Went there for Friday fish fry. The place was packed. Was told to register with the hostess for seating. My husband told her we'd prefer to sit at the bar. After over an hour, we were seated at a table. Due to the amount the amount of people, we ordered two drinks each. After receiving our drinks, we were asked if we were ready to order. We stated that we wanted to have a few drinks first. At that time, we were told that wasn't possible. We HAD TO order immediately. If not, we had to stand up and wait for a spot to open up at the bar. My husband stated that we had already stood for over an hour waiting and were not going to stand any longer. We were then told that we had to leave. Unimaginable! My husband is 70 years old. Apparently, there are "unwritten" rules at this establishment. We will not be going back! read more

Stopped in for perch for lunch on Good Friday. Called in for carryout. Staff I placed my order with was very positive. I arrived around 11:10am for pick-up and the bar was almost full! I was told RSP has the best perch in Green Bay. My experience was exactly that! Potato salad, Cole slaw were perfectly chilled and very tasty! But the real story was the perch! Staff was really friendly but this had to be the worst fish fry I have ever had unfortunately. Got the captains catch. Got three choices of fish. Only thing good was the shrimp. Very disappointing fish fry. I gave this place a try, and spent $23 on soggy walleye, a tiny cup of potato salad, and disappointing over vinegary coleslaw. I could overlook 1 thing being wrong, but not everything. This place to me seems more like a bar than a restaurant. I am so sad. At least include a lemon for the fish? Tartar sauce was decent. Ordered a to-go order tonight for my family that did not turn out good. The people working there were super nice. However, the food was not good. We got a burger, perch plate, blue gill plate, and chicken tenders. Opened up the box with the burger, noticed mold on the top bun. My daughter still tried the burger (picked off the moldy bun) and she said it was gross and couldn't eat it. Both fish plates came with hardly any fish, the fish was tiny, and had no flavor. Not only that, but the bread that came with the plates was all moldy too. The chicken strips were just your normal "bar type" strips. Got the combo. Fish was luke warm and greasy. Perch and walleye tasted the same - nothing special, greasy, soggy. Fish was mushy without texture. Shrimp was not cooked well - overdone in the outside and batter mushy on the inside. Cannot recommend the shrimp at all. Rye bread was stale - hard and dry, nothing special. By far the best fish fry we have had since arriving in GB a couple years ago. The fish is fresh, the breading is perfect, the tartar is delicious and the staff is super friendly. We take it to go since there is only high seating and our little can't handle that just yet but we are now regulars because everything we've had has been amazing! 3 trips so far on a Friday night. Staff is very friendly if you are courteous in return. Very busy place. Good selection of fish on Fridays (love the bluegills)! Prices are competitive considering the market these days. They do a ton of takeout, but personally I would rather eat my food hot and fresh. Breading on everything I have had is light, excepting the beer batter, which is traditionally a heavier batter. Perch, walleye, bluegills, haddock, cod, as well as a few others. OK, this place, has to be, hands down, Top 3 places to have Friday night fish fry. We've been meaning to try their fish for awhile, after falling head over heels for their burgers and ONION RINGS, and tonight we finally got the chance. We went a little later, around 8:30 and the place was still hopping. We had the bluegill and the walleye and both were divine! What a nice change to have light, crispy, fresh breading instead of thick beer batter. The fish tasted fresh and like it had actually come out of water somewhere!! It was piping hot out of the fryer with no wait at all. The onion rings are a must! However everything you try here from soup to Friday's fish are great. The servers are always super attentive and go out of their way to make you happy...this includes one waitress bringing me a little sample of the two soups I couldn't choose between! So nice. Wen started a trip around Lake Michigan hunting lighthouses in Green Bay. We stopped at the Harley Davidson shop next door and asked where a good place to eat might be. River St. Pier was the resounding favorite of the staff. To say it is a "hole in the wall" is understatement. There are a few tables along one wall, a long island type counter running through the middle with bar stools and then seating at the bar. The staff was super friendly. The bartender recommended the onion rings and stated they would be the best we'd ever had. They did NOT disappoint. I have eaten a lot of onion rings in my day but I have never had any that tasted as good as these. The batter is something to write home about. I ordered the captain burger, and after the first bite, I said out loud "you have got to be kidding me that a burger can taste this good". It is a 1/4 lb brat patty on top of a 1/3 lb angus beef patty smothered in a slice of cheddar. Hands down the best burger ever. Love the nautical decor. read more

I just cannot believe I have lived in Howard my entire life and never have been here. It was outstandingly good. They had Keweenaw red on tap which started the meal off right on Saturday night. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings as a side. The burger was juicy and really large. Topped with crispy bacon and creamy cheese. The onion rings were for sure hand battered and fried to perfection. Everyone else's food look really good too. Great spot visited often by locals. They do a big take out business but never at the expense of in house patrons. Small dining area, but they provide fast, friendly, and efficient service. Currently open only Wednesday and Friday due to staffing issues, but we try to go 2-3 times per month because their fish is excellent. Wife loves the Perch, me, I'm a bluegills guy and they are great! Also tried the Walleye and my Mom says the cod was very good! They have other choices as well. I understand that inflation happens but we went there last weekend and I literally got two fillets of fish and two pieces of shrimp for $17! I was not able to substitute a salad instead of a potato because I don't eat potatoes, it would've been $3.25 more! It was just a dingy bar nothing fancy the waitresses were in a rush and we're not friendly and I won't go back there , even though the food wasn't bad! It's all about how you treat people folks!
