The guy who answered the phone, Rick, was super friendly and very polite. He told me I could have my car towed that day and they'd try to take a look at it, but it was a Friday so he wasn't sure if they'd get to it. Totally fine. He gave me the number of a tow company that they work with that picked up my car. I didn't hear anything by the end of the day Friday, so I figured they weren't able to get to it. On Monday I got a call from Rick who gave me the bad news... pretty expensive repair but I had already figured that out from Googling. He said he'd order the parts and hopefully get them yet that day. I didn't hear anything back by the end of the day, so I figured they weren't able to get to it. Ha! Then I got a call on Tuesday afternoon saying my car was ready. Luckily my boyfriend and I work together so I wasn't needing a car while it was being worked on. Rick was again super friendly and polite when I picked up my car and everything is running smoothly again. He even followed up with me a couple days later via text to see if everything was still going okay. The lack of communication I experienced the first couple of days might stress some people out, but I wasn't too worried. I will be going to Mason Street Garage for all maintenance from now on. It's really nice to support a local business that cares about their customers and provides friendly service during what can be stressful situations.

However, Meekhof has always been super friendly. I've had to vist them twice in the last couple of months due to an issue in my car and they fixed it pretty quickly. They provide a shuttle service within a certain area but I didn't use it. Their hours are pretty convenient (early mornings at least) and if you can't make it before close, they can give you a call and let you pay over the phone and leave your key in a secure area to pick up your car if needed. While no one ever wants to go to an auto repair shop unexpectedly, the guys at Meekhof took care of me and explained it to the best of my ability to understand. Prices were definitely fair - I got a couple quotes from local dealerships and they beat the price by a couple hundred dollars! Definitely plan on keeping these guys as my local repair shop.

The younger man at the counter threatened to keep my vehicle if I didn't sign it. That threat, Bauer, is not only asinine, it's legally called "an unlawful detention of property." A repair shop CANNOT hold a vehicle simply because someone refuses to sign a refusal-of-service or liability waiver. Good thing you relented. You'd have a lawsuit on your hands right now. By the way, I just got the two Pirelli tires you attempted to overcharge me on for $200 less than your outrageous quote, including all installation costs. You tried to take advantage of a woman new to GR and in need of the repair of a flat tire. But you messed with the wrong woman. Go elsewhere, people!

He took my car into the garage and worked a small miracle on my car. The dent was gone and the bumper was reattached. Jim, the person that does estimates at Burton Heights Auto Body will promise to do things and then…read morenot follow through. I had an insurance claim that needed attention. Jim gave me an estimate a few months ago for additional minor repairs along with a complete paint job. When it came time to do the work, Jim then increased the price dramatically. He then promised to raise the vehicle on a lift when it was in the shop to give me a more accurate estimate. That new estimate never happened as Jim said parts were not available. I checked online as soon as I returned home and found several sources for parts. I also asked for an alignment while my vehicle was in the shop. Jim told me that someone crawled underneath the car and said it did not need an alignment. That is not how you check alignment. Really, If the vehicle pulls to the left or right then it is alignment related. The vehicle was never raised on a hoist nor put on an alignment rack. I let Burton Heights Auto Body repair my vehicle and was not satisfied with the service, nor the deceit and unkept promises. I have referred many people to this establishment in the past making the company many thousands of dollars. That does not include the thousands that I have spent. Yet, when I had to go through the process all Jim cared about was the insurance check and not making the customer happy by meeting the requirements and promises that he made to me. Deceit is not good business... NO MORE REFFERALS!
