My favorite candy store in the world!!! I can't visit Georgia without a stop at River Street Sweets!!! This visit I was able to stop at both the Outlet Store one and the one on River Street!!! I just love looking over all the sweets, but I have to admit I come for the pralines!! Buy 1 lb., get a half lb. free!!! My carryon was FULL of praline boxes because I always share with my DIL when I get some because she loves them too!! If you want to bring some home I've found wrapping each praline with a piece of paper towel and packing them back in the boxes that they come in (I checked my carryon bag on the plane and you know they're not very careful with luggage). My pralines didn't even break one bit. When I get home I put the pralines in ziplock baggies 2 to a bag, pack them back in the box and stick the boxes (yes, boxes) in the freezer and I can enjoy them for a long time!! read more

I am not a sweets -dessert person, but when in Savannah.. I got some goodies to bring back to California with me for friends. But, I stumbled on this big rack of these little dollops of gold. I asked the cashier what it was, she told me that people call them "turtles." She explained them to me, the flavors - pecans, caramel, and a choice of chocolate. The milk chocolate with sea salt is to DIE FOR. Like I said, i'm not a sweets person. This is a must stop for some desserts! read more

This was a fun spot at Tanger Outlet in Pooler! As you walk in, you can see where they make candy apples & pralines (pretty cool if you have an interest for making your own treats). As you walk further into the shop, you see various types of candies and treats! This shop also has some unique ice-cream flavors that were delicious! I happened to try the lemon lime, coffee, & banana pudding flavors before settling on one of the staffs recommendations (i.e., strawberry lemonade). This flavor was sooooo freakin good! It was like a even balance of creamy and sorbet. This flavor is perfect on a humid day, especially if you're looking for something to quench your thirst. I thoroughly enjoyed this place. This is the place to go to for all sweetlovers in Savannah!!! From candies, gummies,cotton candies to chocolates and cookies they have it all! It smells good in here too. We placed an order at the store to have a Mother's Day gift sent to my daughter living in Germany (Military Family). We had 3weeks and I thought that would be plenty of time. It wasn't. Tracking showed it arrived to the military postal system(MPS) 3 days after my order, but never showed up to my daughters APO address 09128. On 23June we called RSS just to let them know we never received the order and sadly we didn't think the MPS wasn't reliable...in no way did we think RSS was responsible, just wanted them to know. Jasmine (customer service on the phone) was so kind and helpful. She insisted on sending us something or refunding our cost.....se was lovely and helpful and because of this great customer service we will continue to visit RSS every time we visit Savannah not to mention the Bear Claws are so yummy! But since we are still waiting on a different box I mailed to my daughter 6weeks ago....i will not us the MSP anymore! Ugh Thank you RSS! read more

Totally disappointed with the candy I bought for Valentines Day. How come the candy at this store doesn't taste the same as the ones at the malls? I got my usual, I call it a turtle. It has pecans with caramel and chocolate on top. The caramel was not the consistency of regular caramel and it tasted weird. The peanut butter cup was just okay. It also was not the made the same as the mall locations. It was much flatter. Not as tall with less peanut butter in it. Won't be coming back. Sticking with the malls. read more

Dealt with a real unprofessional bunch for the last two days. Spoke to a young lady said they couldn't do the strawberries yesterday but to call after 10 am today and they could do it. Spoke to a gentleman earlier asked me when I would be there told him 6:30 he said that's perfectly fine they will be done by then. I called at 5:57 pm to see if perhaps they were done earlier and a young man with lots of attitude and using lots of slang like "oh word" and "bet" said we don't have an order I called the wrong location (despite the fact I've called this location for years since they open to order my strawberries and would not call another location since I live in Pooler and this one is the closest). He hung up on me. Y'all location has gone to trash with these young and dumb kids you got working in this location that don't give a shit about customer service. Now my time and gas wasted because of a bunch of unprofessional trashy fools. read more

This is usually my go-to candy store, because so many of their sweets are absolutely delicious! Their gelato shop is also so fun, especially in the summer. However, I have been becoming more and more disappointed as they shrunk the quantity of their sugar-free chocolates and candies over time. I have several members of my family who cannot eat sugar, and so a box of sugar-free chocolate from River Streets was always one of their favorite gifts! Today though was the last straw. They only had three trays of sugar-free chocolate clusters on a bottom shelf in their display. They looked old and dusty, like they hadn't been touched in a while. It was really disappointing because they used to have a whole display with a wide variety of chocolates including coconut clusters and peanut butter cups. It's really disappointing, because it feels like the store just doesn't care about providing chocolates for people with dietary or medical restrictions. I hope this is just a temporary phase and they go back to making a wider variety of chocolates soon. read more
