I stopped by here for a late breakfast on a Friday, and you could tell this is a popular spot based on the emptiness of the shelves. My bagel options were "limited," but by no means was I disappointed with what was left. I got the Wendy's way on the sundered tomato bagel and it was so fresh and filling. My hands were covered in cream cheese and the bagel had the best flavor. It cost me 8 bucks, which for what I got seemed reasonable. I would definitely be back. We love bagels. And the atmosphere is great!!!!! We get 2 bagels, chips 3 bags usually and drinks we refill. Usually runs around 17$ or so only. Great place to stop at just walking Court Street or stopping just to eat at or pick up. Highly recommend the bagel place. Just find a clean table. Ahhhh, Bagel Street Deli. I have missed you and I'm so glad I got the chance to visit you again. Friends and I were on a road trip to Charlotte, NC from Columbus, OH and our route took us straight through Athens. Lucky for us, we needed gas and everyone in the car happened to be an OU alum. Taking a minor detour to BSD was a quick and easy decision for all of us. We found street parking around the block and made our way to the small shop on Court St. It was rather quiet when we arrived, and it didn't take long for us to pick out our sandwich of choice. I went with my old favorite, the Kimmy Gibbler on a jalapeno cheddar bagel. This bagel sandwich comes with cream cheese, cheddar cheese, tomato, sprouts/lettuce, and avocado. The preparation didn't take long, and we all packed back into the car and ate our breakfast on the road. It was delicious as always, and nostalgic af. It was as though nothing has changed over the past ten years since I graduated. The same foil wrapped bagels, the same artsy vibe, the same friendly hipsters making all the magic happen. It's comes as no surprise that this long-standing Athens staple is still moving and grooving. Delicious food, good prices, local shop supporting other local spots, etc. I can't wait for my next random pit stop. I wish I would have taken a picture! This place is just a smorgasbord of different bagel and ingredient combinations. We ended up getting four of them and we enjoyed all of them! You choose the variety of what you want, you choose the type of bagel, and then you can choose cheeses or whatever. Endless combinations! As I took my first steps into Bagel Street, I was greeted by the loud music playing in the back. A very eclectic mix of rap and hip hop was playing. Not to mention the pokemon theme song was playing at one point. Needless to say, this place has personality. As for their food, I got the fiery moe. As they passed me my order, the heat was radiating from the alumnum foil. I needed napkins to shield my hands from the heat. I'm in Athens this month and I'm so glad I found this gem! It really reminds me of bagels shops I went to in NYC. I love the busy atmosphere. It is on OU campus, so I'm not sure how parking is since I live in a dorm. If you go on a weekend morning it's definitely going to be packed. We ordered then went to get coffee and came back. I got the Reuben on an onion bagel and it came out piping hot in a foil wrapper. 10/10 on the taste. I would definitely get it again. We didn't want to eat inside due to how crowded it was, so we went outside and sat on a staircase in front of a church. You'll see people just eating while walking or hanging outside on benches and steps. It was really fun! The weather was great as well. read more

This establishment is truly awful. I have waited over a year to post this because truly I couldn't be bothered but today did it for me. This is the slowest establishment in the history of stores. It is run by college students that only talk and dance the whole time. On a regular busy day you will wait over an hour for one bagel. And if you think it's because there aren't enough workers, you're wrong. There will be over 7 college students in the kitchen all talking and fooling around. I hadn't been for over 6 months and decided to go because I saw NO one was there. I waited over 20 mins for one bagel. And to make it worse 3 out of the 4 things I asked for weren't on the bagel. Let me reiterate this, I was the ONLY one there. This establishment needs a serious management change. It is unacceptable to be waiting this long for wrong food. And 9/10 times you go they will give you an attitude like you are ruining their day for ordering a simple bagel. This business needs to be shut down read more

Bagel Street is one of my must stops when I'm in Athens, Ohio. Now I must disclose that I am an alum of Ohio University so part of my affinity to Bagel Street is nostalgia. With that being said though, bagel street does have some phenomenal steamed bagel sandwiches. The pictures I posted were from Homecoming Weekend, so the tiny restaurant is slammed. The multitude of customers should however prove that Bagel Street is thought to be delicious by many others. I may be thought of as being basic with my bagel order, I always get Kim's Kraving, which has shaved turkey, lettuce, bacon, a choice of cheese, and mayo. I order it up on a plain bagel. I know I am not exciting with my order, but I just love that darn bagel. Those with me ordered The Kevorkian with roast beef, swiss lettuce, bacon and ranch dressing. Also The Rueben and the Pizza Bagel. They loved them all. If you happen to find spare chalk on your walk to the back to place your order at the counter, you can sign your name on the bricks. You can also create some sort of origami out of the tin foil that your bagel comes in. If you feel the need you can leave your tin foil behind by finding a crack in the wall between the bricks. I love this place. Bagel Street is an Athens staple. There really isn't a proper comparison. Their menu is enormous so I'd definitely recommend looking at what you want before you come because you can customize the sandwiches however you would like. I always have a great experience here and the new remodeling makes it even better now that there's space to sit down and eat at the new table area. I am graduating soon and am so sad to be leaving bagel street since there is no bagel shop that is nearly as good as bagel street. My personal favorite is the Kimmy Gibbler since I'm a vegetarian.
