I'm willing to cut some slack because we went on a busy morning, but I definitely have mixed feelings on our breakfast. My drip coffee was perfect and I liked the dark roast. My husband had a hot cocoa. The chocolate was nice and the drink was very creamy but the steamed milk was pretty cool. It was more of a slightly warm cocoa and not hot. I ordered a loaded avocado toast no tomatoes and it came with tomatoes. Luckily I could pick them off. My husband got a bacon and egg croissant no cheese. They even confirmed no cheese and it came covered in cheese. He could scrape it off but lost the egg with it. So food was good but the accuracy of the orders was an issue. read more

I LOVE this place and routinely drive over from Athens because it is unmatched. The baristas are so so nice, and they always have the most creative seasonal menu. I went and was hanging out until close and the barista was so nice to come up to us and give us some pastries that were going to be thrown out! Now I have been able to eat them for breakfast! Nestled in a wonderful little downtown, River Roasters was a pleasant surprise. The mocha was very chocolaty, and the chicken bacon ranch panini had no business being that good. The side of chips and salsa were unexpected but welcome. My stomach was likely very confused by the diverse variety of the incoming guests, but he got over it. I am from meigs county and may be a little biased but have drank gourmet coffee all over the country and the coffee they roast a few miles away has been my favorite so far and is what I grind and brew at my own house every morning. read more

Ok just had my second visit where I had the buffalo chicken salad with a London Fog and here's my 2 cents PROS. 1. Nice large serving size. 2. Buffalo Sauce had the right amount of spice with out over powering the rest of the dish. 3. The "Greens" looked more like something that you would find while foraging. 4. The tomatoes were nice and juicy. 5 A extremely well put together salad. CONS 1. Should have went with the blue cheese dressing the ranch was a little too much for me. read more

The vibe here is copacetic. Reminds me of the coffee places in Sacramento. I'm driving back home to California from Niagara Falls and stopped on my way to the Mothman museum because this town is so cool. There's tons of walking path along the river and the sheriffs station is a castle. The food and drinks here are well worth stopping for and the service was great they have a lovely view of the river through bay windows. Plenty to do nearby and gawk at. 10/10 read more

River Roasters is awesome. I came back again on my first visit. Had to get a second coffee and try the Egg in a Hole. The flat white took me back to the incredible coffee I experienced in the Balkans where coffee is treated with almost religious reverence. The space is great inside and out with the Ohio River as a backdrop. But gotta say the music selection also is essential to the experience. Always familiar but not overly exposed. If the coffee and the music keep taking you back to good memories over a lifetime, you know they are doing something right. read more

The food is good and fabulous coffee as well. I always buy a bag of fresh roasted beans for home while I'm there.

I truly think this may be my all time favorite coffee place! They have a wide selection of items on their menu and everything I've had has been delicious. The service is fairly fast, the workers are so nice, and it has a very minimalist atmosphere that seems to be all the rage these days, and there's a perfect view of the river-- I'm not sure it can get much better in Pomeroy! I have to say this is one of the best places in town! read more

A hidden gem! Friendly staff, delicious food and drink and close to a pretty view of the river. I had the iced s'mores latte, one of their seasonal specials, a snickerdoodle loaf, and a slice of the piggie pie quiche, all incredible. Give some love to this adorable slice of heaven on a historic main street, one that could use some TLC. read more

Having moved from LA recently, finding a lack of Starbucks corporate coffee was already a boon, and then I found River Roasters. Small, independent coffee shops are hard to find, and good ones even more so, so a chance to get that good feeling is a much welcome bonus to the great view of the Ohio. These folks provide healing food at a reasonable price. My personal favorites are the Dirty Chai (Chai latte with a shot of espresso) and their Cuban style panini, with both ham and shredded pork, served with a side of not-overly salty tortilla chips and a refreshing salsa that makes an excellent counterpoint to the flavorful combination of mustard and pickle on the sandwich. The people are always friendly and the food is made fresh. And when I say healing food, I mean it. When I walked in today, I had a stuffy head and a ringer of a headache. When. They have decent coffee and the place looks nice. However, I'm not a fan of microwaved sandwiches or having to pay extra to get my order corrected when they mess up. Most places will simply replace the order, not charge you for another one. read more

Good break from the usual fare. Small menu - typical of a boutique coffee shop. Had the Cali Club panini, which was good, but messy. You order and pay, and I stood in line for a few minutes, which is probably good sign. Did not have any coffee, but will be back to try. Nice location with a scenic view of the Ohio River. read more

I recommend the spinach and feta quiche with a side of mixed greens to let the crust soak up the Greek vinaigrette-- just trust me, it's a healthy and delicious breakfast option! Cool little coffee shop with great coffee. I stopped here for my coffee fix quite a few times while in town. I especially enjoyed the "Elberfeld" which is their medium roast coffee with whipped cream and cinnamon. The service was friendly. I also tried their cinnamon crumb muffin and a lemon bar. Those were alright, but I'm a pretty good home baker myself, so I can be a tough critic. I wish them the best of luck, and hope they are successful in the small town of Pomeroy! read more
