and clients??? By hanging up on them??? I have been in the customer service field for over 30 years and in the medical field for over 15. This is NOT how we treat patients and clients, no matter how upset they are. Instead of blaming client and hanging up them, why don't you try to provide appropriate customer and patient service and figure out what the problem is to provide the best care to your clients or potential clients. DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!!

They were kind and quickly got me set for an appointment and when we got there the vet techs and the doctor took time to learn about our pup and inform me what they suggested and even gave me the choice of having the blood draw done in the room with me or for her to go in the back room. Last spring, he got extremely ill and tested positive for a fatal retrovirus. We thought he was a goner. The conventional vets pretty much gave up on him and told me to consider euthanasia. Finley bounced back after we put the prednisone in the trash bin and instead gave him some Acemannan "inner leaf" aloe and CBD oil from Pet Releaf. He started seeing Dr. Matthews after this (early last spring). She tested all of his food, and medicines to make sure they agree with him. She recommended a limited raw food diet, continuing with the aloe and CBD, as well as monthly acupuncture treatments. Dr. Matthews has a way of communicating with the animal, understanding their backstory and knowing what they need. It seems a little hocus pocus but you can clearly see the animal responding. She was also trained as a conventional vet. She has a lovely side-kick named Dee Dee, who does Reiki and just loves up the animals during their procedures. Dee Dee gives Finley "cookies" and places a scarf over his head so he feels secure, (and looks like a baby babushka). Finley does get very stressed from the travel so Dee Dee's relaxing and loving energy has been especially helpful. The office also provides 'acupuncture' treatments over telehealth. Don't ask me how this works, but it DOES. Since Finley started as a patient, he has been acting happy and healthy, getting into lots of mischief, "helping" around the house, and posting his latest thots to Instagram. He does have a bit of a "herx" reaction which lasts about 2-3 days after each appointment, but I assume this is a good sign.

I recently transferred the care of my pets to the Longmeadow Veterinary Clinic. While this…read morelocation is new, the underlying practice has three other locations. That gives some depth and maturity to the practice as a whole. I like having the option to be seen at one of the other nearby locations if necessary in a minor emergency. The problem with my old vet is that the practice is overbooked and is now limited to only wellness care. I attended a pre-opening open house for Longmeadow Vet Clinic and was impressed that the office is well equipped and is not limited to only having simple exam rooms. My transfer to Longmeadow Vet Clinic was well rewarded recently when my elderly dog suddenly developed drooping in one eye, together with a retracted eyeball. His eye looked truly awful. My first concern was that one of the two cats I had adopted a month earlier had gone for his eye. Oddly though, my dog wasn't in any pain. I was able to book an appointment with Dr. Jost for the very next morning. Readers from this area will know what it's like to wait in the local pet emergency room for 24 hours, so I was already very favorably impressed. Dr. Jost gave my dog an extremely thorough examination that was entirely on par with what I would expect from a good human ophthalmologist. Ironically, I would not have received as good care, as promptly, and for so low a cost from my own general practitioners at Trinity Health. I will mention here that I'm a retired attorney who attended the first two years of medical school before changing to law. I had consistently performed at the center of the bell curve, but just didn't like medicine. So, I'm often critical of physicians and other health care providers, but not here. We have a terrible shortage of good general practitioners here in western/central Massachusetts. Maybe veterinarians should be allowed to treat humans.
